William James or John McQueen, born 9.5.1896 or 7. He married Margaret Stranaghan in Feb 1920 at Desertcreat Church of Ireland, I think his mother was Jane Donnelly who married Andrew McIlree in 1905 and had 3 more children. She died about 1921/1922. Can find no trace of him anywhere, he was supposed to be born in Ballygawley or Ballygoney, but I can't even find a birth record anywhere. He moved to Corby, England in 1949, followed by his wife and youngest son in 1951. |

there was a home for unwed pregnant young girls
near Del Rey, California, I don't think that
home was ever registered as a adoptive home...
Maybe it was a home for young girls to have
their babies and then be taken away for adoption,
I'm not sure but in any case I do remember waving
to the girls after working the fields near by.
I know this information is a fact and I did
confirm just recently...I always bothered me
through the years if the young girls ever gave
up their child...very curious

| Comments: | I am visiting and looking for information on Martha STRAWN of Cobb County, Georgia, b. about 1856-1858 in GA who married Samuel Augusta McKINNEY, son of Thomas Newton McKINNEY and Mary CHAPMAN. Samuel was b. in Pickens County, SC about 1850. His family lived in Cobb County, GA in 1860-1870 censuses, and Thomas and Mary apparently moved back to Pickens County, SC between 1870-1880 as Thomas died in Pickens County, SC between 1880-1890; do not know where Mary died, but assume in the same area (her parents were from Pickens Co., SC also).
Their son, Samuel Augusta McKinney, my gggrandfather, moved to DeKalb County, AL where he lived and died; he md Martha Strawn, likely in Cobb County, GA in the latter part of the 1800s, maybe about 1875-1885 plus or minus. Douglas Co., GA might be another possiblity as it adjoins Cobb and would likely have been in a part of the original large county of Murray. Still need to look this up, however, as I am away from my maps, records.
I do not think this line evolved from the person on this website, but am considering possible descent from John Straughan of Orange County, VA (1700s).
