Comments:Hi Louise, You were a tutor at Lumb Bank in August this year and I was one of your students. You were very heavily pregnant at the time. I hope all went well at the birth and that you and your partner are at least getting some rest now you have two young children to look after. You recommended TLC as 'the real deal' and I submitted to them. I was very impressed by the fine-grained and perceptive report I got back. I've have already started to re-write. I just wanted to thank you for putting me on to them. All best wishes to you Louise. Sian O'Leary (writer of the sci-fi story)

Later on, I got my hands on Smart and me and the sprogs (now much bigger) play it out and play it out loud for the girls! Original lady power there Louise, so well done. Please play again, I'd probably be able to get a babysitter now lol.... Thanks for reading xxx

I have been wanting to get my friend, Will and his girlfriend Frida, a nice moving in gift for the first home. They're moving in this week in Brighton so it's all very exciting! I was thinking that the best present in the world would be a signed photo from you to them wishing them all the best in their new home. Would you be happy to do that and make our year? If so, you're fantastic. If not, you're still fantastic! Have a cool summer. yours, Stuart xx

Comments:Love the site, answered my questions about the band that did "Statuesque" and the "Atomic" remake. Had to get all of the Sleeper albums. This was a really good band. The only album that kind of lost me was -Pleased To Meet You-. Their first two really grab the ears. "Sale Of The Century" had me wanting to play guitar a-la Jon Stewart. Just another female fronted band, I think not.

Comments:Message for Louise I recently found your excellent Guardian article "What's wrong with being a mother" and read your account of your daughters birth with interest. The birth of my daughter in Dec 04 did not go at all according to plan, and I agree with your statement "if the downsides of parenthood are being overplayed, the truth of childbirth seems shrouded in silence". I had a five day labour which ended in an emergency caesarean, after a failed forceps attempt. I wondered why no one had told me that this – or worse - could happen. I felt let down by my body, the health service and by the culture, in which the realities of birth are simply not addressed. I am just about to release an audio CD which is an oral history of childbirth told by first-time mothers in my home-town of Brighton. It is called 'Speaking of Birth' and is released 19th September 06. I hope that in some way it will get people talking about the realities of childbirth. I would love to send you a copy but appreciate you are unlikely to reply to a fan's post on this website! If you would like a copy, please do contact me, or visit my website www.speakingofbirth.com Kind regards Daniela Gargiulo

It's now 2006, Brit music is all SH*T, and the lyrics, raw talent, and insight of one Ms Louise Wener still ring true. It's a rare talent and gift to impart to the world something as long-lasting as inspirational songs. Good on ya Louise, and Sleeper. I hope you're well, and happy, wherever you are, and whatever you're doing.

I just ordered it occasionally while I was looking for a Steve McQueen Picture for my appartment. The "funny" thing is that from 15/11/2005 I'll be without a job because this law firm here is going to get smaller. It wasn't the right job anyway here, but sure: I feel like Danny somedays. I have loads of time reading your book, because my car broke down last week, I had to sell it and I come to work by train every morning. 2 days ago I left my Bellstaff-Jacket in the train and It took me some hours to find out how to get it back. I won't write too much, just wanted to say that you are doing a good job as a writer after your career as a singer. "music supervisor: jon stewart". woohoo. but is it the real one or some imposter type again?

I can afford that rip-off dvd now. I could prolly afford 6 actually :o) You want one mr vu?

But if I find any Buckets & Spades, I'll let you know. The version I have was made by Indolent on green vinyl. I think, I thought, there was a black vinyl version (can't be bothered to check my own discography).

John Stirling, managing agent for model Sarah Jane has committed fraud by using debt collectors to collect monies by extortion and threats from a persons in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. John Stirling of Stirling Entertainment which manages the Sarah Jane publicity and website, had been involved in a long running dispute with Council and property owners at a block of flats in Kew, Melbourne Victoria, over the running of his business of selling DVD and soft core pornographic material by mail and over internet site Ebay. Stirling, who also uses other false names was also selling illegally copied videos the same way. He has since been evicted as a tenant from the flats. Currently he is selling porn and copyright illegal scans at www.stunningblonde.com In 2001 Mr Stirling was responsible for linking Sarah Janes soft-porn website with the Salvation Army's website without their permission, after which they requested removal of the link. During 2002 as a reaction to complaints by owners about his activities, he stole a residents mail, and stalked them, even tampering with their Electoral roll information illegally. A 12 month Intervention Order was then taken out against Stirling for stalking, which included an accusation of assault. Stirling used a professional collection agent to fraudulently extract money from a resident using his company name of Stirling Entertainment. He is now being accused of Fraud. The Court hearing date is to be announced soon.

