Comments:Arghhhh as i sit here on a magnificient autumn day and look out of the 18th floor of the St Kilda Road Police complex at the shrine of rememberance i cant help but think of two things. The first was a lovely young lady that i met at the Tok H nightclub in South Yarra in about 1989 and the thrill that we both felt back then as we fumbled stickly at each other while looking up from the steps of the shrine. It was around 3am i believe. The second was my days as a player at the Isambard CC and the enjoyment it brought to me as i watched the faces of some fantastic young men, as they watched me bat and bowl all day. I will never forget those times and how important the word team really meant. As soon as my batting and bowling was done (maybe a little keeping) that was the time that team could really enjoy themselves. Well done Keeeeeefy and with a bit of luck we will have our first arrest down at Rye this year. Give it a good crack.

Comments:Very informative site from what I can gather is a very professional well drilled club. I will make one observation however in regards to your choice of vice captain. The last time I saw Collo in a game of cricket was to say the least disturbing. In a friendly game of police v lawyers, which had been played in good spirits, raymond proceeded to steam in from the long run and bowled a bean ball diretcly at the poor un suspecting lawyer batsmens head. Not sure if it was Ray dislike for those in the legal profession or his general lack of control on the cricket ball. Either way a very un savoury moment. Having been given a position of responsibility I am sure Ray has changed his ways and sets a fine example.

The news section – very funny. Good to see Keith's CD collection is still as extensive. Quotes from a filthy Who track: Webmaster, you are spoiling us.
Good to see an excellent finish to Y23. Sorry I couldn't turn out, maybe bext year?
I'll CU all @ the curry nite folks!

Quick joke: Why did Karl Marx hate drinking a nice cup of tea? Because proper-tea is theft.

I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for disappointing performance that I put in not only with the bat, but also in the field.

Comments:Another good performance last Sunday - we deserved to win and, had the home umpires not sawn off four batsmen, I believe we would have done. Does anyone else believe that this cost us the game?

Anyway, let's concentrate on the positive sides of the cricket - a great retrun from Graham, and some spirited batting and fielding. Roll on June 9!

Comments:Great to start the season with a win - a very professional performance. I'm inclined to think my earlier comments about local authority pitches were completely borne out by our track and its neighbour (which produced an almost-identical result). Anyway, on to Academicals, and hopefully some warmer weather!

Six-a-Side. I've also updates the action photos and tidied
up any rogue links. I have come across a problem, though -
the photos and buttons tend to be rather large in places.
This is due to problems with my software which seem to have
just arisen. I apologise to anyone who's been put off
their food by large photos of Rob Miller.

Comments:I am sure I am not the only one in this team who gets
pretty pissed off at the lack of committment of some
Isambard players. In the absence of Nathan, Adam and I
have been trying to arrange players for the Stoke Green
game this weekend. This is a game, remember, that people
have been aware of for over a month, and opposition that
people specifically requested that we visit again.

So why do we have so many players - I can immediately think
of three - who were dead certs for the match, but have now
cried off, due to other longstanding committments?
Fortunately, and through a great deal of hard work, it
looks like we will get a team of sorts (although probably
not eleven) together.

Personally, I go to a lot of trouble to arrange fixtures
against our opponents. It's at times like this that I
wonder why I bother. Can Isambard's players restore my
faith in human nature?

i.e. Sun and Melrose - so I can update this site a bit?
Should Mr.Sturgess be reading this on the quiet, perhaps he
could write something, or alternatively just send me the
scorecards and I'll write some old crap.

Finally, I hope to improve the site a bit further in the
next couple of weeks. Incidentally, anyone like the idea
of an 'Isambard Cricketers Almanack 2000' - like Wisden
(but shorter!)?

Just read yet another ICC match report that puts the

Is anyone else out there planning to chuck a sickie to watch

Are there any other social pariahs who want to play for ICC
