My father is Elmer Darrel Greer Sr., he was born and raised in Little Horse Creek, North Carolina, as was his mother and his Grand father Albert Greer. It is amazing to know how many Greer's are in the world. There is alot of Geneology done on the Greer family. My wife did alot of research on the Greer's because she could not find much on her family. My mother bought a book from a Greer that traced the family back to Scotland in the 16 or 17 hundreds. It seems that one of the lines were from the Greerson Clan in Scotland. Good luck everyone on your quests.
