What I found here was absolutely beautiful and I return often for the sense of peace it brings. I am like many others who are not Native American, but have very strong ties to the ways and history of the People. The writings are thought provoking and inspiring as well. I hope to return many times to see what is new! Wopila tanka!! |

| Comments: | My great grandfather was Lakota. He was one of the children taken from his family in South Dakota and sent to a military school. My mother and I have tried hard to keep some traditions alive that he taught to my grandmother, but I have found that there is still a lot that I don't know. Your website is helping me with this process, and I hope to be able to instill these traditions in my children and grandchildren. My Native heritage is something that I have always been very proud of, and with what I am learning here on your website, that pride grows.
Thank you. |

| Comments: | I have been searching for my ancestor who was a full blood Native American. She married my great grandfather in Tennessee in the early 1800's. Her maiden name (English) was Elizabeth and she married Robert Jackson Sauls. They had several childrem. My grandfather, an indentured servant, moved to Forney, Texas in the early 1900's at the age of 21. I feel a strong bond with Native Americans, but want nothing material, just to know where I came from and ask to be recognized as a brother. |

I started reading about things like "The Trail of Tears" & "Wounded Knee". I then knew I was right.I was devastated when I read the way it really was. It was a horrible thing to happen to human beings! The Native American way of life was very spiritual & they were severely wronged! I will be visiting your site often. Sincerely...Victoria |

| Comments: | In the Mind of the All Powerful Great Spirit, time is one eternal moment. Past PRESENT Future are all one NOW.
The technology that has manifested in the physical plane was intended for our survival to be easier. From fire we have syncronized explosions that propel us around in these chairots of fire we call cars. (magic) An energy that is mainly generated from water and is also magic at our fingers is electricity. And, from that "present" comes the next miracle, radio frequentcy. A band of inifinite numbers for us to communicate through the air on invisible waves, amazing! These inventions originally were intended to help humanity, to be shared among all peoples, and a way for us(Earth)to become connected as a whole and grow in spirit as ONE. But, egoing agendas of power and greed grabbed control of simple gifts many people need. And now blackened hate exalted duality has made our gifts into tools of death and each one of the original gifts to humanity has become eleven or good and evil. Look at all the technology thats now duality. Like the beast would call himself the twin in one and would say something like "make love and war". This is apparent in all magic manifested in the in the physical plane. We are like radios, able to transmitt and recieve thoughts, emotions and energy. Yet most are (unknowingly) sending & absorbing the static-babble thats bouncing to & fro. Not tuned to the soul station of true will. The spirit of radio is closer to the heart not of the dark, Tune forth a spark & start! The me-con-o-my, I mean economy, is now reflecting the unbalance of the worlds greedy-death-exalted illusion. (most regular folks with families are the ones who suffer,in all cultures and tribes) World governments make, plan and create bombs and tools of death. Billions of dollars and energies go into death, pain and egoing power and with all we have in technology, still thousands of children die daily for greedy reasons like building a nu clear bomb or sending up the tin can shuttle that does NOTHING for humanity but pat a few on the back and inflate a bunch of mindless egos with more distractions from truth. WE CAN CHANGE THIS, us magical adepts can invoke the Truth and expose the lie. Rock-n-Roll is a good start! |

| Comments: | You have stolen my designs for your page. Please take them down now, thanks!
I have complied with your request, and email that you sent as below. I do apologise for using your FREE beadwork, I naturally assumed that it was FREE to post, and that was may mistake. It was a genuine mistake and I shall do as you request and remove it from my site. You'll notice it was in my education section, and that I was not attempting to make money from you hard work, I was in fact trying to educate. I will remove those pieces belonging to you. I again apologise I did not mean to cause offence or upset you. Kindest regards William Purcell PS If I can make a recommendation, if people are FREE to print you work, you have no way of monitoring how they use your work, and they could be making money from your patterns, but if you allow people to use them on their site with a link back to your own site, then you may have more visitors to your own site. Just a thought.... |

| Comments: | You are certainly a true Human Being. Anyone studying the Lakota ways will see how man was destined to live.
Tashunca-uitco was correct when he said: "The Red Nation shall rise again and it shall be a blessing for a sick world. A world filled with broken promises, selfishness and separations. A world longing for light again. I see a time of Seven Generations when all the colors of mankind will gather under the Sacred Tree of Life and the whole Earth will become one circle again. In that day, there will be those among the Lakota who will carry knowledge and understanding of unity among all living things and the young white ones will come to those of my people and ask for this wisdom. I salute the light within your eyes where the whole Universe dwells. For when you are at that center within you and I am that place within me, we shall be one." |

I am not registered, though my Grandmother was Teton. I was adopted when I was 9, and thanks to sealed court documents, it has proven difficult to get evidence of my birth family (even though I knew them well). No problem, since noone can change the truth.

