| Comments: | Hello my name is Russell Krueger. The name has gone back and forth between Krueger and Kruger with an umlaut. I found your web site tonight. I might be of some help. My family left Hansfelde, Brusewitz and Stargard in 1856. They arrived in the port of New York on 16 Aug 1856, onboard the ship Borussia from Hamburg. My family twice married into the Borck or Bork family that came with them to the U.S. Mrs. Bork maiden name was Dorothea Sophie Hinz. Her birth year was 1805. She married Johann Daniel Friedrich Borck. His birth year was 1787. They were both from Hansfelde. My Great Great Great Grandfather, Michael Friedrich Krueger was the Miller in Hansfelde. I have some pictures of his mill. Most of it was still standing in the late 1990 when a cousin took a picture of it. I also have a picture of the church and cemetery in Hansfelde. My Great Great Grandfather was a merchant in Stargard. His oldest brother, Wilhelm, was a farmer in Brusewitz and was married to Alena Sophie Medenwald. The Medenwald family was from the Brusewitz area. Also in your list is the name Radke. When my family got to Dodge / Jefferson Counties in Wisconsin some of the family members help form a church that had Radke's in it. Another family from Brusewitz that was in this church was Gottfried Haeleu and his wife Louise Huebner. The Radke's may have known the Haeleu as a Haeleu was a sponsor for one of their children. I also see in my database where a Borck / Bork descendent married an Eggert in the U.S. I have no history on this Eggert line.
We don't know any relatives of Michael Friedrich Krueger. We do know that there were multiple Krueger or Kruger families in Hansfelde. My cousin, Robert Krueger, on his visit was trying to finding our leg and didn't try to tie these other Krueger's in. What Robert didn't know until after his trip was that one of Michael Friedrich's daughters married a Wilhelm Neumann of Hansfelde. Wilhelm's mother maiden name was Anne Christine Krueger. I`m Kasubian. I saw my family name in a 1872 or 73 German map book. The town was Rekow, my name Rekowski. It doesn`t exist in the Polish maps. All information is correct. I found your beautiful site by searching for Wudarge. My ancestors were Wege, Kufahl, Matzke and Schulz. Some related names are Rollenhagen, Brunkow, Teske, Tessendorf, Fehlhaber, Repp, Curl, Gehring. The Weges and Kufahls and maybe others lived in Doelitz and Wudarge in Pommerania. Some of the Weges arrived in the USA May 16, 1878 from Antwerp in steerage aboard the ship Java. Most settled in Pottawatomie County, Kansas.
