Name: Soul Brotha Jules
Comments:I was fortunate enough to produce the Soul Bucket during the last year of the show. I had never met anyone as passionate about music as Matt and jumped at the opportunity to not only pull vinyl, but take listener requests, let him steal my women and most importantly learn from him (about music, not women). I downed more knowledge about Staxx, Volt, King and Aladdin records than any white boy from the south coast ever has. Getting to take requests from his ribald and devoted fans was a bonus.

Comments:There are two things that come to mind when I think of the Soul Bucket, the 1st would have to be the day Matt The Cat (in those days, know as “Matt The Swinging Cat”) and I were driving to the WERS studios from the North Shore. We were pressed for time anyway, but when we reached Lynn, MA, a huge stretch of the Lynnway (the most direct route into Boston) was closed. Literally, just taking guesses and following the lights of the city, we were able to get to the studios with just minutes to spare. In the building, I was literally running down the halls with Matt’s CDs as he did his show intro. But….we made it!

My other memory would have to be Matt’s last show on WERS which was catered by Chef Sean. Sean had made a ton of the hottest buffalo wings on the planet. We all thought we could handle them, but that was not the case. Sean’s “Crybaby Wings” lived up to their name. Immediately after having one wing, my eyes started watering and I, along with a few others were on the search for a water fountain. Apparently Emerson College only has one water fountain in that building….and it hasn’t been maintained since 1975. We all lined up, tears in our eyes….waiting for the smallest dribble of water to relieve our aching mouths,
