My grandfather, Alvin Jason Parsley listed Deweyville as his place of birth and with some research I fould that Deweyville is in Newton Co. He was born in 1893 and Died in Evadale Texas in 1973. I have info on him, my interest is in his parents and his brothers, I have Amos, Andrew, B.W. Jim And L.E. and their families to complete my dad's side of the family. | Comments: | I am looking for info on my father's family, (Parmer), and just happened upon this site. I grew up just south of Jasper, in Trout Creek community. This site was is great! It helped me get started in my search! All I Have so far is my father Harold Dean Parmer Sr. and his father Lige and his mother Maddie Parmer's info at least some of it! Dad had two sisters, Billie Lou Parmer Walters and Lerlene Parmer Reeves. Dads father died before I was born (1958) and his mother died in 1980. They are all buried in the Trout Creek cemm. by the Trout Creek Missionary Baptist Church. If anyone has anything to help me along, Please e-mail me. Thanks and again I enjoyed the site! |

| Comments: | my grandfather Jimmie McBride was born 11/26/1903in ol Salem where 4 days after his mother(Emmia Whitman) died 11/30/1903 she is buried at Call cemetary Emmia was born in tx as well as his father( Henry McBride born in 1875 and married Emmia ? 1897?)now Henry was killed in a freak logging accident in 1905 buried next to Emmia at Call. The children Bettie born1898 tx later married Thibodeaux and Susie born 1900 tx went to lived with family Whitman and married Jodie one of their sons later. I as a child remeber their home and I recall later G-uncle Jodie had one arm not sure lost in war? butmy grand fther was raised by his mothers father j. whitman. we did not come to Dallas till 1969 we were Orange tx where I attend bancroft elementry 1-3 years, beaumont 4 th gr., oak cliff 5 th., but visited regularly I had realtives in Orange on my mom side Russuell h. Duckworth( my gmom's baby brother)lived in Pinehurst. I still have AuntRuth in deweyville(Ruth Christan)Owner of Ruth's Cafe. This my father(James T.McBride) 1/2 sister as well as (Iva lee Godar) who lived on the river and sold fresh caught fish. She and my father both deceased now she in 1995? and He in 1994.
