Hi to everyone !! I remember many of you from my time at PWC Midland ... still have the keyring (number 111) from the Stable. I moved on after 89 and went back to uni ... went on to become a registered psych ... yikes ! Now I work at Challenger TAFE managing lecturers and apprentices ... how the hell did that happen?? Joined the Army in 1957 and was one of Regards to the original members of 101 Inf Wksp at Puckapunyal. Spent ANZAC Day in Darwin where many of the old and bold were there to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of 101. A great time was had by all, yet only 7 of the original group made the trip. Regards to all and a big hello to E. McCart, I remember the days at the Plaza in Melbourne.

| Comments: | I was REME attached to a RAEME LAD in Taiping Malaya during 1960 and would appreciate any feed back from any of your members who may have been thereat the same time. There is only one name that I can remember and that was Clive Conners or Connors, at the same time we had a very interesting experience in that there was a RAEME Cpt who developed a system of transporting a Land Rover across a ravine by attaching pulleys to each of the whells and driving it along two steel ropes that were tensioned across the gap by means of anchor pins and a Scammel Recce truck

| Comments: | Just found the site, excellent. To jog a few memories I started life as a boffin at 8 Mdm Regt Wksps, Holsworthy in '69 after completing my trade training at Bandiana. I moved on to 2nd Base Wksp, P&EE Port Wakefield, SA., and finsihed up in Melbourne at DCPM, retiring as a WO1 in '88.
Since then I have been mainly involved in the Engineering and Operations side of bulk explosives in the gold and coal mining industries in WA and now central Qld. Love to hear from any of the old hands that stumble across this note. Cheers Hurls |

the back issues of your newsletters. Very nice, and it was good to see a few names that brought back pleasant memories. I did the 1/77 ATET Radio course (Yeh, I know, a thick) and was posted to 2 Base Wksp Bn in 1978. I did the 1/79 Rapier course and was posted to 16 AD Regt Wksp in 1980, the School of Arty in 1982, back to 2 Base in 1984, RAEME Trg Centre as an instuctor in 1986, Adelaide Wksp at the Rapier BRF in 1990 and then back to 16 AD Regt Wksp as the ASM in 1992. I retired from there in 1994 and I've been working as a Lab Manager at Adelaide Uni ever since. I'd be happy to hear from anyone who remembers me and wants to catch up. Keep up the good work guys. |