| Comments: | I had read bits and pieces of this history but I have never read such a well written version which I believe to be totally true. It is told in a neutral and historical way which is good. My mother told me I have a native American heritage but her brother, my uncle denies this. Who can I believe? Was I adopted? I may never know. My twin brother and I were written out of our mother's will no explaination was given. Our parents didn't come to our high school graduation. We were supposed to get 2/21 of our father's will by Ohio state law but it never happened. We are the only 2 veteran sons out of 7 children. Not one family member ever has expressed any form of gratitude for our service to our country. We both served on the U.S.S. Josephus Daniels CG-27 for two tours in the Mediteranean Sea. We spied on the Soviets during the cold war. My twin and I were operatios specialists. One of the officers we served with Lt.Junior Grade Roughead is now in charge of the whole Navy. I find Veteran's Day particularly hard every year and for obvious reasons, I wonder if Americans in general even think much about their veterans. I sometimes think everything done is just token and symbolic and not from the heart. We were forced to sign a document when we were only 16 without being allowed to see what it said giving up the right to something while being told if we didn't sign we would not have a place to live the next day(1968). We were both beaten physically repeatedly with a one inch thick leather belt till we bled through our welts. Needless to say my twin and I are deeply wounded by the poor treatment our family delivered to us. What they stole from us will never be known. The true injustice to the native Americans is finally being told. I think that many more injustices are going undocumented today! Maybe in another 100 years we might hear about them! Of all the racial groups in our country I believe that the native American is the most mistreated group. If I have native American blood it would explain all my beatings and mental abuse as a child. The worse part of all of this is my parents were Lutheran Missonaries working for the American Lutheran Church in America. When my brother called and informed the church about the abuse the first thing out of the man's voice was
"Are you going to sue us?" not, oh that is terrible. Their first thought was how much money is this going to cost us not oh my God this is terrible. They offered nothing to my brother. The family always made sure we never passed up their children in the job market, it took us years to catch on to what was going on! I was fired from 3 jobs in a row after my father died and the work places would not tell me why! I was begging to know what I had done! To this day I still don't know why I was fired! There is much more but it would fill a book. I may well be an adopted native American but I will probably never really know. Having suffered so much myself I have a deep heart for the native American people and the injustice they were dealt. |

Their father left confinement of reservation and took his name from his rifle, a Browning. Might explain why it next to impossible to find any real records on him).
I've been looking at sites to learn about Lakota Nation. Its interesting. On behalf of our group, The People of The Hunting Ground, we request permission to list you web address to put on our links page, so other people of Kentucky can enjoy your site. We hope you grant us permission. |

I am currently searching for my Native American history, but have hit a road block in the beginning! My great grandfather (whom I believe was NA) vanished and all records of him have been removed somehow. He lived back in the mid and late 1800's. I have no first name only the last name, which is a surname. Thus, making it doubly hard to find out who he was or what happened to him. I stumbled upon this site and am so very grateful! It is done beautifully and with great honor!! Thank you again! Mitakuye Oyasin! Esnella Tanke |

| Comments: | You have put together a very creative and informative website on the Lakotas. -that has not been found. Thank you for connecting us to this very important wisdom in our history. Your beatiful imagery, poems and factual information give people a clear sense of what it was like for the Lakota people.
These ancient teachings of our ancestors will make us return to what we already know.. Past .. present.. future... the Lakota symbol of infinity is 8. We are truly are one.. and your site brings us back.. reminding us of this :) In love, friendship and spirit, Leslye :) |

| Comments: | Since visiting America(I live in England) in 2007 I have been drawn very strongly to the native American culture. I have read many books and been saddened and horified by the way the native Americans were treated.I am allways searching for websites on this matter and came across your wesite, I love it. I am in the process of trying to learn the Lakota language so if anyone out there can lend a hand please get in touch. |

| Comments: | I was very excited to find this website. My grandfather is Lakota and was raised at Rosebud in South Dakota. My grandmother on the other side of my family is Cherokee. I have always been interested in my grandparent's culture and have attended many Pow wows. I also attend Indian Fest in Milwaukee each summer.
Thank you so much for putting this site together! I enjoyed looking thru it. I learned a little bit more about my culture that I did not know. |

| Comments: | My name is Colline (which in french means....Little Mountain......which describes me to a tee. I searched for almost 20 years for my name......first in Wicca, then when I connected with a shaman woman and did sweats and vision quests......on the last quest.......I was slapped in the face.. a voice said: You have your name, you've had it all your life.........so for the last 5 years (I'm 60 now)I finally have peace. I am white but my 4 children are status Native from Kettle and Stoney Point, Ontario Can.
I love your site and I'm happy to have found it. Peace, Love and Gratitude |
