It also amazes me that a past child star can become a world-famous "singer" and "actress" simply because she is cute and was once backed by Disney. Anyone who has had vocal training could tell you that Hil lacks all of the things you look for in a good singer: 1) Vibrato (you will notice that her voice stays completely flat at all times, unlike those with TRUE talent... Beyonce for instance) 2) Fairly wide range (I have yet to hear Hils hit an impressive high note like Mariah or an astoundingly low note like India Arie) 3) The ability to "belt" (Hilary's voice simply doesnt have POWER to it. I have never heard her successfully crescendo like a REAL singer... such as Kelly Clarkson) 4) The simple matter of staying on pitch!!! (It is fairly obvious for anyone -- excluding, of course, the hearing-impaired -- to notice the times in the Lizzie McGuire movie during the concert scene when her voice is dubbed over, replaced by the voice of a professional vocalist.)
