Comments:Unfortunately due to abusive messages in the name of Ian Brady and all sorts of other individuals, posting distasteful comments about Jill Dando and others, we have decided to stop new messages from being posted. We hope to produce a new guestbook where messages have to be approved before they appear. We hope this will combat the problem.

Thank you to everyone who has posted messages of support and who have sent kind messages for Barry.

By the way, if anyone claiming to represent a group, organisation or support group wish to make a statement you are welcome. But please have the courage to give a name. I have.

Comments:The problem with the Serb theory is the fact that Jill no longer resided at Gowan Avenue. No evidence that she was followed.
Of course if it were the Serbs they will never admit it.
But if it was not and was not a robbery gone wrong then there might be a chance of solving it. Did Jill Dando have a 1999 diary? Why were her clothes disposed of so soon? Whose DNA was found on her gate? Was DNA found on the cartridge? I hear it can now be detected from sweat residue on metal.

Comments:Hi Mike
You may have seen the posting from the former Met policeman who seems to know something about guns.He thought the biggest clue was the cartridge which was obviously loaded in eastern europe(The case was made in the USA).He wanted to know why Campbell didnt follow up the Serb connection.

There can only be one reason and that is he was told not to.Proving that is another question and I think my friend in the press has now got cold feet because he would be taking on 'The Establishment'.

During the bombing of Serbia by NATO in the Kosovo stand off the British public were told only bridges and infrastructure would be hit.Typical of what happened was that 60 people on a train were killed when the bridge was bombed. It surprised me that the Serbs didnt start a bombing campaign in european cities or sent a ship load of explosives into a port somewhere in the UK.

The attack on Serb TV Killed a young woman who president Milosovic looked upon as a daughter. My understanding of Serb attitudes told me there would have to be a personal response to that and thats one reason Jill was the target.

Who knows maybe the truth will be exposed but I doubt the British press will do it.

I dont like smart bomb diplomacy it only makes you enemies that can only retaliate by terrorist methods.

Like you say Mike the world is full of parasites and some of them are politicians

I am afraid I have become very cynical re the 'free' press. I was once told that they report on the 'truth' as they want us to 'know' it. Therefore I hold little hope of them seeking the 'real' truth, whatever that might be.

As regards the infamous News Of The World interview, that was not really Barry's considered choice. He was under very unfair pressure from those who should have protected him from such 'noble' publications. I tried, but I was on my own in that and unfortunately at present Barry may be in unsafe hands. What a grotesque end to eight years of campaigning, but such is life. There are parasites everywhere.

Comments:To Mike of JfB

I hope your nephew gets his life back on the rails. Many people Have contributed to this great result but the support of his family must have been a mainstay when Barry was in prison.

The particle evidence put Barry in jail and yet it should have been kicked out at the original trial because it really showed that Barry had NOT handled the murder weapon.I knew the circumstances surrounding Jill's murder and from Day one I was convinced it was the Serbs.Due to my personal cicumstances I did not know Barry was on trial fro the murder .If I had I would have thrown my hat in the ring.I am probably a bit unusual in that I was familiar with the testing techniques that was used to analyse the particle and had been into guns for nearly forty years.

It seems to me that Campbell knew full well that Barry was not the killer and there must have been political inteference in the investigation because someone didnt want to see the headline'Blair's Balkan War Kills Our Jill'

I is now up to the press to expose this if they can.I should add that the former second in command of the investigation in the infamous News of the world article last weekend mentioned every other theory apart from the Serbs.Strange in view of the intelligence evidence and there could only have been three motives. An underworld hit man,a stalker and retaliation by the Serbs.

Anyway Mike congratulations it has been a major triumph for your family and for justice.

best wishes colin

Comments:The former Yugoslavia was a major arms manufacturer. For some reason they also made some special guns that must have been made for official assasins.

About 20 years ago one of our club members was on holiday in Yugoslavia and somehow he managed to buy one.It looked like a fountain pen and fired a single 22 bullet.I presume the technology has moved on a bit since then.

The article in the Guardian implied that there were no extracter or ejector marks on the spent case recovered. If this were true the gun was something very special because it behaved like a normal self loading pistol

anyway this is my last posting on anything to do with guns

best wishes to you all colin

I am not at all surprised that after the broadcasting of potentially substantial compensation for being wrongly convicted, that women have come out of the woodwork to cry "rape". No doubt more will suddenly appear out of nowhere who will do exactly the same thing.

At the moment nobody knows whether he will be able to claim compensation. Many inmates I know about who were released on appeal have been denied this. The few who actually get compensated, then find themselves paying a large chunk of it to HMP Service for "board and lodging".

