Comments:I am currently a third year student studying a BSc in Policing and Criminal Investigation, at Staffordshire University and I am currently writing a report on the case of Jeremy Bmaber.
Your book has given me a great insight into the case, and raised many flaws in the forensics, police inital searches and Jeremy's original trail.
Keep up the good work, and I hope that in the future the full picture of what happened, that September night at White House Farm, will come to light and that justice will finally be served.
Many thanks.

Comments:The case of Jeremy Bamber has always fascinated me. I remain unsure weather he is guilty or not guilty having read the evidence. But what I think is grossly unfair is that Jeremy was convicted by a majority verdict based on circumstancial evidence and I personally feel that it is grossly unfair on that basis to condem somebody to prison on a whole life tariff. There needs to be stronger evidence. I am also sceptical of the evidence of Essex Police. Further more it is very harsh that Jeremy has not been allowed to have his category A status downgraded.I would love to hear other peoples views and comments on this case. My regards Robert Evans.

Comments:hi scott..in the middle of reading your jeremy bamber book..always thought he was guilty but now i,m having second thoughts..the evidence against him seems pretty flimsy and circumstantial...destroying the exhibits in 1996 seems to be a major error along with the botched crime scene investigation carried out in 1985..i,m sure if it went to trial now he,d be aqquited..looking forward to the rest of the book and hopefully seeing jeremy free in the near future..keep up the good work...jonathan

Comments:Just finished the Jeremy Bamber book- fantastic reading - now hopfully he will be a free man really soon. Having visited the whereabouts etc... ( i live in Maldon ) there seems to be someting not right. If he was to have left the farm house and travel over fields ,along the sea wall, pass the osea caravan park he would have gone a long way pass his house then having to ride back either over more mud or back along the main road! It dont add up.Also it would have taken a lot lot longer than 15 mins. Also what about the extended family were they interviewed about there where abouts etc..on that night. They seem to have a big grudge against jerermy, and now they have the lot. Perhaps they stitched him up.( just my view )

Comments:I would like to say that even though I may not like the look of Joanne Lee's I still have thought about her evidence with an open mind. It's full of hole's and inconsistent tales. Bradley Murdoch has admitted to a lot of things but never once this horrendous crime. Think about it, if the car was moved there had to have been a second person driving it, because she says no-one came back. So how did he drive two vehicles at once? DNA evidence was found, 2 years later by the same "expert" who sent Lindy Chamberlian to jail by saying paint spatter was foetal blood. Miss Lee's denied certain things that were proven to be thruthful, then admitted to practice the hands behind to front before going to court, she was shown pictures of Murdoch, his dog, and vehilce after describing them differently, then positively identified them in court while denying at first she had seen them previously. I may be believe that Murdoch is innocent, but is the real evidence points to him then so be it, but I cant see that happening. And in response to the profitting on the sensationalising on peoples lives and hurting victims and families, did anyone stop to think about murdoch's family? They didn't ask to be hounded and put down by this, he wasn't allowed to go to his parents funeral's because he couldn't tell the police where Falconio's body was. That to me is showning that something is truely wrong here, he would have given anything to be able to say good-bye but couldn't. Just because he looks like a criminal, (which no-one can help how we look, especially if we've been wrongy imprisoned then set free then re-arrested on the first step out of court), has admitted to some criminal activity does not make him a murderer. I think the legal system is in serious trouble if a person can be convicted of murder when no body has been found, is that person really dead? I fully believe we no longer have a justice system as there is no justice, it's just a legal system!

Comments:I agree with the comments below. It is disgusting to attack Joanne Lees based on her personality. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I must say I have strong reservations about her account, but that is not the same as saying she's guilty of the crime. There are many, many question marks surrounding her story but does that mean her story is untrue? I would rather concentrate ont he facts. As I see it, there is no explanation as to how Falconio's vehicle ended up far away, in a ditch. How did it get there? If guilty, Murdoch drove his truck but according to Lees no one came back. So how did the van Falconio and Lees had been driving in, get moved?

