They lived in an orphanage there for the first 3 years of their life. They were adopted by an American family and brought to U.S. in 1961. They are 50 years old this year, and have never been able to establish any information about their birth or first three years in Italy.

| Comments: | Some relatives I am related too. Dave and Linda Ariganello my parents. Grandpa was Vincent Bruno Ariganello His father was Joseph Bruno Ariganello who came over in 1915 ish. I have relatives in Toronto most of them are my grandpa's cousins. My great grandpa Joseph had a brother name Bruno who moved to Toronto in the early 1900's. Bruno's kids are my grandfathers cousin's.
When I took a trip over to the Italian Navy they said they never heard of my last name and it was very uncommon. When I told them it was from Sera San Bruno they said not to many people go there and the city is a very family oreinted place run by the Ndrangheta. Not sure if this is true since I have never been there. We are a very small family with only a few hundred in the US with that last name. Most of us can be found in the Detroit or Toronto area. He came to Canada in 1901 at 15. He later married Maria Gradia Luccia (b 1886) from Fiorenza(Florence area) who arrived here 1906.They settled in Winnipeg and had 4 children) Maria died in the Spanish Flu epidemic in Winnipeg 1918, leaving my relatives in an orphanage.. My grandfather's name was James Frank Bozzelli (Domenic Francis Bozzelli I think was his real name), was from St. Louis, and was born around 1911. I believe that he was from Calabria and came into the US from South America and not Ellis Island. He did have siblings, although I am not sure exactly who they were. He was married to Georgia Opal (Denusopoulos(sp?)) and they had 3 children: James Jr. (my dad), Sandra, and Cynthia. James Jr. had 4 children: Jodi Ann Bozzelli, Joy Lynn Bozzelli, Janis Audrey Bozzelli, and Jeff James Bozzelli. Sandra married Daniel Bator and they had 4 children: Steven, Laura, Jennifer, and Daniel Jr. Cynthia has been married several times but never had any children. Agnese Avello (b. 1843) married Nicholas Guadagni. I believe they were from Florence. Nicholas was magistrate to the king but lost all his money gambling. I know of 2 daughters one was Judith. Judith went to work in a high fashion store in Naples as a millner to help support the family. Judith came to Brooklyn in 1906. The ship's log states Agnese came at the same time but we think this might have been the sister posing as Agnese b/c 2 women wouldn't have been allowed to travel alone. Judith (b.1874) married Anthony DiMaio (b. July 2, 1886) who was from Naples and supposedly on the same ship. Anthony’s parents were Alphonse DiMaio and Antoinette Ruzzo. Anthony was a barber in the Waldorf Astoria in NY and then a real estate agent. Judith's sister married and had a daughter named Tess who married a Valenti and they had a daughter named Henrietta who married and divorced Joe Torre's son. Venditto children: Tommaso Di Domenico Venditto was born 9/16/1864 in Marcone, Italy Domenicantonio Venditto was born 9/13/1869 in Marcone, Italy. Filomena Venditto was born 4/24/1855 in Marcone, Italy Pasquale Venditto was born 4/1/1873 in Italy. He died 5/27/1877 in Italy. Tommaso Di Domenico Venditto and Maria Teresa Pellegrino Prozzo had the following children: Guiseppa Petronilla Venditto was born 6/29/1885 in Italy. She died 4/8/1925 in 508 Cortland St, Bronx, NY. Domenico Venditto was born 12/25/1887 in Italy. He died 1/1/1889 in Italy. Domenico Pasqualine Venditto was born 9/5/1890 in Italy. He died 7/25/1892 in Italy. Guiseppa came to the Bronx, NY and married Nicholas DeLapo. Looking for info on Salvatore Ambrosino and his wife Maria Allocca. They came from Naples to Brooklyn, NY in 1898. Salvatore's parents were Michael Ambrosino and Concetta who died in childbirth. His 2nd wife was Carmela Franzese. Salvatore had many brothers including Erasmus Ambrosino who also came to Brooklyn. Maria's parents were Joseph Allocca and Catherine Alfieri. Maria had 18 brothers Gavino Bellucci came to Brooklyn, NY in 1901 staying with his daughter Agnese at 302 Union Ave. His wife Filomena Montano and children Pasquale, Elvira and Guiseppe came in 1906 to join him at 240 Union Ave. My gr-gr-grandmother was on the same ship as the wife and children and listed Gavino as who she would be staying with. He md Angelina Longinotti of nearby Prato Sopralacroce and they had 3 sons, James Augustine (Gus), John Battiste, and Joseph. Angelina died and in 1841 John left his sons with his sister, Rosa (Rosie) Crovo and came to USA, to Augusta, GA, where he md Amanda Weaver in 1847. Several children were born in GA, then the family moved to Nashville, TN., ca 1860 purchased land in Donelson, TN (Davidson Co.), several more children were born there.
The three sons came from Italy in 1852, Gus settled in Davidson Co., TN, John B. in Cincinnati, Ohio and Joseph disappeared and was never heard from again by the family. John Augustines's father's name might have been Peter - I do not know his mother's name. He had brothers Vincent (res Baltimore, MD), Dominic (res Richmond, VA), and Joseph (res NY, d in Boston, Mass), and the sister, Rosie (Rosa) Crovo, who res in KY near Cincinnati I believe. I don't know whether John's siblings came over with him or if they came with his sons. I would like to exchange info on this family - would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about any of these people. |

The problem is that my great grandmother (Isabel Yanchulis) divorced my great grandfather and left PA, never to speak of him again. We have desperately tried to find our family tree, but can only go so far.
As I said, my great grandfather’s name was Frank Cecchini (born: 28 Dec 1895, Died: 21 Feb 1963). His mother was Susan and father Peter or Pietro. They came though Ellis Island from Italy (records say from Rargo—not sure if that is correct—in 1893) and had at least two other sons, Michael and Pompia (or Pompeo). All three boys served in the military during WWI, Frank as a pilot. Frank and Isabel had four children: Mary (my grandmother), Francis, Bernice, and another child that died in childhood. My grandmother & her siblings are still alive and sometimes wonder about their father. | Comments: | I am interested in tracing the geneaology on my mothers side. Her maiden name was maria diDonato. Her father name was Tony (Antonio?) and he immigrated here at least 100 years ago. I understand he was born in Sicily. I do not know my grandmother's maiden name, but she was born in Rome. My grandfather was a barber in Baltimore. We do not know what happened to him.

| Comments: | My gg-gf was John Augustine Bacigalupo b 1811 in Carasco, Italy. His father's name may have been "Peter" - I do not know his mother's name. He md Angelina Longinotti - they had 3 sons, James Augustine (1836), John Battiste (1840) and Joseph (ca 1841). Angelina died, John immigrated to U. S. 1841,leaving the boys with his sister, Rosie Crova, the boys immigrated ca 1852.Joseph disappeared by 1860 and was never heard from again, possibly returned to Italy.
John md Amanda Weaver in GA, USA, moved to TN and had a large family. (Their son Paul was my g-gf.) John died in an accident 1891. John had a sister, Rosie Crova, brothers Dominic, Joseph, Vincent and possibly Thomas who all settled in different states. I would like to exchange information on this family - and would appreciate anything anyone can tell me about them - also the Longinottis of Prato Sopralacroce, Italy. This Bacigalupo family is kin to the Barciagalupia and Batch families of Texas and Oklahoma, desc. of John and Amanda's son, Peter. |