We all have a past and yes Barry has done some terrible things,
Barry has served a sentance for a crime that he is INNOCENT for, how is this fair regardless of his past?
If he stalks or rapes or what ever else then punish him for that. But surely Jill's family deserve to see the correct guilty person brought to justice? and that is not Barry. Rape is rape, staliking is stalking... these do not add up2 murder.
Good luck Barry and best wishes to the Dando family.

It is not my intention to post anything more about the Serb connection. Its up to the press to get at the truth but I intend to give them a hand.

Comments:I think it is fair to say that Barry only got off through the help of Raphael Rowe's documentary has he had done a considerable amount of research on the FDR Particle. I mean his case was not going anywhere until people had saw the documentary and the subsequent chain of events when the CCRC comissioned a new report on the FDR in late 2006. Therefore all the applauds should not be going to Scott Lomax and his Solicitor but to Rap Rowe.

Finally, the Serb theory is possible reason why Jill was gunned down but there is no clear evidence thats points to the Serbs and only from what I have read from here about the Gun.

To anyone interested, there's a discussion currently going on at the Guardian's "Comment is Free" about the possible Serbian connection. I've put the link up below my name.

I think it would be great if Barry or Michele joins in! (Or maybe just Michele if Barry wants to take a well-deserved break from this experience.) Or, of course, anybody else here who likes online debate.

Stars and Celebrities have a right to be out, but must always know there are people who idolise them and look up to them too, as this was probably the case, but to actually put the blame on Jill's murder onto Barry was dispicable in the least.

Comments:Dave it’s correct what Colin has written here MI5 did in fact receive information that the notorious Arkan was behind Jills’s death. The BBC also had recorded death threats from Serbs. After Jill was murdered the caller rang again and said now do you understand how pissed off we are. The initial target was John Birt the boss of the BBC but when MI5 found information about the Serbs security was stepped up and he was moved from the BBC then Arken changed his target to Jill. Jill received a written letter from Serb officials expressing criticism about the Kosovo appeal she hosted. The Belgrade building attack, The Kosovo Appeal and her death all were very close together. Dave I understand that you are very patriotic to your Serb Comrades but the proof is all there and the reasons the Pratt Hamish Campbell chose to ignore it was simply because it would be impossible to bring the perpetrator to justice. If it is any consolation to poor Jill’s family Arken was killed in 2000 in a Hotel and was assassinated by an off duty Police Officer. I think what sealed Jill’s fate was the Kosovo appeal because these Serbs are like Nazi’s on Jews.

I was never in any doubt that he could not have committed the crime, his executive skills are poor and therefore would not be able to organise this crime. I conveyed my thoughts to the prosecuting barrister at the time but was told I didn't know all the facts. As it has transpired neither did they.
I hope that Barry will now get the help he needs for his mental and physical well being. He has been let down by society. Good luck to him.

We argued with friends who were happy to go along with the jury's verdict and always said that "one day this will be another miscarriage of justice".

We are delighted that that day has finally come.

Good luck to Barry and his family in re-building your lives.

We also hope that Jill's family and friends will finally accept that the wrong man was convicted and now perhaps the police can get on with finding the real killer which we are convinced is a contract killer, most likely to do with some-one arrested through Crime Watch.

Comments:Good evening Dave nice to have a posting from Serbia

At the time of jills murder a defacto state of war existed between the UK and Serbia so the Serbs were free to retaliate in any way they saw fit.

MI5 had information that Jills murder had been ordered by Arkan the leader of the Serb tigers.

As Karadic is now in jail at the Hague he may be able to shed some light on this.I would add that had the assasin been a Serb under international law he would probably be immune from prosecution because of the undeclared state of war.

I spent nearly 40 years shooting pistols for a hobby and the cartridge case recovered at the scene suggested to me that the complete cartridge was made in the former Yugoslavia.I think we are all agreed that Jill was killed by a professional assasin.Whose professional assasin is the question but I think we can eliminate Barry George.

All the best Colin

Comments:The people pushing the "Serbian hypothesis" are living in fantasyland. No one here - I've lived in Serbia for several years - has heard of Jill Dando and the authorities had better things to do while being bombed daily by NATO than send teams of assassins to murder obscure foreign TV presenters. The reason this line of enquiry wasn't pursued is because it's science fiction, the News of the World trying to join two current stories to build a bigger one. And James Johnson: Milosevic had a son and a daughter, Marko and Marija. Both are still alive and living in Russia with their mother. This is hardly inside information - try Wikipedia for starters.