Comments:It's disgusting to read comments from some people like "I just don't like Joanne Lees" the implication being that therefore she must be guilty. These are the kind of comments that are made by the pitchfork-wielding yokels that in bygone times burned innocent women as witches.
Overwhelming evidence points to Murdoch. Poor Joanne Lees has suffered three-fold - experiencing an horrific ordeal, the loss of her boyfriend and the accusations by the media, fuelling small-minded conspiracy theorists like some of your readers.
Murdoch has been convicted in a court of law on many points of evidence. He has appealed and lost those appeals. Of course, if you believe that there is inconsistent evidence then you are free to investigate the facts. If you do so with full objectivity and no prejudice, then you can keep your integrity and respect. Just consider the potential damage to innocent victims and families that will have to endure more false accusations, while you profit from sensationalising the unfortunate events of others.

If ever i found the time I could write a few true crime books myself.
I've finished one about an extremely controversial case here in Australia.
I've come at crime from several angles; I've worked in prisons for a number of years and been the confidant of some serial killers and violent offenders.
I've studied criminology and profiling techniques.
And last, but definitely not least I have headed up a few successful Psychic Detective cases.
Perhaps I will try one day to find more time to write.
I do however have a few small articles on a freelance writing site (Associated Press).

Discussion of serbian hitmen would have caused a conviction almost without doubt. If things weren't covered during the defence case itself, they were through cross examination when the prosecution were giving their case.

All the best,

Comments:Yes certainly, although the defence hasn't totally finished yet. The case itself has but they'll be saying a lot in their closing statement on Tuesday (unless there's another delay).

The defence opened with a number of statements from people who were on Gowan Avenue on the morning of the murder, each stating that they saw no one loitering. That's crucial because it contradicts the prosecution statement that Barry (or indeed the killer) was waiting all morning for Jill to turn up. A number of witnesses said no one was loitering or even seen at 11:20am, ten minutes before the murder.

The defence then called an expert on textile fibres who told the court that the textile fibre allegedly from Barry’s trousers was insufficient proof. He said not enough tests were performed on it to be sure of its origin and that the tests had given different results. One time the test showed the fibre on Jill’s raincoat was a match. The second time the test showed there wasn’t a match. The test wasn’t performed a third time. The witness said the tests had been inconclusive and also pointed out that Barry’s jacket which he allegedly wore that day shed lots of fibres but there were no fibres from his jacket on Jill’s raincoat.

They then called a witness to discuss Barry’s epilepsy and cognitive impairment. The witness told the court that Barry’s severe epilepsy meant his police interviews could not be relied upon and that he could be misconstrued as lying. He then said that Barry’s learning difficulties put him in the bottom one percent of the population in respect to his ability to plan and organise his activities.

The defence then brought a key witness who had been on Gowan Avenue on the morning of the murder. She claims to have been parked across the road from Jill’s unlived in house. This isn’t in dispute. She says at 7am she was getting boxes from 17 Gowan Avenue and packing them into her car. This activity took around 15 minutes. The woman said she did not see a car double parked next to hers and she saw no man. This contradicts the prosecution’s key witness who says at 7am there was a double parked car with Barry George wiping its windscreen! Truly good evidence!

The defence closed with Clegg telling the jury that Barry had been stopped, questioned, arrested etc 17 times between 1980 and 1999 and that he had been questioned routinely along with hundreds of others about the Rachel Nickell murder, a crime which DNA later showed was committed by another man. This was mentioned to show that Barry could quite innocently have believed he was going to be questioned over the Jill Dando murder resulting in his need to find out where he was that day. The prosecution had claimed an innocent man wouldn’t have needed to determine an alibi.

However, without appearing to be rude to you, maybe because it involves travellers, you, like many others who have offered to help may well choose to shy away from it. Comments:I have finally found someone that supports my theory that Bradley Murdoch may not have murdered Falconio in Australia. The scant evidence should never have been given to police in the UK, the case was not one that even involved them. Their involvement should have been aimed at Falconio before he left England to come here, and the same goes for Lees. Her whole story was an ever changing series of fibs. Both were drug abusers, and therefore out of touch with reality, so why should I believe her?

