Comments:Dear Mr Somtow I have taught and recommended your wonderful work Jasmine Nights in South Africa, China and now Bali. I frequently recommend this work as an example of promoting individual cultural identity and intercultural awareness- a key focus of the international baccalaureate organisation. If you are ever interested- and have the time- in communicating with groups of international teachers and students, we would love to hear from you.

Comments:I don't see any mention of the High Inquest anywhere on your web page, so thought I'd better say that there's at least one person who's greatly enjoyed re-reading "The Darkling Wind" (and predecessors) every now and then over the last 20 years! I've always enjoyed the self-conscious (but not heavy-handed) sense of myth perception (I particularly like the conversation between Zalo and Davaryush towards the end of the last book). And it's just a stonking good read, too.

Comments:I have recently purchased "Bluebeard's castle" and am enjoying my reintroduction to this delightful tale. I was one of the lucky people to hear SP Somtow read numerous chapters of this work live at various events in the Denver area sometime in 1995 or 1996. However, I never did hear the end of the tale, and am looking forward to getting past the point where the author's readings left off. I was also one of the participants in the mass ordination that SP Somtow did at the MIleHI convention in Denver that year. I doubt that he will remember me from any of these activities, but I consider it an honor to have met him

Comments:I have recently bought a copy of the book "BlueBeard's castle". I am enjoying reading it and can't wait to get to the ending. I heard most of the first couple of chapters read aloud by SP Sowtow back in 1996 when he read the at the Little Bookshop of Horrors back in denver and at the Milehigh Con as well. However, I never heard past Jude explorering the rooms with BlueBeard's wives. I enjoyed listening to this back then, and rereading this is just as much fun the second time around. I doubt if SP Somtow remembers me, but I was also one of the people ordained at the mass ordination at the Mile high convention that same year '96.

Comments:A previous passenger had left a book- a collection of horror stories- on the plane. The last offering in the compendium was "The Bird Catcher." Not only are you a remarkably talented writer technically, but also a superb storyteller.Your imagery and observations of modern Bangkok were spot-on.( A good friend from Bangkok remembers being coerced into acceptable behavior as a child by parental threats of a visit from Si Ui.)

Comments:This is second time that I sign in this dream book.I came often in this important chapter of Asia`s of culture and more I read it , more I am amazed with the Man that I belive is an extraordinary artist and creator, by all meaning. To call Somtow "Spring Mind" is not enough. I would call him an uragan of creativity. He is everything that a great artist, a rare dimensional personality could be:Universal, poetic, sofisticated, unlimited...He live our time but much far beyond this time, ahead of as.
