This Foundation has an impressive Board of Directors and I'm sure that it will thrive, even though none of us ever want to see another line of duty death. Coincidentally, I remember Billy Goldfeder from what seems like centuries ago (The early '80s) when I worked for the Manhasset - Lakeville Fire District on Long Island. I'm one of many who is on Billy's "The Secret List" and am grateful for his hard work on it. Many of my training topics are gleaned from there and Firefighterclosecalls.com. As I always tell people, if there is one thing I'd like to be remembered for, it is that all of my crews went home safe and enjoyed their retirements. |

| Comments: | I lost my father on June 15th, and he was a 25 year firefighter. He collapsed during a pump training in Ohio at the Delaware township firehouse. His name is Conrad Mansfield, and we are proud to lay our hero to rest in a full firefighter's ceremony on June 19th, 2009. the service will be held at the firehouse, his home away from home. We couldn't think of a more appropriate place to say goodbye to a man who lived and breathed the firefighter lifestyle. |
