That is lie straight from the pit of hell!!! I urge you between your job breaks and school breaks to watch Keith Oberman and Rachel Maddox. They really research their information! Mr.Oberman keeps it real in letting you know who is voting for. He finds out all of the facts. Also many of us have found out that Fox News is very biased and racist at times,especially that Sean Hannity guy. Forever raising questions about Obama but never about Palin? Then he just loves Rush Limbaugh! Give me a break! So again MSNBC and CNN are the best election new coverage. Let us all continue to pray for Jennifer Hudson's losses. My heart was really saddended by the news. I pray to GOD besides her estranged brother-in-law, I hope her ex-boyfriend didn't play a part. Let us also continue to pray for that news anchor woman that was beat to death in her home. Another strange case, I refuse to believe that it was random. But GOD knows who he or she is. Let us also continue to pray for those two arkansas students from the central university. Last days like the bible has stated veggie soupies. Make sure you are ready!! Ladies this election surely is a trip! I found out that Senator John Mccain's own sister-in-law and nephew are voting for Senator Barack Obama! Wow! Now I know as people of color we started out in the republican party,no offense to the ladies that are republican on this forum I have relatives that are, but this campaign has got to be the worst for the republican party don't you agree? Sarah Halin Palin creating a race war? How can she be a Christian spew her hate everywhere? What about the Goldwater sisters endorsing Senator Barack Obama? This is truly an exciting time!!!!!!! | Comments: | Hi lovely ladies. I need to get some advice from you. I currently am aware of the admission process for the undergraduate chapter of AKA. I have community service (I volunteer at an domestic abuse shelter). I am involved in several organizations at my school (Psychology Club, and an African American Women club). I have a B avg. cumalative gpa. My question is these.. I haven't had the best luck in College. I started my undergraduate studies at one school, I stayed there for one year, and then I transfered to another university. To complete my undergraduate studies in 4 years, I should have graduated in May 2008. However, due to transfering schools, and changing my major, I won't graduate until May 2009, exactly one year later, or some people may say one year late. The AKA undergrad chapter at my school only has a line/probate in Spring of each year. So if I go through the pledge process, and am accepted (hopefully), I would not cross until late March/early April. Then I would graduate in May.My plans post graduation are to attend graduate school, possibly out of state. Should I pledge undergraduate? If I do will I form the bond with my chapter's sisters? Will my chapter respect me? Or should I wait and hope that a graduate chapter near my graduate school will invite me to their chapter? This isn't advice I would be able to get from national website.

Thank you to my sands for such an intelligent and classy response to blatant ignorance. There isn't much schooling to be done after that. BUT I do want to point out to ANY sisterfriend reading this board that undergraduate chapters do not and CANNOT exist (literally) without a graduate chapter's support. Those wonderful programs are approved, attended by and many times planned with the help of GRADUATE MEMBERS. That is all. Anything you don't know about MY organization is not for you to know (and with such a lack of social grace, tact and knowledge some never will know). From the below display I see that MANY are lacking DISCRETION and that is not what my sorority is about. Please don't bring negative vibes loosely laced with sarcasm onto this board. Your commentary about graduate chapters shows some ignorance about the organization. In order to want to join the organization you must understand the inner workings of the organization as whole. Do you even know the function that graduate chapters serve? Moreover, if you are lucky enough to be invited to join this illustrious organization of women you must also plan to be committed to AKA which requires a lifetime commitment - this means remaining active in a GRADUATE level chapter of the org. If you feel that some Sorors are not as 'made' as other sorors, that in itself shows some lack of sisterliness and sisterhood in itself and you may want to check that before you begin the rush process or MY sorors may overlook you. Furthermore,please be aware that AKA is a non-hazing organization. A 'process' is not what makes you my sister. It is what you do to enhance this organization through your individual abilities and strengths, it is your contribution to making this organization remain Divine, but certainly not if you were able to withstand pain for a few weeks.That is not where the strength of a woman is shown. So before you refer to any part of MY organization as 'pitiful' please check yourself or perhaps you may look in the direction of another organization or perhaps not one at all - because we all hold the same spirit. And regardless of whether you become a member of AKA or not, never refer to members as paper. I'm not even sure you can understand the significance of that as an interest. I think graduate chapters are pointless they take everybody as long as you have money and they are all paper members with no process! I think that is pitiful and people shouldnt join if they dont pledge undergrad!!

| Comments: | Ladies who read & post to this site...I am saddened to say that it's true. Nailah Franklin, beloved sister of Discogoddess has been found/identified. Trust me when I tell you nobody wanted this to be true. However, it is.
Let me say this...our dear Discogoddess & her family/network worked to no end in getting information out there...getting the major media networks on the case. I must applaud their efforts to bring her home. They were so very media savy & poised when most of us would have been broken down to no end. Now, they can truly begin to grieve & work to keep her memory alive in whatever way they choose. My prayer for this family is for PEACE...as they deal with this difficult time. ---------------- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 11:00 P.M. CST, September 30, 2007 Funeral arrangements finalized for Nailah O. Franklin The family of Nailah O. Franklin again expresses our deepest gratitude for the love and support that we have received from the community.
