There is nothing to fail at.
As far as what you write about writing, something drives you. And freedom is absence of choice. If nothing else, you help to justify the internet, even if just a little bit... and remind everyone, like the internet does, that there are many, many good writers out there... too many for all of them to be famous, and indeed, why should they be?
