| Comments: | I was born in Brooklyn, NY on Jan. 13th, 1967. I do not know what hospital. I was adopted straight out of the hospital by Ruth Roth-Polur and Sam Polur (both were lawyers in NY).
My biological parents both worked for my uncle Manny Roth (that I have now) in Greenwich Village at the Cafe Wha? in NYC. I have a picture of my birth mother (her name was Janice Winter) and I also have a watercolor painting she did when she was in Ios, Greece (at least I think she was in Greece when she painted it). I was told she died in a car accident when I was either a baby or toddler? I don't know. I have no information on my birth father. I would like to know more about my mother and the name of my father. My uncle has no further information that he can remember, then again he is also 83 years old! Where can I start???? |

I wrote about these struggles in my new memoir, The Sound of Hope, where I not only tell my story of growing up in the dark regarding my origins, my eventual search & reunion but also delve into the emotional ramifications and my hope is to raise awareness of adoptees and birthparents wanting to be reunited.

I have only gotten non-identifying info from Wayne Co. because consent has not been given, and that cost me $60.00, and I refuse to pay the amount of money they want to find bp's. These laws are obsolete and should be changed. I don't want anything other than to know who they were, a name, a picture. My husband is also an adoptee through LSS. | Comments: | I am searching for my baby that was born on February 23, 1971 in Columbus, Ohio at the old St. Ann's Hospital on Bryden Road. There hasn't been a day that has gone by in almost 38 years that I haven't missed my baby. Even though my baby is an adult now, I still feel it is my baby. It was a sealed adoption and I don't know how to find my child. I have a right to meet and hopefully have a relationship with my baby. I only gave my baby up because I wanted to give the child a better life than I could provide for at the time. I never had another child and it is my only heir.
