Hi Claudia, I was surprised to see that no one has been here in quite a few months. Let me take a few minutes and wish you a very happy new year and all the best for 2008. How are you? Hope all is well with you and your family. Things are good here too. Did a lot of baking at Christmas. Made Christmas sugar cookies, the whole works, decorated the tree and had snowmen/women all over the place! (I love snow people) After the last couple of years with medical ups/downs I can now say thankfully it should be a good year for us. I cant wait to see the new HP movie with AR! So many great movies this time of year. So far we have seen Shrek 3, Pirates of the caribbean, and are waiting eagerly to see The new Transformers movie followed by our favoirte guy Professor Snape!!! Anyone know of any book parties going on around the east coast of the US for the book debut? We usually go to a store and enjoy the party etc. and are right there in front to eagerly get the new book in our grubby little hands! I cant wait to see what happens..Anyway, happy spring everyone and summer. Dont get here much anymore. So glad your site is still here Claudia-great job as usual.

I saw Alan in NYC last month! He was taking a tour with our group of the NBC Studios and then went on the architectural city tour too..He was so nice and polite. We didn't hound him either but talked with a small group of us afterwards and gave out a few autographs. I will cherish mine forever

Tomorrow is Groundhogs day in America. Supposedly if the groundhog sees his shadow we have 6 more weeks of winter, if he doesnt I believe its only 4. (He somehow always seems to see the shadow though)

Airport phone cards
When you are in Airport or Terminal you can use an airport phone system to call domestic or international. In all cases it is much more expensive. When you have in your pocket the prepaid cheap phone cards it is no problem to use our cheaper International calls!

Just thought I'd drop in and say hi Claudia. Things seem to be quiet over here. Hope everything is going well with you and your family. We only have one more week of school and we officially start out summer vacation..Yeah!! Cant wait to get out and start gardening again. It got hot, then it dropped back to chilly temps again. I dont mind, I thought it felt pretty good.. I finally had the chance to view Something The Lord Made about a month or so back. What an excellent film. I enjoyed reading the past entries of the DT from a few years ago. Lets get Sinclair and the others back again and get a party going. I hope people start to create a new scene (or my favorite-the Island) and get back to what the DT's intended to be, a fun place to entertain and be entertained.

I have bought my sons school supplies, clothes etc. and we start back next week. I'll be busy up to the eyeballs with my husbands surprise 50th Birthday party next month, getting books sorted for a November book sale and the clothing exchange I help out in to pass out free winter clothing to those that dont have any or enough. Yikes. This is the busy time of year for me. I also said I would help clean the church as its so close to my house and the money will really help out as I havent had a "real" paycheck since 1992 when my son was born! Lets make these last days of summer linger as long as we can. Enjoy

Claudia a very serious rumor was started about me and it was continued over this past year by being repeated regularly on the DT, even to people who were new and I repeatedly denied it; I even put the post they misinterpreted on the DT to clear up the misunderstanding, but they kept it up, you don't read the DT so you don't know what was said, but believe me it was not any trivial violation like reposting someone's post to correct a lie.
It's vicious to lie saying someone is suicidal or in need of psyciatric care, crazy, etc., like was done to me. I doubt my reputation here will EVER recover.

I thought I had made a few friends, but all friendly posts were for the most part anonymous (if they let it be known they were friends with me they would get attacked). Since I don't know who was nice and who was pretending to be nice and then would spread lies about me, there's no point in staying. And that's the whole truth.

There are no archives of the DT or Soloflights Guestbook. The archives of Flights of Fancy are so people can read the stories from the beginning, the archives of the AR Guestbook are so people can find discussions and information about AR that have taken place in the past.

It is just bad manners to copy and paste someone else's posts from one guestbook or forum to another without permission. That should be common sense!

Claudia, what is the purpose of The Downtime Bar "cached"? are these posts forbidden to be read? are they forbidden to be re-posted?

I know you asked that posts from The Downtime Bar not be posted here on the Solo Flights GB, but someone has the mistaken idea that no one is allowed to repost anything, anywhere? so, why do the achives exist? many people refer to the past and get it wrong, the archives hold the truth, I can't find anything wrong with that, especially when someone posts rumors that can be dispelled by posting what was actually said in a former post. Help!:)

They're not able to track you via the Extreme tracking thing, they won't be able to tell who posted what. I've reported the person to their ISP so we'll see if it gets taken further. The ISP is your internet service provider, the IP address is a unique number that is allocated to you when you log on - some people have the same fixed number each time they log on, others the last sets of numbers can change each time. I'm not intending the tracker to stay there for long, I just wanted to get a feel for who was using it.

