| I watch Guys and Dolls every month or more. I was born in 1956 and would have given anything to have seen Miss Blain on Broadway. She made Frank look good in the movie, she didn't need anything to make herself look great. She was great. |

| Last night, I went to my umpteenth High School performance of Guys and Dolls over the last 35 years, and I just wanted to refresh my memory of the ORIGINAL Adelaide. Great website! Suggestion: You might want to submit a few pictures to IMDb - they have NO pictures on their website of this wonderful actress! |

| Thank you very much for the web site. I've just finished watching State Fair. Vivian Blaine was a women of tremendous talent who Hollywood did not always make the best use. Still, she achieved iconic status as Miss Adelaide and Hollywood was smart enough to let her recreate the role. And performers have been chanelling her ever since in revivals of "Guys and Dolls." In fact, I cannot think of another Broadway performance that so defined a particular role that 50 years later it is still being performed the same way. |

//David Cunard The two albums 'Vivian Blaine For You' and 'Vivian Blaine: Live in Hollywood' have the same selections except that the CD has a bonus track. Vivian recorded this live in Hollywood and was the first celebrity of any kind to donate her royalties to an AIDS cause. She was also the very first star to make a Public Service Announcement on tlelvsion when APLA was first started and did numerous fund raisers for them, none of which have been acknowledged in later years. Her death was a sad loss since her voice had developed a pleasant timbre, and was not in the least "screechy" as the reviewer on the Amazon site states! |

//Megan Miller I have had the wonderful oppertunity of playing Miss Adelaide last year, and I watched the movie version of Guys and Dolls several times, and each time Miss Blaine would step on to the screen, the scene would light up. She is beautiful, and extreamly talented. Ive seen her in State Fair as well! FANTASTICK. Thank you Mrs. Blaine, for leading me on the path to bringing such a wonderful person as Adelaide to life on stage. SHe will always be a part of me, and it is wonderful to know that I share something in comman with a woman as remarkable as yourself. Yours truely Megan |

//Liz I just wanted you all to know that I was named after this beautiful lady. My Mom and dad had gone to a movie when you found out that she was pregnant, she liked the name and now Blaine is my middle name. So proud to be a part of such class and beauty. Oh by the way that was 53 yrs ago. |

| I met and became fast friends with "Little Viv" when she appeared at The Plush Room Cabaret here in San Francisco. She was so delightfully approachable and friendly. We had many good times together (I ended up going to see her show every night.) I loved her "backstage" stories about old Hollywood, the stars, etc. She was especially proud of the fact that, for years, she played second fiddle to Betty Grable at Fox and then - years later - after Viv's triumph on Broadway in Guys and Dolls, Grable wanted to play Adelaide in the film version and Viv won out. She was so proud of that. A delightful lady. |

//Joe //http://www.operagloves.com/glovmain.html I should make a correction to my previous entry - I just went back and checked IMDB; while that picture _is_ from "The Time, The Place And The Girl", I was wrong; that's not Vivian in the picture after all, it's another actress named Martha Vickers. Sorry for the confusion. |

//Joe //http://www.operagloves.com/glovmain.html Hi! Thanks much for the link back to For the Love of Opera Gloves! I thought that you might like to know that I have vidcaps from two more of Vivian's movies, "Something For The Boys" and "The Time, The Place And The Girl" up now. In fact, that photo in your 1940's gallery that you couldn't identify is from "The Time, The Place And The Girl". The other actress is Janis Paige; I can't think of the two actors right now but one of them was in just about every other 1940's musical! |

| I am the nephew by marriage of the late Vivian Blaine. It was great fun to see this website. It contains much different material than the boxes of memorabilia that I have from her. I would be very interested in hearing from you and why you put such time and effort into this site. Did you know my aunt? In any case, a great tribute to a talented star. Thank you. |
