 I just finished reading it, and I enjoyed it so much. It was the first read in a long time that actually put a different perspective on things. The whole "Godfrey" was very very clever.  Hi. My girlfriend bought the Black Tattoo for me at Christmas and it took about a month for me to read, in fact i just finished it a few minutes ago. It was an absolutely amazing read. The world created in the book just sucks you in. I never wanted to put it down for a second.  I love this book. I got it for christmas and I didnt start reading it until Friday then I read in Saturday and I had to force myself NOT to read it on Sunday and Monday so that I would have somthing to do during my field trip Tuesday! I almost couldn't put it down! I love it so much! I think they should make a movie out of it! I'm the type of reader who when I read I play a movie in my head, and the book was so descriptive that I could almost feel myself in the book! I REALLY think that you (Sam Enthoven) should make a movie out of it!

 I think it was a good book over all but you did go over the top with the explosions behind the eyeballs. I think that once or twice should have been enough. It was an exciting to read and was truly inspiring. I hope you write more books because i will probably read them.

 I loved the black tattoo. I love to read but lately I have been having trouble finding books at my grade level and I can't tell you how great the book was. It is one of the best ones I have read recently, and have ever read. Thankyou Sam Enthoven for writing this book. It is one of the best books ever written!!! I felt like I was in the book, with Jack and Charlie and Esme and of coure the Scourge.I like how the story bulids and the tension keeps you on the edge of your seat, its one of the books you cant ever put down. I recommend this book to anyone but especially to peole who are looking for an adventure and those who want to find an adventure without leaving the confinds of there home.

 I must admit i loved this book. I like to read alot and I don't think there's ever been a book I haven't liked, but after reading this it got moved up to second in my list of favorite books, right after Eragon and before A Great and Terrible Beauty.

 Put quite simply, this book was truly incredible. I could definitely relate to the characters and the events that occurred in the book. I haven't really enjoyed very many good books in a while, and this was certainly a change. The Black Tattoo was AWESOME. I was entertained by both the suspense and humor. It was cleverly thought out.
You're a great author; I can't wait to see more from you.

 hey!well i just finished your book today and i thought it was pretty awsome! Well let me start at the begining, i finished the last harry potter book and i thought that nothing would ever compare to it but you came really close. I'm proud of this because i've been looking for a book that just fits me, well a book with alot of action and fantasy and you don't really find those every day but i guess it depends where you look doesn't it? The black tattoo really kept me there reading chapter after chapter and it all paid off with that ending, i just wanted to have the hope that you would write another book and i would beg you to write another one because i want to know what happens between esme and jack. these kind of books are what inspire me to get better at my writing because in a near future i plan on becomeing a succesful writer myself but i'm just 15 after all. well isn't this a long comment? i was starting to guess that esme and the rest would create another brotherhood because eventually they would miss the action like jack but is that going to happen? Well sometimes sequels are the best sellers anyway.

 I really enjoyed your book. It was one of the best I have ever read amongst the many. The ten years it took you to write it seems to long to wait for another one . Have you though about making a movie about it. I believe it would be a hit for real. With the special effects today it would make a good one.  This book is a fantastic read. I've never been much into martial arts and fantasy, but your book won me over. I really liked Jack's character and your philosophy about an uncaring god (which whilst being more belivable than any other organised religion, is at the same time very funny and human too. I loved the conversation between Jack and Godfrey and later with the Dragon)
Your book is right up there in my pantheon of favourites, amongst Philip Pullman, Philip Reeve, Roal Dahl and Ray bradbury.
Soooooo much better than all that Harry Potter crap.
Your book was a great story and kept me sane throughout a very dull holiday.

 After reading Darren Shan - From the Saga and the Demonata Series. I didn't this The Black Tattoo was going to be up to much good.
