Love what you guys are doing, saw you live bout ten years ago at my cousin Curtis' wedding. Well, it is a well known fact that these guys tear it up when performing, and they are also a great bunch of guys. I can remember first seeing them play at the Derby, and since then have become one of my favorites. Many a good times listening and dancing to their music. Carl-O is one bad ass mother on the horns! He's also a great friend since 1972! Unfortunately, for me, I had been very negligent about getting to see his band play live. Finally got around to it when they played the "Alive After Five" festival in my town. I was quite impressed, at least until Carl locked his keys in the car! Haha. From what I understand they kept the shows a little low key because of the varied crowd. (Aside: I thought it was really great of the singer to be so kind to the girl with Down Syndrome and kidding with the young girls who were dancing in front of the stage.) They must be insane when they crank it up and let it truly rip for their "regular" crowd. I see loads of great groups every year and I will absolutely go see these guys again. Big shout outs to all the irie guys in Shockshine for bringing jah to my town! |
