Comments:Ladies and Gentlemen, I am trying to research my ancestors, the descendants of William Wall. My g....grandfather was Ezekiell Wall, brother of William Wall who served as a soldier in the Revolution as a private per DAR record. Their father was William Wall who died in Dorchester County in 1772. I would love to have any information on Ezekiell and his wife, Elizabeth Hill, per Dorchester County marriage records.. Did he or Elizabeeth's family serve in the war, support the cause or support his brother in any way? Was their father William Sr. a civil servant prior to this. The only info I have on the family is from " Colonial Families of the Eastern Shore of Maryland". Ezekiell( Ezekial) was the father of my g..grandmother Hannah Wall who married a Mark Ely of New Jersey. The had a daughter, Cora Ely from Dayton, Ohio who was the mother of my great grandmother. Cora Ely married Marshall Jerome Gregg, moved to Birmingham after the Civil War. Their daughter was Luetta Alpha Gregg, who married Judge George Caldwell Taylor of Greeneville, Tn. They were my loving grandparents. My mother was Ellen Alvira Taylor who married Tim Joseph Manson from Chattanooga. My parents are now deceased leaving me and a brother, Tim Joseph Manson. I am Ellen Taylor Manson Watson from Lookout Mountain, Ga , a suburb of Chattanooga. I have gotten this far with the geneology but the history of Dorchester County is so VERY full of info. I just don't know where else to look for the info on William Wall Sr and Ezekiell. Can you put me in contact with a local historian or geneologist that can advance my own family history. So much on my family!!! There is no shortage of words from this Southern gal. No way I could make it briefer. Thanks for any info you can supply as I would love to qualify Ezekiell Wall as a supplimental ancestor for the DAR. Thanks for your patience on this family diatribe. Sincerely your, Taylor Manson Watson 208 Rock City Trail, Lookout Mountain, Ga 30750

Comments:I desc. Taylor's Island, Lt. Leven/Leavan Woollen, Sr., to Little Troublesome Creek on the Guilford/Rockingham Cos., N.C., line. Near Rev. War, Speedwell Iron Works where the Maryland Continental Line encamped after the Battle of Guilford Court House. Many other Dorchester Co. families removed there after the Revoluntion, such as the Goosetrees. Thirty years ago, Levan's log cabin still stood in fine condition at Woolen's Crossroads. The date 1793 in the stone chimney, and on the deed. The log's 1&1/2 feet squared; no chink'n; solid walls of wood; whitewashed within. A blacksmith's and wheelwright's shop there was where a Civil War company was recruited. In the 1830's, one of the Woollen's there espied a coble of near-naked, shoeless, chained, enslaved blacks passing to the new Missisippi territory. Some Woollen's and Heath's removed to Indiana; writing back, they NEVER wanted their children to see Christian men treating other men, that way. Later ex-Quaker Rev. Daniel Worth (father-in-law of Dr. Woollen) was convicted and sentenced to be publicly whipped at the Guilford County court house, for passing out a wagon load of Mathew Rowan Helper's book, "The Impending Crisis on the South". It was illegal to criticize slavery. Dr. Woollen bailed out his father-in-law, Rev. Worth; and they fled to Woollen and Heath kin, earlier removed to Indiana. Where on Taylor's Island was the Woollen home? What happened to the Navy family there? Jim P.S. My great grandfather, Sgt. James Anderson Woollen, CSA musician, buried Old Salem, N.C.; is in the 1890's book, "Lee Family of Virginia", by Edm. Jennings Lee.

Comments:We were doing genealogy research and came across a relative named Mary Fenwick (maybe Hill through 1st marriage) and John Drummond, a shipbuilder, of the Eastern Shore, Maryland. Is there any information on either of these families? My husband and I are goin to be visiting Chestertown and thought we would try to do a little research in Cambridge. thank you so much Mary Wehle
