I was reading over your 'facts' page and noticed something amiss. The Rolls Royce grille also happens to be a "golden rectangle" (mathematically, the most aesthetically pleasing shape). My father is a collegiate math teacher, so this statement has some basis in actual fact. Otherwise, great site!

I am searching for history on a 1954 R type pickup conversion, # B 164 YD, which I am restoring. Are there other pickup conversions? I have found a 1948 model in South Africa. Who did the conversion? The one I have has an emblem on the dash, "Organs of Oxford", and anemblem, H A Fox, ltd. It was brought to Oklahoma usa in 1976 by Jim Leake. Any information or clues would be appreciated.

I am 52 and own a prestine Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 1. since early childhood it has been my dream to own a Silver Cloud 1 but it seems that the Shadows are more practical as a daily car. I have been riding Harley-Davidson since 1968 and have had 21 of them to date, and several Land-Rovers since the latter '70's. i hope to have a Cloud in my future though...I think that the Clouds are the perfection on four wheels like the Harley knuckleheads are the two-wheeled perfection!

In 1968 -1973 I traveled to RR aircraft engine facilities as I was dir. of Engineering for Fairchild Aircraft Co. The RR people gave us some plates with the RR moto on them which I still have. I asked them for a car but they said it was not in their realm. I recently made a History channel program with an English firm on the last AC I helped design [the A-10].
