Comments:I`m an experienced rescued Staffordshire owner, presently I`ve a young male, castrated, staff cross. I`m thinking of getting a friend for him. Hes 3, so can be a bit lively, and doesn`t enjoy males larger than him.
I`m not looking for any particular age or breed, live in a house without children, though I`d prefer a dog who likes them, and live accross the road from the beach in Frinton.
Also I work from home as a portait painter.
Perhaps if you`ve a suitable dog, you could email or call me? Mob.07976273234

Comments:We visited the day after new years day. It was extremely cold but we had a lovely time - its so nice to see these animals living such happy lives. We visited the cafe and warmed up with a hot drinking chocolate and cake, very friendly people. We will certainly be visiting in the summer when its hopefully warmer, manningtree itself looks a very nice place to visit.

Comments:All the animals in the park are rescue and so not always 'perfect', some may have been deformed at birth, through injury etc and so sometimes do not look normal. The geese suffer from concorde wing and this is a condition which cannot be treated by vets etc and does not harm the goose or hinder its movement, the dogs stay with us for short periods of time before they are homed and not all enjoy being in kennels. We try to use stimulus for the rabbits and smaller animals such as runs, vegetables, tunnels etc to keep them from becoming bored. We are reliant of volunteers to run the park and sometimes we have limited numbers to run the park but we always ensure all are fed, watered and kept clean.
If this is for the website, can you email me from the address on the contact page (Rog)

Comments:I found this place on the internet after looking up animal related things to do.I was really pleased when I found this place as it does something that I'd always said Id like to do,rescue animals!I think its especially nice that
you rescue animals from farms that would use them for food.
All the animals there were lovely! There was a one-eyed hen and bunny which was so sad! There was also a dog which looked quite upset and a poor goose with broken wings,if i ever won any money I'd love to give it to you,to hopefully (if vets could) mend the gooses' wings. And to also give the animals a little bit more room,we felt sorry for the eagle owl on its own,it was looking at the other two eagle owls in another enclosure! The goats were following us around all day and the horses and the donkey were really sweet! We'll be coming back soon!

Comments:Hello there,
Just a quick line to thank you for our beautiful Dogue De Bordeaux cross labrador pup we got from you in February 06.
We named him Digby as we knew he would get to quite a size.
We would of loved to have come to the dog show on August 20th but unfortunately we was away on holiday, but we won't miss the next one!
Digby has proven to be an invaluable member of our family who we all love very much, he is also the most handsomest dog i have ever seen and wherever we go he turns heads.
I was just wondering if you had heard anything from anyone else who had one of the pups, i think there was four boys in all completely jet black it would be lovely to know how his brothers are getting on and if their owners have had any of the experiences we have had ( especially where the slobber is involved!!!!).
Many thanks once again and good luck with all your fund raising. I was also wondering if you rehome any of the horses you have at mistley?
Kindest regards
Neil Kirby

We had great fun feeding all the animals, we were warned when we arrived the goats can be very persuasive for the food....and they were!!! Wonderful to see some many animals given a second chance and so happy and well looked after, sad to think there is a need for such a place. Keep up the good work, we will be back again soon!

Comments:January 2006 was my first visit to Mistly Park, I was amazed at the amount of cared for animals, I was there for a reason to have my first visit with (formally known as POO BEAR )Now Yogi Bear the lovely pug, I immediatley fell for him it took over a month to sort every thing put and Maureen constantly kept me informed of his progress as he became ill and she wondered at times if i would still want him, No way was i going to give up on him .So febuary brought great joy to me when i finally picked him up, Last August i attended to open day and dog show it was amazing to see the amount off people and pets who where some maybe all ex rescue dogs. Maureen and husband and team deserve the utmost respect and i am very proud to have met them and i will continue to support their work as much as i can.May 2007 be full of good forturne and health to everyone at mistley and that includes the animals whom are very lucky to have found this place to stay, otherwise where would they be? good luck for this yeah guys love sharon and YOGI BEAR

It was brilliant to see dogs homed from the park back for the show and looking very much loved and very well cared for. It proves that we really do love our animals and showing them off to other people!!
So, Thank you all again for making it such a wonderful day and for raising hundreds of pounds to help continue the hard work done by Michael and Maureen, as you may know all the work is funded solely on donations and from vistors to the park.
