Comments:I was a student at Rutgers in the 80s, and used to enjoy looking at old buildings and graveyards in town. I was always fascinated by the gravestone in a small churchyard in town that dated from either 1799 or 1801 (IIRC). The boy's name was Frances Coenhouen or Coenhoven (again, I'm trusting my memory here) and he was only 16 when he died. His epitaph read, "My soul is beset with grief and dismay, I owe a vast debt and nothing can pay."

I have been intrigued by this ever since. It seems such a bizarre epitaph for a young person - or for anyone, really. I don't expect anyone knows more about it, but I thought I'd share in case it's of interest.

Comments:super cool! I swear, this is the best site ever for info on New Brunswick/Rutgers. I couldn't find much online before we moved here and now that I've paged through all 6+ I feel much better. It was a nice addition to our adventuring today in doing the "Walk, Learn & Explore" tour of historic downtown New Brunswick (no, not kidding) that we did today. So super awesome. I'm bummed the willow grove cemetary web site isn't up. Freaked us out with all of those headstones piled in the back corner there. Anyway, very very nice work here. Keep up the exploration! Huzzaahhhh!!!!

Comments:I have read your artical in the paper. I am not a student, I am married with a family that lives locally. I also have a spirit of a boy that had passed away at the age of 19. Not in the house I live in but at college. It took a couple of years to get used to it but the more I research the more I understand. If I can give you a word of advise if you do not already know, spirits can not hurt you. If you experience activity such as your camara being pulled from you, just tell it in a firm voice to knock it off. It will. I know it can be nerve racking at times but just keep in mind it can not hurt you. If you can get records of people that lived their with pictures talking about the girl in the bathroom not neccessarily passing away there but if the eyewittness can view photos of people that lived there could be many years ago, you can identify with the spirit and understand why she is there. The ones you have to be carefull very careful with are the ones at one time had sataic rituals or witchcraft going on. Those are ones you don't want to mess with but again keep your compossure at all times to let it know you are not afraid of it and they will respond to you. Take this as you wish but it is very interesting about the unknown. Good luck.

Comments:I loved your article on Zarephath. Being one who lives in Zarephath, I know first-hand the terrors that inhabit this place. Bigfoot and Frosty the Snowman flash past my windows late at night, with horrible screams [the reason for the hearing protection]. If only you knew that the sophisticated gates are not only to keep things out, but in. The One-Legged Sloth-Kangaroo is the landlord, and those who are behind must take refuge in the fortified barns when it comes time to collect rent.
The Big Bosses will soon find out that I have posted here, and I will probably be the next terrible sacrifice to the Deadly Sparrows. But as long as the truth is out...
I am satisfied.

Comments:as i was saying, about the white deer. i was very fond of albie, as i affectionately called her. i used to work in piscataway from '98 until a year ago, and every day i would take the shortcut through the west end of johnson's park to come out at hoes lane, instead of driving on river road. if you did it early enough in the morning, albie was almost always there. in the winter it was really easy to see her through the leafless trees. i would stop my car for a couple of minutes and just watch her browsing the underbrush. seeing nature up close, such an unusual beautiful version of something as commonplace as a deer, was very soothing to me as i proceeded to a job that i really didn't like and where i had to deal with some really poor examples of humanity. seeing the deer and spending a few minutes in nature kind of centered me before my human dealings began. i am very upset to see that she is no more.
RIP albie. thanks for your website.

Comments:I must say, this website is awesome. It was soo funny when I read the daily targum article and it spoke about your coyote sightings, because that happened to my friend Karen last semester. She came to pick me up at the towers late one night and she was freaking out saying she saw a coyote or a wolf on the road. I thought this was so ridiculous, but she made me drive around with her looking for them again. Needless to say, I've never seen one, but it was just so funny to know she was telling the truth and that there is an entire website filled with this kind of stuff at Rutgers. Rutgers is a weird place!

Those bones sure look familiar.

This Thanksgiving, take a good look at the bones on your turkey. It even has that shape of bone found under the breast meat. I'm not identifying the animal but it sure does look avian. Careful, it could have met its demise from the avian flu.

Eugene

P.S. I've traveled down that road you mentioned with the gravel. It does have an end.
