| Please share your comments, dreams, or poems: | Omigoodness, just a few nights ago, I finally had a dream starring the one-and-only Robert Smith that redeemed the character he played the first time I dreamt of him. Though my obsession with Robert Smith and his awesome band runs deep, he's only been the subject of my subconscious mind twice.
This second dream I spoke of was much more innocent than its predecessor: I saw him eating at a restaurant and gravitated toward him, at which point he began signing me an autograph. I declined and simply asked if I could touch him to see if he was real. I awkwardly patted this, stroked that, until I just embraced the Cure frontman. And you know what? He was totally cool with me, a stranger who turned down his priceless autograph, putting my hands on him! And, though the above dream possesses a cruel irony in that, by touching Mr. Smith, I had concluded he was really before me in this imaginary restaurant, when, in actuality, I was probably just feeling-up my pillow, it was much more kind to Robert than the first, which was set in an orphanage/treatment center where he and I both lived but never really interacted until he publicly pined to give me a "verbal," which isn't at all what you might think it is... That prick! |

did not know until recently that others the way I do about him. not just that he is weird now in his ways. I always knew that somebody, somewhere "got it." at least as far as his music and poetry concerned. but I really had no idea that anyone else knew about his physical handicap. just thought I was weird. if I ever said anything about his looks, all people said was "makeup" "his hair" "he looks scary, like elvira." to me, Robert Smith has a definite presence of a cross dresser that really comes across on film. the camrea really accentuates his feminine acts. who "robert smith" the entertainer become as much entertwined with how he looks on film as with the way he sings now. |

I am sure many of you like atmospheres what bands like Massive Attack, Portishead, PJ Harvey or Tricky used to and still do create. But I am also sure that many of you don't even know that you're missing RECOIL - the brainchild of ex-depeche MODE member, Alan Wilder, or rather his dark side. You may don't like the dM stuff but you probably will like what Alan does on his own - it is absolutely worthwile, especially if you're fan of dark, trip-notic, intriguing and avant-grade cinematic music that clearly stands out form all that today's tv/radio commerce. LIQUID - the very new portion of RECOIL's emotions steering energy is being released on March 6th (Europe) and 21th (US). But it was played across Europe already - Trent Reznor used it as the warm-up music just before the his Nine Inch Nails came on stage. If you're going to any of the US NIN's 'Fragility' shows, you'll probably hear it there too. Warning - there is a danger of that RECOIL will grow in you and make you thinking more and more with every hearing. RECOIL will explore your imagination by taking you to the edge of unease, through dark, dub-infected landscapes, reverberating with shivering piano, seductive strings and a deep electronic pulse. RECOIL will seep into your brain and drill holes into your psyche...