Hamish Campbell KNEW from the start that Jill's execution was ordered by the Serbs but he chose not to take that route because he knows full well that the chances of capturing a hired Assassin is almost impossible. He chose Barry to secure a RESULT regardless of it being the right one. Scotland Yard even promoted him from DI to DCI at poor Barry's expense. Hamish Campbell should be BEHIND BARS because he is not fit enough to clean my toilet let alone anything else. A complete disgrace to The Metropolitan Police

I also can not understand why Campbell did not take the Serb connection very seriously in view of the intelligence evidence and the fact they had used a pistol in the rare calibre of the murder weapon(9mm short) for 25 years in the past.

The bombing of Serb TV was very controversial and the fact that a young woman was killed who was a favourite of President Milosovic probably signed Jill's death warrant.

I wonder if there was political interference in the investigation because nobody wanted to see the headline 'Blair's Balkan War Kills Our Jill'

Now into standard operating procedure mode: Namely, blacken the name of the victim as perfected after the de Menezes state sponsored murder. Presumably as a way to reduce compensation. However, by allowing comment on this topic, the Daily Mail has shown itself to be the only part of the MSM with a backbone. The Times, Telegraph and other gutless wonder media whores are not allowing comment and getting the story off the front pages as soon as decently possible. "I was only obeying orders." Barry George's conviction has been an embarrisment to me and many other Police Officers over this last 8 years. I was amazed he was convicted originally on such evidence, which was all circumstantial. This was a cold blooded execution carried out by a professional assasin. The origin of the bullet, which was loaded by a person from somewhere in Eastern Europe was the biggest clue of all. I would like to know why Ch Insp Campbell and his team ruled out a link with Serbia and the war in the Balkans, which was in very much in the news at the time. I think we all deserve to know the reason why?

It soured what should have been a great family event. Anyone who has read the story in that bastion of the free press will understand my disquiet.
By the way, in July 2001, MOJO used a prosecution witness, Amanda Stocks, in a stitch up where photos of Barry which I had refused to sell were smeared across the centre of the July 8th edition, under the headline THE IMP WHO GREW INTO A DEVIL. Amanda Stocks was genuine, and the News Of The World done no wrong, but MOJO were despicable then. See you in court if you disagree with me, MOJO.

Justice for Barry is not just about justice for Barry(That has now be achieved) it is about justice for Jill.

The police have shown sour grapes about the decision of the jury.Well tough! the police should have got it right in the first place instead of fitting up an innocent man.

It has always been my opinion that the Serbs were responsible for the murder and there was intelligence information presented at the original trial that Arkan Radifan Karadics enforcer had ordered the murder. The jury didnt buy it because the particle evidence was used by the prosecution to imply that Barry had handled the murder waeapon and as a result of this he was convicted of the murder. The police should have paid a lot more attention to the Serb connection because the Serbs had used a pistol in the rare calibre of the murder weapon for 25 years in the past.

Karadic is now in prison at The Hague so the police should interview him .He may admitt something. He is going down for life anyway.

However its not clear to me even if the killer were identified that we could prosecute him.At the time an effective state of war existed as we were bombing Serbia so the Serbs were free to retaliate in any way they saw fit.It could be under international law the killer would be immune from prosecution.

again Barry congratulations!! colin

You can get some details of my unbelievable arrest on David Mery’s blog over here http://gizmonaut.net/blog/uk/dna_retention_of_unconvicted_people.html

Lynne Featherstone my Mp stuck it up on her blog and the BBC were going to cover it but it was halted at the very last minute details here

I wonder if Government ministers have been threatened regarding this affair? I believe it's long overdue for the adversarial system to be scrapped altogether: We need a Truth seeking inquisitorial system which sits with empathic individuals and unmasks criminal minds. Our pathocrats with their gangster friends stand in the way combined with underwhelming Government ministers. Who wants to live in a Psychopaths' world: No one but the Psychopaths!! It's not just Barry, but Stefan Kiszko and many others whose name escapes me. Finally, it makes me puke about the likes of Myra Hindley who fits the predator's profile how anyone can doubt she did or was involved. Barry & Stefan, thumbs up: Thumbs down for Myra by all accounts of police, inmates etc. Who needs Psychopaths whether inside or out of the legal system: All work to the detriment of society: Humanity is alien to them.

I identify with your case; British, living most of our lives in France, our son, Richard (at 16) was accused of a serious crime (not murder) in 1999. It was a case based on a lie and suppositions (proved in the penal file) but, even despite the opinion of the public prosecutor that there was a doubt, Richard was condemned. The court case itself was such a sham, we simply tried to turn the page. But it broke Richard, and he's still suffering.

