MANY fans have never heard the earliest recordings. They seem to have just disappeared. In 1969 my Father met Gene Watson and his cousinn Bill while my sister was in the hospital in Houston. He gave my Daddy a 45 of his newest record, I'll Run Right Back To You / Autumn In June. It was pure heaven to hear that voice. The 45 is gone now, and I have searched for years find a copy. It was recorded here in Houston in 1969 on Wide World Records, then again on Stoneway Records. WE need Gene to re-release this record. Watson fans around the world would cherish the early recordings if we could get them back again. This is true, PURE, Gene Watson Gene, give us back some of the old lost recordings ! | |

From the very first time I heard Gene Watson, I have become a devoted fan. I anxiously anticipated every new album that came out, and bought it on the spot no matter where I was at the time. Gene is probably the greatest, and most unknown country singer in my neck of the woods. After I give people the cd's to listen to, he has another fan immediately. I wish that he would come closer on a tour so I, along with all my friends, would be able to see him. Also, I hope that he will come out with set of CD's of EVERYTHING that he has sang.
