Musicians parking will be on the left for unloading at the stage entrance. If time allows you may be able to play another song or two. Ronny loved music so we thought a jam session would be a great way to remember him. An Irish Wake We will have a memory board in case anyone wants to share pictures or memorabilia. Chris Edwards is trying to find a head to toe picture of Ronny, preferably playing bass to make a life size portrait of him that we can display on stage so he can perform with the bands. I took my wife last night and we had a great time. Laughed all the way home. $15 is pretty cheap and the beer is cold!

Following a 2-year stint as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Central Africa I joined the U.S. State Department/USAID as a Foreign Service Officer. I have spent the past 25 years overseas in Africa (Zaire, Mali, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia) and the Caribbean (Haiti & Jamaica). Currently based in Guinea, West Africa I will be moving on to my next assignment (Nairobi, Kenya) in May of 2005. Married with 2 children - daughter (Maggie) is a junior at West Virginia University and son Tyler, who is a big 4th grader. What a blast and what a pleasure to be part of the planning process. This year's Reunion was my third or fourth to be involved in and was probably the most enjoyable. Now the others on the committee may think I'm crazy for saying the most enjoyable but maybe it's because as we get older we tend to sit back a little and try to take more of the experience in. I'm not saying this years reunion wasn't stressful or worrysome because most of you know it was. It's just that after all the planning, phone calls, e-mails, meetings, etc. what I think I'll remember most is looking around at the golf tournament and the parties and seeing people either re-connect old friendships or connect with new friends. There are people that we went to school with that we didn't have or take the chance to get to know 30 years ago and events like this give us that opportunity. What a pity that more of our classmates didn't take the time to capitalize on that opportunity this year. Maybe next time. I also want to say I was honored to be a small part of the process. We didn't get home from the meet untill 9:30 pm. I was so pooped out and we still had to be back at the meet by 8:00 am Sunday morning , I just went to bed. I am still worn out, but am still "high" from having such a great time visiting with all of you...especially those I rarely get to see! Those of you who played in the golf tournament give me hope that I, too, might one day be able to play as good as you..especially if I get my hands on a blender like Hammons had and a cigar as big as Kent's! Girls Rock thanks to Harriet & Priscilla. Friday was just relaxing and fun..especially after JB got control of the music. Tex Smith (aka Terry) looked great in his 10 gallon hat and western dress attire! Some things never change as the girls danced the night away..with a few exceptions..like TC who can really dances..even if he can't play golf! It was fun catching up with some of you I rarely see like Sheila, Sally, Brenda, that cute little McKamie couple, Willard, Nelson, Ronnie G., Carlos, and all JB's girls! :) Then came Saturday night and once again you transformed the Grand Hall at Union Station into a warm place full of Kimball life! During the day, while we decorate, it just looks like a big, empty room. At night, it blows me away to see it filled with the warmth of the memorabilia, decorations, food and lots and lots of friends hugging, talking, laughing and sharing memories and even a few tears! Thanks to all of you who made this as important to you as it was to all of us on the committee! I can't say enough great things about my friends who have worked so hard all year to make it a special event. I know I missed seeing and talking to some of you, but I hope you had a great time, too! All of you really looked wonderful and very snazzy I might add! I loved catching up with your lives and getting to really meet some of your for the first time..like Ronnie Briles & Wayne Strickland. Tacker, Terri & Tim, Bobby & Kim, Tracy & Kym, Randy & Kim, Brian, Michelle & Brad and all the other folks I just don't get to see enough..I loved catching up with you. What a great time I have had for the past two days. The Golf Tourney was a blast, especially watching Caldwell put a hole in the tree! You guys still have great swings in your backyards. Friday night was great. The food was great, JB's tunes were great and seeing everyone was fabulous. BUT.... Saturday night... WOW!!!!! After 30 years there were a few I didn't recognize, like Bill Kaufman, but the majority of you have not changed a bit. Our outward appearances may have changed. Our hair styles may have changed but you are still the fabulous and beautiful human beings that you were in school. What a class! I applaud you. For those of you who could not make it...we missed you and hope to see you at the next reunion. Hats off to Kim, Kathy, Theresa, Mark, Tim, Bill and the others who have been the class Pack Rats. Rumor has it, from someone that has been to other Kimball reunion's other than the Class of '74's, that we have THE BEST Memorabilia. Thanks for taking us back down memory lane. | Comments: | Well, I almost made it...but after the elevator ride to the top of Reunion, I looked into the room a couple of times from the registration desk--and realized that I recognized no one at all. No surprise, since I only attended the 10th grade for a couple of months before
transferring to SOC, and then Metro. (i guess i thought i would recognize most everyone from 3 yrs at Browne). Looks like there was a pretty good turnout, at least around the time I looked in, around 8:30pm. Maybe I'll be more resolute next time, and see ya at the 50th. If anyone remembers me from Browne, contact me if you get the urge, or want me to point you to some good blues music in the area. |

Great to see so many names from the past and how all are doing. I guess for a bunch of punks, overall we did OK! Afterall, we were the future and the future is now and here we are.
We still live in the area as I see many old Knights (oooh, didn't mean "old") do. We are also in Red Oak, which seems to be a migrating area for Oak Cliff neighbors. Four kiddos, two girls (28 & 20), two boys (12 & 8). The oldest a teacher at RO High school, the next going to college to teach elementary and the boys, well they are still keeping us hopping, running and young? I left Texas after the heat wave of 1980! Good to see postings from so many that I have thought of often. I wish that I could say that I was still the skinny kid I was in high school, but the ravages of gravity and trials of raising children have taken a toll; a little over-weight and losing my hair, but still involved in music and drama. My daughter is a senior this year and is about to play Maria in "The Sound of Music". I have been helping with the directing. I am also involved with the local chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, (Inc). SPEBSQSA. Are there any quartet members out there? I would love to come and ring some chords. | Comments: | To the class of 74. A few friends, a few laughs, and not even a couple of good teachers. All I remember was trying to get out of there. If you were not in the "click" it was not happening for you at Kimball. Counselors that said "NO", its not for you, leaders that allowed hate based on the color or skin and the amount ($$) you reflected. My memories might be different but that is what it left on me. I will be there to see, just what this "GREAT" class projected. |
