We currently only have one dog "Lexi" --She's a Border Collie/Lab/boxer mix and a domestic striped cat "Pepsi". We also had a German Shepherd "Sable" that died of a heart attack 2/13/07, she was only 8 yrs old. I miss her terribly, she was my best buddy :) I noticed you have (or had) a baby Raccoon -- a year or two before I left home & got married, a baby raccoon crawled up by the engine of my neighbors car (we figure to keep warm) & my neighbor didn't know & started the car. The little guys paw was badly burned & the neighbor wanted to call the Humane Society -- my Dad talked him out of it & we were able to clean up the paw & bandage it & nursed the little guy back to health. "Jesse" (as in Jesse James, 'cause of the mask :) ) stayed our pet for close to five years until he decided to take off with a family of raccoons that used to hang out in our backyard & trash my Mom's flowerpots & birdbaths. We'd still see Jesse from time to time & he'd always come right to us & still ate out of our hands -- he just LOVED Cheeto's lol. I apologize for rambling on, seeing your baby raccoon reminded me of our Jesse -- that was 18 years ago. One of these days I will have the Macaw and spider monkey I've always wanted :) Both of my daughters want to be veterinarians -- I can't wait! Nice to meet you :) Angelique (ariesangel) |

| Comments: | We've done some rehabilitating, but never with squirrels. Word just got around that we would take things. The best time, as I look back on it, was when our sons were in grade school and made us a schedule and took turns every two hours nights to feed the current residents and then left notes for the next person like "Sorry I got up late they were just fed at such and such a time so you don't have to." They researched what needed to be done for the birds and taught them to bathe and fly. Great experiences for them, but just seemed so normal at the time. Wish we lived closer, you would have some helpers! |

| Comments: | Hello Snickers From one animal lover to another, thanks for taking care of so many creatures. Our small farm in Pennsylvania has 22 cats, one dog, and two horses. The cats have all been rescued, some dropped off by irresponsible owners, others abandoned by others. All have been "fixed" and each has its own record of vaccinations.
It is a big chore keeping up with everything, but the animals' safety and welfare comes first. We currently have a pet door so the majority of them can come and go, until just before nightfall, then it is time to gather up the herd.