I can't see how another bout of hundreds of thousands of public funds can be used and justified as being used wisely. The best thing to do and wouldn't cost as much, give Barry £350.000 for his trouble & let him go now.

Comments:I am a 44 year old woman who was brought up to believe in the judicial system of Great Britain. I believed that if you are law abiding and work hard you get on in life and nothing 'bad' happens to you.
I also worked in the judicial system for 7 years as a Criminal Justice liaison nurse.
In February 2005 my brother's girlfriend was found dead, she was half naked, burnt, and sexually assaulted, on a public footpath along side a river.

In March 2005 my brother was arrested and charged with murder. In November 2006 he was found guilty of her murder.

There was NO forensic evidence to link my brother to this horrendous crime.

Sperm was found on her body yet my brother had a vasectomy in early 90s and was proved to be sterile!

The prosecution sent a DNA sample to the FSS DURING the trial of a suspect they never arrested or brought in for questioning. We do not have the result! This information was found in the unused material.

This suspect also bragged of being able to carry out the 'perfect murder' months before she was found dead and spoke of details no one knew until weeks AFTER the murder!

He has a history of violence and sexual deviance. Yet he was not arrested or charged with the murder. He lied in all his statements and lied on oath.

My brother had never been in trouble with the law apart from the odd speeding fine. He worked hard and told the truth. He DID NOT kill his girlfriend. The evidence of this is overwhelming yet 12 people found him guilty and he was sentenced along with me and my family to 22 years imprisonment.

Iresigned from my post as a criminal justice liaison nurse.I could no longer walk into court and believe in the system.

Courts are a circus, a gamble on who represent you, who the jury is, which Barrister tell the better story, which jury member stays awake, who reads the papers, which are biased for the CPS, during the trial that influences your thoughts.

I now fight to clear my brothers name, my families name, for a girl who was robbed of justice and to put the rightful man behind bars.

Website as above but new website coming soon.

www.justice4kevinnunn.co.uk

I am glad there is someone else who is also campaigning for justice and to highlight the need for change in our Judicial System and most of all, policing in Great Britain.

Regards

Donna

I am a resident of Darwin, Australia, and am a strong believer of innocence until 'proven' guilty, and I think the biggest judicial mistake in all of this is, as you too state, there is no body - there's definately something fishy somewhere... as with the much-publicised case of Lindy Chamberlain 20-something years ago, in which Lindy was acquitted many years later... Comments:Your information on the Carine case is rubbish. Luziac was not wanted at the time of the smuggling for drug trafficking. Neither did 'they show he had tried to obtain nuclear weapons'. There case is very different from the CA case you quote. These two men knew full well what they were doing. Does it not seem odd to you that two experienced pilots thought they were workking for Air America 12 years after the film of the same name. Further their ID cards were issued 'supposedly' at the airbase in Saigon used by the Americans during the Vietnam war. Two experienced pilots would know this is ridiculous. It was designed to fool the uniformed, not them. - [Note from S. C. Lomax: There is indeed a real organisation within the CIA called Air America. That's a fact and is not disputed. There is currently a man in an American prison who was involved in the Carine case, who tricked Carine into being involved on the flight, who has sworn an affivdavit in which he gives an account that adds credibility to Carine's case]

And for the record, the place where the 'abduction' of Peter Falconio occured is not an area travelled on by 'large' numbers of vehicles in night and day. Joanne Lees was there two or more hours before one vehicle came along and the police said at the time she was incredibly lucky to have had one vehicle travel along that road on that night (the one vehicle whose driver found her).

