| Comments: | We are 6 beautiful and diva rats you will ever meet. We have a new addition of 3 Dumbos, (1 jet black named Raven, 1 dove named Paws, and 1 mink/russian blue named Kisses). We also have 2 fancy rats,(a fawny hooded girl named Roxy, who is the DIVA of the bunch. Ratty Girl is a blk hooded full grown baby who is the sweetest in the bunch and loves to eat anything,and Rosie our beautiful all white sister (the only one with red eyes). We allow our owner, Meri< to stay with us because she is very nice to us. She feeds us lots of fresh veggies and fruits twice daily with crunchies to munch during the day. Roxy, Rosie and Ratty are allowed to run free during the day when she is home because we can behave as much as a rat can. The Dumbos are new and still in training. We wish she would have known a long time ago about how rats were because she was a cat person all her life and would have been a rat person instead. We are a great part of her life even though she has 2 children and a hubby. We love them too. The kids feed us oranges, apples and grapes when they are eating them and we love that the most. We are truly happy with our family. |

| Comments: | My daughter gave me a rat for a pet 2 weeks ago. Initially I was very squeamish - thinking all rats shold be consigned to gutters. But this little guy has captured my heart. aaaaaahe is just SO cute. He gets quite excited when I approach his cage, so I have to take him out for an hour or so, 3 or 4 times a day.
One question please. Can you interpret a rat's vocqabulary. I thought he would just squeak when he was in trouble, but he often makes little squeaky noises (Is he squeaking to me?). he also makes little clicking noises and one or two others that I can't describe. How do I know if he is happy or not. I am more used to cats, who purr or wave their tails around. Thanks for a great site. I couldn't explore it all in one evening, so I have bookmarked it, and will be back soon. |

| Comments: | I adore your website. It is very educational, it certainly teaches people about rats, and I hopes the website clears up any misconceptions our society has about rats. Very few people truly understand how wonderful these creatures are, and so they often refuse to respect rats. Most think of a rat as "filthy", or "ugly", or associate rats with the bubonic plague. I consider this cruel. If any one of these skeptical individuals simply saw a domesticated rat like my ADORABLE Piccolina, their hearts would melt for sure. Your rats are so cute (I think Piccolina agrees)- may I suggest you include more photoghraphs of your Literary Rats so everyone can come to cherish rats just as I do Piccolina, you do your precious angels, and thousands of other rat-fanatics have come to do throughout the world!

| Comments: | i have signed this book before. my two rats passed away a few months ago.i was on vacation when one died the other i put to sleep because she had three tumors i don't know how they got there. one was bigger than a golf ball! my friend kendel was there when it happened and we all cried. i'm only 11 and I lost one in august and one in october. it was very hard. i want to tell everyone that tumors are very bad. if your rat gets one and you don't want to remove it. then just put it to sleep. it's really hard to do but I waited too long and she sort of suffered.in memory of Motzi and Cheeseball i love you good bye |

| Comments: | Well it's me again (shannon), the one with the Albino Rex (Boomer), well.. he is doing just fine and wanted you to know that i got my new little baby Merang! she is a silver fawned Silk and shes 6/7 weeks old. she is the cuttest little one ever, and SOOO very soft. not exactly all that jumpy like every one says females are.. she never moves when we hole her... but shes great :) !. Boomer seems to like her Quite a lot, being like 6 months old, and her not old enough to be sexually mature, he seems to be in love! keeps her warm all the time, and sleeps with her, doesnt rest till hes with her... oh yes i would definately say he is in love! she doesnt havea problem with him either, she likes his body heat.. and enjoys it when he cuddles with her. i love rats, they are so great... showing them off to every one and having everyone comment on my gorgeous Duo makes me so proud! For those of you who are afraid of these little critters, or think they are dirty vermans, you have no idea how wrong you are, Rats are just like mini cats who love to get their ears and necks scratched and love your affection more then anything. | Comments: | i bought 4 females at the beginning of december 2002. i had another once before but she passed so i decided to get more. my boyfriend hated rats until i got my first one an albino we called her natasha she was rescued from being snake dinner. then i got a creme with pink eyes and a solid black. my creme is still with us her name is sabrina. the black passed at a young age from respitory trouble her name was tabatha. my boyfriend pawned over natasha and tabatha so i went and got three more to keep sabrina company. i bought a creme hooded-her name is umma, another black-her name is endora, and a black hooded-named leena.
well i came home one day and endora had 9 babies under her. she must have bred before i bought her. i was not looking to breed but now i got 9 munchins. 4 boys and 5 girls. so it seems. they have not opened thier eyes yet the were born on the 19th of this month. i got a black dutch type color and a mousey gray dutch type and the rest look as though they will be white or creme. the only name i have given the babies at this point-i call them the rug rats lol. i plan to keep the 2 colored ones they are girls and name them- ursula and mona. they are my first rat babies and hopefully my last for awhile lol. i rescued thier mom and the others from being snake dinner also. so now i have bought a second 55 gallon high for the boys and the girls have 2 tanks one 55 and one 10. i fear to put endora back in the 55 with the others girls. so i plan to keep the 2 dark babies to live with her. thanks for having info to help out with new rat baby owners. |