We're knocking at all doors to try and get the case re-opened.

I respect that you don't need other peoples' problems, especially at this time, nor is the GB legal system the same as the French. But the result of your appeal inspired me to send you my best wishes for your futures.

Nor can I help in anyway in finding Jill's murderer, and my thought are with her family too.

Jill Dando's Execution was ordered by Arkan a Bosnian Racketeer. The BBC admitted receiving Phone threats from Serbian Government Officials that claimed one of their presenters would be KILLED. It is also now known and proved that Jill received a letter from a Serb source criticizing her involvement in the Kosovo appeal however The Police chose to ignore this because they knew it would be so hard to catch a contract killer? If Alexander Litvineko had NOT been killed by Polonium 210 you can bet your life that the Police would have pinned the murder on some innocent person dinning at the restaurant.

Having recently had my own run-in with the police, it seems that they care nothing for the facts and are only interested in adding to their statistics: "Justice" seems to be completely irrelevant to them, and if they can possibly bend the facts to fit their theory then they will happily do so - even to the extent of ignoring real evidence that undermines their case. I know how hard the last couple of years has been on me: I can not even begin to understand what Barry has been through. Whilst it is too much to hope that the idiot scum who put Barry in the dock will ever be punished, I hope that you fight for and achieve some reasonable compensation for the theft of 8 years of your life....and when you do get the compensation I suggest you get out of this godforsaken country which is rapidly becoming a police state !

I attended most days at the appeal (and some days at the re-trial) and was appalled, although not surprised, at the decision to re-try the case which I believe to have been malicious and vindictive. The fact that he sits there and answers all questions put to him clearly points to the fact that he was co-operating with the enquiry with the the sole reason that he had nothing to hide and indeed nothing to fear. I feel nothing but shame for the judicial and police system and nothing but sympathy for a man that has endured 8 years in prison for a crime that he did not commit nor was capable of commiting. I know it must be hard for him to put that behind him and move forward however in the eyes of the law and common sense he is now a free man.

Disgusting. The BBC should be ashamed of themselves.

Comments:Well done barry on being found not guilty of the murder (finally). Always thought you were innocent and just being used as a scapegoat. Now the police have some real work to do to find the killer and after nine years thats going to prove more difficult than before. Once again well done made up for you mate.

Unbelievable stuff.

But nonetheless a travesty that so many years of Barry's life have been taken away by the ineptitude of the police and the bias reporting of the media.

Good on you Barry!

How could they have sent an innocent man to prison for 8 years over a small single speck of gunpowder residue????

Good for him

Comments:Congratulations, we're really pleased you have justice at last! We have experienced MOJ in the family (fortunately not for murder, released now but we're still fighting for justice) and thought your experience followed the same pattern - find someone who doesn't know the system and Book 'em Danno!. Anyway, well done to Sis, we know how hard you must have worked for this.

Comments:So he committed, fraud, rape, stalking, assumed the identity of a police officer, stole the i.d. of an sas man to open up an account and we are all to assume that George was a simpleton who could not have carried out the murder of Jill Dando?

You Brits are so stupid.

Comments:Well done Barry, the truth came out. All the best to you and hopefully you'll be able to put it all behind you and live a happy life.

One thing that bothered me after the trial is this statement by Commander Simon Foy - "We are disappointed by today's verdict but especially disappointed for Jill's family and friends. However, we respect the decision of the court."

A miscarriage of justice created by sloppy police work get blown apart by the truth and he's "disappointed", it really says a lot about the modern police farce.

Comments:The articles pouring out from various newspapers show that they were ready for this result. Let's give Scott Lomax the credit for all the work he did while opinion was against Barry.

It's easy to jump on a bandwagon when it's rolling, much harder to get it started. Congratulations Scott, thank God there are writers like you out there.

Comments:Firstly let me say that idiots like j (post below, which i hope is removed for the un-necessary profanityand bad spelling) should actually inform themselves of the facts before posting such a useless comment. anyway..... here is what i have to say!

After 8 years of hard work, heartache and misinformation from various agencies it must be such a relief to finally confirm what a lot of people felt all along. Barry is innocent.Congratulations to all of you. I'm sure it will take BG a long time to recover from this trauma, and my thoughts and best wishes are with him.
My husband and I ( oh my i sound like the queen!) both let out a cheer when the news broke of the not guilty verdict, it has been a case we have followed closely due to our belief from the beginning that Barry was a convenient scapegoat. Best wishes and good luck with your future Barry
