My Great Grandpa Oscar Miller and wife Martha Zeigler Miller and a Mr. Roark are buried back by the fence to the left of Geraldine Weaver's grave. The Sprouses accidently put Wesley Sprouse's tombstone at the head of Oscar Miller. Wesley, I'm sure is buried in the area but not where his tombstone is. My Granddaddy Anderson has a baby son buried in front of Percy Letney's grave. He was moved there when the lake came in. He has a block that says Anderson. It is usually covered up. |

They had one daughter Vallie Francis Bradshaw who married John Cleveland Coleman in November 1920 and moved to Port Arthur, Texas. They both lived out their lives there and are both buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves Texas. They had 2 daughters both still living. My mother Aletha Joyce is still living in Port Arthur, my Aunt, Margie Audrey lives in Beavercreek, Oregon.
Most of the Hamiltons in the Brookeland Cemetery are related to me in some way. My great Grandparents lived in what was known as Hamilton Town, within shouting distance of my Great grandmothers brothers. Romantie, John Tom, Sidney, Whitson,and Claudie were her brothers. Many names were familiar to me as when I was a child, my dad, Ellis West Bozeman brought us to Brookeland almost every weekend. Our neighbors were the Letneys, the Woods (Don & Sondra) and the McClellands. Ben and Corine had four children, Emozelle, Minnie, Norene and Ellis. Minnie (married Norbert Weiler- who bought one of the McClelland places) now lives in Dallas and Norene is in Florida. My dad and Emozelle have passed away. I loved visiting this site and will likely visit often. |

My Mother's father was Thomas Lakey. She was raised in Pineland ,Tx, Her name was Tommie Mae Lakey. I know Lee Lakey was her Uncle. She had one brother, Jack Lakey, who lives in Vidor,Tx. One sister Eunice, who passed away. My mom also has passed. I lived in Alvin Tx. for 38 years and we bought a place in Broaddus, Tx. two months ago. I heard that there was a Lakey family cemetery somewhere close to here but no one seems to know. I heard it is off Hwy 83 just outside of Broaddus. That would be in San Augustine county. Mr. McClelland, Sr. was a native of Jasper and a long time resident of Houston. | Comments: | could you tell me if you have any youngbloods my grandmother was minnie youngblood and her husband was o.a. youngblood i have look over all for her parents with no luck i know they are in a cemetary there in brookeland her name was minnie dean she married oscar asa youngblood also know that her two sister married two brother they were dean married willisone was eva dean and the orther may dean one of the husbands was a johnny willis i think its been a lot of years i know for sure minnie youngblood and oa youngblood are there in bookeland i dont know if there is more then one cemetery but i know their is the one down from the school |

husband was John Daniel McNeill. My g-grandmother's parents died very close together, possibly the same day, when my grandmother was about 2. She was raised by her grandparents, Henry Jackson Powell and Samantha Ann Powell. My only living McNeill relative is Mrs. Clara McNeill in Brookeland.