However now he does seem to care for them and he does hold them. They, Henry and Standly belong to our daughter and son. They do seem to love them very much. The boys are very good to our children. Matter of fact my husband's boss went out with his son and got one.
I do have one question and really don't know who to ask. Maybe you can help us. Standly the oldest seems to make alot of noise He's never done that befor and now we are worry about him. He is still eating, however he seems to cry alot. Just makes noise even when he is just resting.Is it normal for rats to grunt? And if not what shall we do? |

His name is Boomer (Nick names:Boom Boom for short, big balls.. boomer wet sacks <-- all those exceot Boom Boom my own mother made up. pretty scary:P..) He is an Albino Rex rat and let me say, hes quite the handsome little guy. He is sweet when hes tired, and rambunctious when he isnt. But i love him not matter what. he is terrified of my cat Motor, and scares the heck out of my 6 year old Dog Dakota, only by walking around because when she gets too close to him.. he bites her nose :). i got him at the pet shop where they had him all alone because no one wanted an albino rat with curley fur (rex's), and kept him in pine bedding, which may have caused him respiratory infestions, but gladly he is fine.. and only sneezes when he gets near pepper :). I just want to say thatrats are one of the best pest aside from the regular dogs and cats, these guys are so easy to bring around in public, and they really know how to attract their own attention....even when they are only taking some air on your shoulder. he loves to sleep in my purse and whenhe cant get into that.. hell force me to let him sleep in my sweater sleeve... little bugger gets mad when i dont let him. For anyone who has an Albino rat, or a light coloured rat, if they have a red discharge around their eyes and nose.. dont be alarmed.. its only due to stress and/or nervousness. like if you change thier house all the time, and they are all alone, or they are afraid of another pet and they smell them.. when they clean themselves they will have this discharge that looks like blood.. but its not. Take a Qtip with warm water (not soaking...youll get the water in their eyes) and gentley wipe it away and problem solved :D. The first day i got Boomer, put him in his aquarium.. went straight to the water stuck his right arm in.. then his left.. and STUCK his head right in there! funny little guy ! For everyone who has a rat... YOU ARE THE COOLEST !! RATS ARE THE BEST.. THE SWEETEST.. AND THE CUTEST! i liked this site a lot.. and the pictures you gus took.. are great. good luck inthe futur with your rats and the site.

| Comments: | Hi ratties! I think that it is really cool to meet some other rats with proper names (at one point, I had to share a cage with a girl named "Snoodles! crazy!). I am named after Joanna the Mad, after a Spanish Queen, but everyone calls me "MommaJo" or "Jo-bear".
I am a very helpful rat to have around when my pet human is surfing the 'net. I make her go to all of the rat webpages, and if she doesn't, I jump up and down on her keyboard until the computer crashes! I really like your webpage, and that's why I'm making my human type this. (She can tell that I like your page, because her computer is still running. But I'll give her a bluescreen of death before the night is over, have no fear.) |