Oh, and the message board keeps a log of every person who posts, (what their IP address is) so the extreme tracker is just there to see how many people use it, and where they are from. Basically to see how popular it is (if its one person posting over and over again, or really lots of people visiting), to see if its worth keeping it or not.

As I didn't write the definition, no I can't. "banned" on message boards means banning an IP address (which is the information logged by the tracker - but it only shows the last 20 visitors before rolling over, and is not saved) the IP address can also appear in the header of an e-mail, even if you use hotmail or yahoo. IP addresses can be banned, not e-mail addresses. And banning IP addresses isn't a long-term solution, as they can vary each time a person logs in.

If you don't like it there - don't go there either. I'm sure there are nicer places to visit on the web. I just provide the space, and those that play there, do so at their own risk. Claudia, Thanks for the fun on this site. I thought the DT had changed and tried to post some fun island things, but see someone used my name tonight and said I was going to make Snape cookies. They look to be also saying things about various other posters. It sounds like a vengeful person full of spite. I for one will not tolerate it. Will try to come back when they grow up. I just thought to have a look here - and wish to offer my appreciation to you for giving me a place to hang out. The DT (delerium tremens) is on my morning and early evening hit list along with the news and weather and a Diana Gabaldon site The Ladies of Lallybroch - I also check my email - averaging over 100 emails per day from the shih tzu/lhasa apso rescue group that I am a part of (they need to get a page like the GB) and I do my ebay stuff.
I think that maybe I'm spending too much time on this silly machine, my husband should not have given me a laptop, my Mac won't fit in the kitchen, and I would not use it nearly as much!
I buy so much stuff online now too - my daughter saw a teenager with a very cool anime-cat backpack last week, I found it on ebay the next day, and we got it yesterday sooo cute. I buy my hot tub chemicals and my pet care products online - but it means that I do not shop - I don't go out! Anyway, drinking in a real bar only gets you hit on by wierd guys and pulled over for DUI, the DT is much safer - Thanks again, I have made friends here - even if they are "virtual" I try to ignore the oddballs in the corner who like to stir things up, (I'm kind of glad Jeff's gone - he smelled pretty bad.) Someone has to go and drag AR back in occasionally so we can party.....

Think of all the people please being affected by hurricane Charley down in Florid and moving up the East Coast in the US. My sister is in the Brevard County Area and I pray they are okay. I clicked on "Diary" and noticed the December animated art with the lights...that's a pleasant one because it's slow -- the fast, spasdic type (anyone's not just yours) keep "catching my eye" and make me nervous. Wouldn't it be cute to do musical notes in a flowing style?

Hi Claudia! Whew!! I guess I caused some trouble recently, and I would like to apologize for it. FYI, I was playing with someone on the DT under an assumed name. We were pretending to be teenagers who dated AR, when other posters got upset. We really had no idea it would cause such a ruckus. When folks started impersonating our teen characters, we retaliated by impersonating them. It was odd because they hated us, then they were pretending to be us. If anyone has any problems at the Downtime, could you let me know in an e-mail? I don't check the DT at all, unless I get an e-mail, so leaving messages for me there will just get missed.
Have deleted the post with names in large red letters as requested by both sides.

I haven't gone through and read everything but someone seems to be arguing with themselves in there, for some reason. Time to take a deep breath, and a break from it, I think.

Claudia, I'm not sure if you have an email for Zzzzz but she has been writing hostile posts since last night to herself and everyone and started on the GB today also. It is very scary and have never seen her go over the edge like this. I think she needs a little rest away from here for a while. If you have your email perhaps you could correspond with her as she heading for a complete nervous breakdown etc. and yelling at everyone that has ever posted on the site. Hi Claudia, Maybe you should take a peek at the DT. Someone is really ranking on Smoke and her work and is using quite foul language etc. in their attempt to impersonate her writings. I believe they are also the ones that go in and impersonate teens every night and fill up the board so no one else gets a chance. Thanks Claudia. Fun is fun but that is just vile. I have a free program on my computer which stops pop ups called NoAds. Saves me heaps of grief, so I never ever see the pop ups. I do agree they have gone overboard at Tripod, including 4 pop ups, and in-page advertising on every page. They sure are trying to get rid of non paying customers! Trouble is, if I move the site, which will take me a little while, I should really do some tidying and updating, and I just don't seem to have the spare time at the moment. Maybe will do once the weather turns nasty and I can't go riding anymore.