Comments:In your synopsis of the Falconio disappearance you made some mistakes. The road from Alice to Darwin on which the incident took place is the main bitumen highway between the two cities. It is frequented by large numbers of lorries and cars at all hours of night and day. It is not a case of one or two cars a day as you state. Lees claims the assailant was in a vehicle behind them and must have persuaded Falconio to stop, (and here I am making an assumption) by flashing headlights or pulling up alongside the Kombi. A newspaper stated, that Lees slid over to the drivers side of the VW, apparently to rev the motor as Falconio went back to inspect. Whether the engine backfired or a gun fired. Who knows? If you were bending down at the back of a Kombi inspecting the engine, and it back fired what would happen? Could something happen that caused you to bleed?
You mention the bleeding of the assailant producing DNA which was produced 2 years after the incident. No, the sloughing of skin produced the DNA, according to the forensic boffins. The head of forensics(Dr. Thatcher) had his DNA on the manacles, and when asked how this could have happened, as he was never supposed to have touched them, he replied."I don't know." This was the same answer Murdoch gave when he was asked how his DNA got into the VW. Thatcher said that he may have breathed on the manacles. So, every time we breathe we are spreading DNA. I did not know that. Is that true? Just like the Guildford 4 and the Birmingham 6, the police appear to be complicit in stitiching Murdoch up. (Who incidentally does himself no good by looking like he was sent from Hollywood casting for the role of drug running, gun toting, murdering, gentleman. But that's life!) When he was held in Yatala, the SA prison, a NT cop went to visit him (SANDRY) with a brown paper bag with the manacles in them. Later Sandry denied that he had the manacles, but when the police log showed he had signed for them, his memory cleared up. The brown paper bag was either rolled shut, or stapled shut, depending on which cop was telling the story. Sandry showed another cop the contents of the bag, (as one would) so both contaminated the manacles by breathing on them. The manacles were taken to Yatala, but not shown to Murdoch, according to the police. Why then, would they have taken the manacles from NT to SA if not to ask Murdoch to identify them. He would have said."No I've never seen them in my life." But if he handled them, then and there, his DNA would be on them.

The Kombi was dusted for prints, and Murdochs were not found. Rubber gloves were found amongst Murdoch's possessions, but did he wear them? Sloughing of skin would have possibly have then come from other parts of his body, such as arms.

Finally, Lees was thrown into the series 75 Toyota 4WD utitlity, with a canvas bag over her head which promptly came off. She saw the heeler dog. His dog, of course, is a dalmatian cross, or purebred dalmatian, depending on which journalist you read. She pulled her hand-cuffs, the plastic manacles to the front of her body, then slid between the two front bucket seats to the rear tray. I have never seen a vehicle such as this with access to the rear tray, nor is there any room for a person to slither between the seats. In version number two, she did the manacles to the front act, whilst on the rear tray, and in version number three, dropped over the gate, and THEN pulled her hands to the front.
Author Robin Bowles who has published a book on this disappearance, allowed herself to be tied up and ran off into the bush, in a controlled experiment, to see if she could be 40 yards from the road, and remain hidden for 5 hours. (you said 2 hours) I say, how would she know? She was terrified, disoriented, stoned, injured, and the outback does play its tricks. Bowles was found in five minutes.

Just imagine if you were running of into spinifex, bare legged, and threw yourself down, and rolled up in a ball, and then you heard footsteps coming closer and closer. It would be hard to imagine you could avoid detection, if the armed gunman, was an experienced bushman, had a dog with him, and was wearing NIGHT VISION GOGGLES, which is what Murdoch had. Therefore, one can assume the hunter was not Murdoch. Some reports state that he also had a torch. It was a moonless night, so the torch with night vision goggles would have made the surrounding terrain look like broad daylight.

The DNA test initially done in this cas was conducted by Joy Kuhl.
Back many years ago a dingo took a baby in the Northern Territory, and when the mother's car was found the sound deadening compound or chemical which is sprayed around the steering column of all these makes of cars (General Motors) was mistaken for foetal blood. The mother, Lindy Chamberlain, was gaoled for this mistake. The forensic scientist who made the mistake was Joy Kuhl. I am suprised she still kept her job. But, hey what would I know?