If I waited another month, the dvd will probably be sold used for $8.99, so it's not a bad deal if you buy used/cheap movies.

Comments:RE: Software - it's definitely illegal. It's copied on a CD-R and there's a keygen software on the CD as well.

RE: Camera Obsucra - I first bought a single from them called "Your Sound" which I wasn't too impressed with, but I did like the Underachievers one, though. I was told that HiFi CD is the best, but since I didn't see it used..... I don't know about you, but prices for new cd is so ridiculously high ($18), that "used" cd are about $8. Take into account if you just borrow your friend's cd and burn a copy would cost you $0.04. It's no wonder the music industry is struggling. I still by 'pressed' cds, as long as they're affordable.

RE: Pajamapants - this is actually an imaginary band I have created. There's Angry Sid the Drummer, Jojo the singer (you know there's actually a real singer called Jo Jo?, she stole my idea!), and a bassist that always smokes (at least 2 cigarrettes in her mouth), and an emo boy with sideburns as guitarist. Well anyway, when they play shows, they all wear pajamapants and their nick name are: the Jammies. Of course.

I would've gone with Pajamapants." because that doesn't sound weird at all!?! :o\ the software stuff might be OEM if there's no box and a tiny manual, but if it's got the cd key written in felt tip pen on the cd then i'm thinking not too legal. I think I saw he live forever dvd being sold for £3 ($6) in wh smith in the UK but I'm not sure cos it had one of those little price stickers on and it could've just got stuck on it from anywhere cos all the other dvds had big round price lables on. actually it also had a big round one on saying £7.99 so that confused me even more. so i got the compilation instead. echobelly are good.

And letting your creativity blossom in another direction. It seems like a lot of pop stars get stressed by trying to live up to the image that fans have of them, even if it's different from how they actually are. What I admired about you was that you always seemed to follow your own independent path. Any ideas for the next book? Rick.

Comments:Dear Louise I understand you hail from the Gant’s Hill area, here in the United Kingdom. We are campaigning for saving Gants Hills greatest landmark, the old Odeon Cinema which is threatened with demolition. I am sure this may come as no surprise but to date we have received hundreds of signatures by way of petitioning. As support and awareness is gaining momentum we are preparing to go to press. Several well known personalities who have been linked with the Gants Hill area during their lives are being extended invitations to pledge their support for residents’ desire to maintain the ‘essence’ of the site before it gets bulldozed to make way for a supermarket or flats. I am hopeful that you too will be sympathetic to the above concerns. Accordingly, I will be happy to provide a detailed account of progress to date for you to consider. An urgent reply would be appreciated. Thank you for your attention. Yours sincerely, Peter McInerney “Save Our Cinema” Action Team

Comments:I can't believe Lou says she never had any groupies! If I'd have known that I'd have been down like a shot :-) err, maybe not as I'm only 22 now, so I would have been about 14 when they were touring... Never mind, Anyone know when here next book signing is, I fancy getting me guitar signed. Check out my band's website , www.penguinsteak.co.uk , I'm trying to persuade the other guys to cover "Bedhead" but they ain't having it... Gav

Comments:I wanted to answer a few questions:
  1. Regarding old entries, there are 277 posts, but since this is 'free' they only remember the last 150, but you can only view 60 at a time because it takes so long to load up all the tables (well on older computers anyway.)
  2. I find some of the random urls here pretty funny. Especially the dog one.
  3. Moye and I talk to each other via our guestbooks. Her gb is found on spinlove.net.
  4. I have updated your link, Christopher.
  5. For those interested, I run this small S*M*A*S*H website, if you look here, the son of the drummer wrote/contributes to the forum section.
