When I started reading this book I thought it was going to be a bit...below my reading level... and that it wouldn't entertain me very much. Well, I am very glad I was wrong. This book was excellent. From the very beginning it was hard to put it down...I read the last half of the book in one sitting simply because there was no break in the action or suspense. Sam, I tip my hat to you, you wrote an amazing book.

(To the other people leaving comments: Please, I know you're mostly young, but please at least TRY not to destroy the english language.)

Hi. Your book is a great read, and makes people who read it want to read more. Im not suprised people say more, but the book was so big, there can't be more. As my grandfather says, "how many people are literate? About 80% of the world. How many people can write so they understand what they are writing? About 40% of the world. And how many people can write so other people can understand what they are writing? About 15% of the world." You are part of the latter.

Comments and/or questions:

I was simply amazed by how riviting this book was. I'm a natural reader, reading more books than my whole class combined, and I normally find that the books I'm reading are somewhat dull and boring. I'll recomend a book, say it's good, but I think there are only three other series' of books that actually had me thinking in class, "shut up, I want to read my book!" Your book was a new addition to those.
It was very well written, and everything just molded into another thing and kept you thinking "whoa! Gotta find out what happens next!" It was so surprising when something happened that I'd almost rip the page out of the book when I turned it. A lot of the things in it made me giggle hysterically, making my teachers and parents wonder if I was okay (Chunder Muncher...).
I just want to say "bravo!" and "you better be writing a sequel, or at least another book!" The book was amazing, facinating, intruiging...I hope more people read it! I will continue shoving it under people's noses at school, in the hopes that one of them will read it and like it as much as I did. I'm sure, however, that once they sit down to read it, they will!

Thanks for writing this book.

Hi,
I'm not the type of person who reads books i get easily distracted by things so have not really taken to them. Yet when i read your book (one of extreamly few) i found myself getting lost in the story, and not getting bored of it at all, possitivly thrilling. Throughout the book i realised that jack would get his time in the limelight and he did, he s...thought i was going o give the ending away to the people who havnt read it ;).
This book really should be made into a film. i think it would be VERY profitable and attract the attention of many people young and old. That and i really want to see it on big screen ;P.
Good luck writing you book with the dinosaurs in..:P looking fordwards to it

p.s
i have the correct password (i know i do it's here in black and white in front of me), but i cant get onto the sction that is locked.

Hey Sam, I really love your book. I am just into the second "portion" of the book, and I am watching a football game also, as I read I find myself paying more attention to the book than the game! Great read, right now I am struggling to find something that I want to do with my life and the only thing that makes me "leap with joy" at the idea of it, is to be an author. I have actually started writing a book about 1 month ago, I started writing, got about 5 pages down, but I ran out of ideas. Comments and/or questions:

Was walking around in Coles, saw it, asked for it for meh birthday, got it, read it (very fastly) but it was awesome! I especially liked the fighting scenes with Esme.
One of my favourites parts in the book was Jack/typical thing. I laughed every time I read that, especially at the end, when he is sitting on the throne. I must say, the one thing I didn't like was how fast Charlie adapted from School Boy to Demon Hunter.
I'm going to possibly become a writer, you've inspired me, Sam.

I have nonchalantly read through many book not being enticed or infatuated by them. But, the main reason that i start to read your stupendous book was to try to find a novel that could contravene the mold in which fascinating books are defined by. Unforunately, I must critize your novel over on point that there were many unccessary logomachies. I must also compliment your novel fo a couple of reasons. One, I like the first chapter and how it sets the demented tone and mood for the rest of the book. Also, I like the way that the events in your novel are very nonplus to your readrs unless they have carefully read each part very carefully once, twice or even three time. Lastly, your novel was just flat out entertaining to veryone who read it. Thank you for letting me write this, and I WILL be IN TOUCH.
(I am just open mine own fracture and teleport myself to mmet you)

Wow. Until I bought The Black Tattoo I hadn't been able to really get into a book for months. And by getting into I mean forgetting homework, chores, time, and anything else that I could blow off and still live without. I started reading on a Monday, and finished the following Wednesday. The Black Tattoo is amazing and now I can add Sam Enthoven to my list of authors whose books I buy without having to doubt if I'll like them or not. Long live literacy.

Now to be honest when I first started reading I found it a bit dull(sorry). I just don't think I had wrapped my mind around it but when I got to the scene where Jack was speaking with the Dragon I really began to appreciate it. I liked how deep this was and the idea of God being a sort of librarian and proud of his job. You've given me a new way to look at life and as an aspiring writer I thank you.

PS. your going to get hell from the churches- just look what they try to do with Harry Potter. But good luck, I'm looking forward to your next book.

now, with all do respect, this book is an interesting read, but (no offense) compared to my favorite fantasy stories, this just didn't match up. there was no emotion! i mean, terrific storyline, great characters, and great ending, but where was the passion? and it doesn't have to be LOVE!!! for crying out loud, just passion for saving the world... passion for fighting, for, well, love. for love of the other people in the universe. i mean, was all that typical stuff neccesary? come on! jack is the stupidest character i have ever read about! so, right now you might be thinking that i'm just a literature freak, but please take my advice if you write a sequel. ps... wats with the password at the end of the book?

Sam, the totally best book. I only found this book when in Aussie, there was a "bookclub" (no idea if there is one in other countries) were you could buy books off scholastics. But I didn't buy it, it looked weird.
But when I saw it when I was strolling in a bookshop one day, I saw it, and decided to see it. I had to admit, I thought the story revolved around Jessica for a while, but then saw the point. I bought it strait away.
The Websight is great, very funny! I got past the locked section and read the "deleted scenes" And I wish there was more. But even more then that, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please write a sequel, I dying to find out what happens to Jagmat.
No offense or anything, but I don't know if you have actually read this notice before.
You really need some promotions,
X dude

I just had a quick comment. I wanted to say that it's great to see someone like you "make it", as they say, after ten years of hard work. Whenever I read stories of people like you who haven't given up and who made it, it really inspires me, because it's human nature to give up when you consistently don't get something over a long period of time. But people like you make me go on writing, knowing that there is hope for me, too :-)

Keep writing and inspiring us! :-)

I can't wait for your next one! I also hope that maybe there will be a sequel to this one... I found the characters really enjoyable and actually felt a kinship to Jack and what he was going through! He seemed to be the calm within the storm - the one who stabilizes the whole story! Well, anyway, I really did enjoy the book and I hope to see more! Thanks!

I unfurled the cover and read the synopsis, and I at once became transfixed. Ooooh! I loved every breath taking moment of the book I read all 505 pages in a single day! My roomates and such were making fun of me because I was yelling and screaming and making noises through out it's entirity. I reeeaaallly loved this book. I also think it could and would make an awesome movie. Peace. V ^_^