Comments:Before commenting on my work please have the courtesy to actually read it. If you read my article on the case of Glyn razzell you will see that I have never said he is innocent. I merely think there are doubts, which is pretty obvious if you study the facts. Glyn's children bombardded their missing mother's mobile phone with text messages shortly after she disappeared. One of the texts said words to the effect of "it's ok if you don't come back, we will understand." Why would they say that if they weren't of the opinion that she might not be coming back? She had marked the day she was "abducted" on her calendar, with a question mark. Why? She had withdrawn a large sum of money from her bank account the day before she disappeared and had searched the Internet for cheap flights abroad. Why? Her mobile phone was moved to the scene of the alleged abduction when Glyn Razzell's whereabouts are known. It looks like someone staged the abduction. Linda was even seen after the "abduction" by one of her friends and other people have since seen her. So is she dead or is she still around? I'm not saying he certainly is innocent but clearly there are doubts.

Barry is no child killer and it is sick that the media would seek to link him to low life. Unlike the others, there is no credible evidence to link Barry to the crime scene of Jill Dando's assassination. Yes, assassination. Shame on the dirty tricks department for trying to. Just as in HRH Princess Dianas death, Jill Dando's death has the smell of a cover up. Why?

You know some of his crime history, compared to Lees's, who hasn't even a speeding fine. I find it puzzling why anyone would still think he was "probably innocent" as opposed to "probably guilty", after 8 weeks of evidence was heard, they were advised that if they had a shadow of doubt he may be innocent they should find him not guilty, and all 12 found him guilty.

What are your main reasons for believing he is innocent and has been framed?

The justice systems stink in the UK and elsewhere.

If countries were really interested in the truth, there are methods of obtaining it these days 100 times more accurate than a jury. However, we choose an archaic inaccurate system that in most cases bends over backwards to help the criminals, the lawyers, and everyone else involved in crime earn a good living from the doubts uncovered in investigations.

It is a puzzler. Murdoch was/is a bad fellow who peddled dope. But have you ever heard of such a thing as the police fitting an unsolved high profile crime to a bad fellow so as to clear their books? Murdoc is no loss from the outback, but he is probably innocent of the crime for which he is convicted, as are many other convicts.

Comments: There were many inconsistencies in this case, but far more for me from Murdoch. How he managed to travel 2000kms+ towing a trailer that no-one saw, the unusual silver gun that 4 people saw,(one a complete stranger) that he denied having, how his dna got on the inside of the tape and in her van. The biggest mystery of all was how his blood got on her t-shirt, and the results from this blood test were recieved 9 months before he was a suspect for this crime? How could the police get it and frame him without murdoch knowing his blood was taken? Why was he so reluctant to have his dna taken in prison, when he had nothing to do with this crime?
Another mystery was Falconio's sighting a week later.
Neither person knew Falconio or had seen him in real life, only from a copy of a copy in a newspaper. Her story?
she served him a mars and coke, and when he left she went to tell he colleague out back.
His story? he sold him a coke and mars bar too???
How can 2 people get such a simple event so mixed up?
No ID of the man he was with, no vehicle ID or reg no, no proof at all.
Someone who is being held hostage, or fakes their own death, when half of the Aus police force is looking for him does not walk into a garage for a few lousy items, and risk blowing his cover, it makes absolutely no sense at all.
The big "mystery" of the unusual cable ties, how they got from back to front took me 1 minute to re-enact, big deal! and not worthy of a mention in court.
Either Murdoch knows where the body is, or he doesn't.
There are methods to extract the truth nowadays, he should be forced to take the truth drug and reveal where the body is, and the gun. If he doesnt know he should walk free.
Illegal? no excuse, change the law and back date it.
I believed he was 100% guilty 6 weeks ago, so was not suprised the jury thought the same. They dismissed Lees's inconsistencies as understandable for the circumstances, and dismissed the defence's story as plain rubbish.
I hope he is found guilty of the other murders they are looking into, to see if there are more dna links, as other families need closures too

Comments:Please keep up with the court case. Joanne Less demonstrated in court that she could bring her handcuffed hands from the back to the front within seconds. As a fairly flexible woman myself, I could do it too.

