He was born in NY in 1908 and married Winifred Harrison born 1910. Thomas' parents were Thomas (born in Brockton) and Rose. Several years ago we took a trip to Brockton and could not find any birth records of my g-grandfather born approx. in 1884. Could he possibly Native American??? A picture I have of my grandfather in his Navy uniform he does appear to ahave Native American appearance. I am at a dead end trying to find my grandfather's family. On Winifred's family I was able to trace her family somewhat better. Her parents were Henry and Catherine Harrison. Henry's parents were James and Mamie Reagan Harrison. Catherine's parents were Patrick and Bridget Farry Redmond who were both born in Ireland about 1850-1852. I believe that Bridget arrived in Castle Garden in the late 1850's. However, there was no indication that her parents Michael and Catharine Farry accompanied her. Patrick's parents were Patrick and Elizabeth Redmond. That's where their story ends. I am interested in finding info.on Bridget's and Patrick's parents. I was adopted when I was 2. I was born in 1951. Finding everything about my bio. family has been one of my priorities most of my life. I was told that my father was Paul Degeorge and he lived on Second Avenue somewhere between the years 1950-1953. She ws born around 1878 supposedly in Missouri. MY grandmother alway told me that she (my grandmother) was 1/4 Native American and her mother was 1/2. The only tribe I can ever remember being mentioned was Cherokee. Cynthia was married around 1897 in Pittsburg county, Indian Territory, Oklahoma to James Monroe Pearce. I found a Cynthia Sisk in the 1880 census in Missouri with Father listed a John & mother Mary. | Comments: | Oral family history says that my ggm (SALLIE/SARAH JOHNSON/JOHNSTON) was full or part Indian (possibly Cherokee?). Sometime during the [early to mid?] 1800's, the JOHNSON/JOHNSTON family, traveling by wagon, came across a squaw and her small children walking on the side of a road. The Indian mother and her children were ill, and all died except for SALLIE/SARAH, who the JOHNSON/JOHNSTON family raised as their own.
Don't know where the JOHNSON/JOHNSTONS came from or where they were going. SALLIE/SARAH JOHNSON/JOHNSTON [about 35 y/o] was in Union Co., AR [Caledonia] in 1888 when she married my ggf, Morris Fennell [his 3rd wife]. They had 5 children together, and she died in 1899 [bled to death]. Their last child was my gm, WILLIE EMMA FENNELL. SALLIE/SARAH is burried in Union Co., AR. Afterward, MORRIS farmed the children out to some country folk, so there is no one who can tell us about SALLIE/SARAH. |

I know they are from Allumette Island, in the province of Quebec but to find which one is native has almost been a bad night mare no one so far has giving me the information I have requested. I am looking for my information about maternal great-grandfather who came from Germany. His name was Wilhelm Frederick Ziegenbein. He had a brother Johann and sister Johanna. They came to California in the 1800's and founded the town of Lincoln (near Stockton, CA). I don't know when or how he died, of anything about his parents. |