Please keep objective and scientific, and keep in mind the following: Lees was stoned when it happened, and this may explain inconsistencies in her account; Murdoch fits the identikit, which was drawn from her description long before he was caught; Falconio's blood was found on the road (DNA proven).

There are two scenarios, both of which fit the evidence to the same extent. One includes James Hepe lying to get out of his drugs charge, and Murdoch's ex-girlfriend lying for no apparent reason, and Lees and perhaps Falconio choosing Murdoch beforehand, and formulating a description from that before she/they performed some sort of fraud, and then either evidence was planted, or there were lab stuff-ups.

The other is that all is as it seems.

Unfortunately it will take great knowledge of forensic science to work out what has happened. I suggest if you are going to write a book, you contact Emeritus Professor Barry Boettcher, who help exhonerate Lindy Chamberlain, and who will have followed the case.

A case in point is a recent murder conviction where the Irish Justice minister allowed a murder case to go ahead in the UK rather than in Eire, as there was a better chance of conviction in the UK. The accused was convicted, and in my opinion the verdict was probably correct.
Nevertheless, the test in the UK would seem to be lower than in other countries.

A very informative website i've not finished reading it all yet. Like many you write about I too am a victim of a micarriage of justice.
Our case was shown in a recent BBC programme "Murder without a Trace" produced by the Rough Justice team. Before I was charged I had had no previous experience of our legal system, and naively thought it was the best. Stupidly thought only guilty people went to prison.
Like you said in an earlier comment I.m not looking for a some technicality to get us off but to show we are innocent. I'm desperatly trying to bring to attention the appalling state of our forensic science industry and how so called expert witnesses are the biggest cause for miscarriage of justice. They are totally unregistered making it possible for anyone to become a forensic scientist without any qualifications.
I'm hoping you might look at our case, and would appreciate any comments you may make.

Congratulations on a superb website.
The fact that so many people who have legally been found guilty in a court of law might be innocent is truely frighting but I am sure it happens. There are many reasons for this: the only available evidence at the time, someone saying what they thought they saw or heared as opposed to what actually happened, a corrupt police officer only interested in clearing up the crime regardless of who gets put away, lost or rather deliberately mislaid papers, etc. The list is endless. Thankfully there are writers like you who question and keep questionning to find the truth. Keep up this important work.

If you committed a crime but claim to be the victim of a miscarriage of justice because of some legal technicality in my opinion you do not deserve an appeal. There are so many people fighting to clear their names yet the authorities are having their time wasted by peopel who claim to have been convicted because of some little error. If Peter Sutcliffe had been committed for trial, with his indictment ever so slightly out of date, he would technically be a victim of a miscarriage of justice but that wouldn't have made him any less of a murderer.

I only help those who are totally innocent, in that they have not committed the crime for which they were convicted. I also, of course, campaign for tougher sentences for criminals such as murderers and paedophiles. As far as I am conerned life should mean life. I'm against the death penalty but I believe if you take someone's life then you should have life long incarceration.

It would be fascinating to see what the jury in the Barry George case thought about each piece of evidence, to see what it was that convinced them of his guilt because as I see it there was absolutely nothing to suggest he was probably guilty, let alone he was guilty 'beyond reasonable doubt.'

Anyone who has concerns about the Barry George conviction please write to your MP and call for a full inquiry into the investigation. Justice demands the case be fully investigated. At present there are still many unanswered questions.

Comments:For anyone who has read about Scott C. Lomax ought to be truly happy that he has taken a great interest in the criminal justice system, writing on the flaws of it, exposing the injustices that happen, exposing the cases of miscarriages of justice. Thank you, Scott, for your interest and assistance in my own wrongful conviction case in the United States of America. Yes, wrongful convictions are worldwide -- something that I only thought happened in my country, the U.S. No system of justice is "perfect," however, when a mistake happens, immediate action should be taken to correct that mistake, instead of letting the mistake (wrongful conviction) on and on and on. I truly respect Scott C. Lomax for having the grit to delve into cases of injustices, and to expose them. Keep up the good work, Scott! Thank you for being a voice to those who are wronged by the justice system. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." --Martin Luther King. Again, my thanks to you, Scott. Best wishes! James (USA).

Comments:Scott Lomax has courage, capability, integrity, intelligence, maturity and wisdom far beyond his years. His excellent investigatory work is thorough and well organised. He is one of a rare breed who actually CARES about victims of injustice, such that he does whatever it takes to expose the TRUTH and bring the real perpetrators of evil to JUSTICE. In the doing he regularly suffers abuse and intimidation - getting threatening emails, such that he suffers the real risk of serious harm - even death.

Thank goodness we have people like Scott in this world - people who are unafraid to probe, question, analyse... and EXPOSE the real criminals. I believe he is truly one of God's little helpers. Wish there were more like him around.

I too am a campaigner against injustice and corruption. Please take a look at my site. Readers must not be under the illusion that just because a police investigation clears someone, that that person is not guilty OR that when a person is convicted in court of a crime, then he/she must therefore be guilty. Quite often nothing could be further from the truth. My site exposes corruption in North Wales and it questions the role of freemasonry and its influence in the Authorities and Courts.

Comments:At 06.00 on Tuesday July 30th 2002 on GMTV an allegation was made that a policeman in charge of the Jill Dando murder investigation lied in court.
The allegation was not repeated, but I have never heard that the policeman denied it. I do not know what the lie was supposed to be and can only assume the allegation was false.

Comments:Thank you for your message Caroline. You did not include your email address so i can't contact you privately.

I am pleased you like the website and hope you will return in the future. I find the Susan May case very worrying - there is not a shred of evidence against ehr and yet she is still in prison.

Regarding Michael Stone, a number of people have contacted me saying that I should look into his case. I will do soon. I followed his appeal and was amazed how quickly the judges gave their judgment. It was less than a day. Having said that I think they made the right decision, at least the right decision within the rules they work within. I do not know enough about the case to say whether Stone is innocent or guilty (though there is no real evidence showing his guilt). However, I do not believe that the defence produced enough evidence to show the key witness at the retrial (who Stone allegedly confessed to) was lying. It is hard to prove someone lied. The Court of Appeal respects the views of a jury and so if a jury listened to a witness and believed they were telling the truth, appeal judges can do little about it unless compelling evidence is produced. I don't think the judges had much choice but to dismiss the appeal because of the lack of evidence put forward by the defence. Whetehr Stone is innocent or not, is another matter. The Court of Appeal needs to be reformed. Judges have to work within rules that frequently make it impossible for justice to be achieved.

Comments:A brilliant and informative website which I came across via the Simon Hall official website. I have been interested in miscarriages of justice since I read Paul Foots brilliant book on the Carl Bridgewater 4 and have followed many of the cases on your site ie Derek Christian, Simon Hall, Susan May. Have you ever investigated the Michael Stone case? I would be interested on your opinion of that case because I am not convinced he is guilty. Also I have just found www.blindjustice.co.uk. I wondered if you knew of the case and if so, have you any updates to it? Sorry to ramble on but I am so pleased to have found your site!!! Well done and continue the good work.

Comments:It is apparent that Jill Dando was probably murdered by somebody known to her. Her scream sounded to a witness as like somebody surprising somebody. The killer closed her gate. So he or she was familiar with leaving her premises. Why else in the midst of the perfect crime would he/she close the gate and risk leaving DNA evidence unless it was an action from habit? The killer was probably either medically experienced or had military training, and I am not talking about Dad's Army here.
All the killer then had to do was to keep his/her head down, unlike silly Barry George who went out of his way to attract attention.
