The President has ordered the flag be flown at half-staff at all public buildings and Virginia Governor Tim Kaine has declared today a day of mourning in the Commonwealth of Virginia. His fellow governors across the country are echoing his request that all citizens pause at 12-noon Eastern Time for a minute of silence to reflect and offer prayers and thoughts of support for the victims and their families and all those affected by this tragic event. I join this call and ask that VA employees pause with the rest of the nation at 12 p.m. Eastern Time today to reflect and remember. She was rushed to the ER last night with severe stomach pains, and then transferred to Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, where she is probably going to be undergoing surgery for "some sort of blockage". Her condition is very guarded, she is 82 years old. Please also pray for Joe and our family. Those who have been to the chapel know Joe well. He was assaulted in town by a gang of teens who were egging cars and harrassing people, on Halloween night. Joe stepped in to protect a lady and her child, who were being harrassed on their own lawn, and one of the gang punched Joe hard and knocked him to the ground. Physically we think he'll be fine, but we're all very shaken by this, and then the news about my Mom on top of it.... He will be pressing charges. Please pray for our whole family. Thank you.

Cousin Tommy, whom on trying to contact him to let him know about his mother, we discovered is also in the hospital, conscious but unaware, hallucinating, in the last stage of lung cancer. He is not expected to survive much longer. And my Mom, who is so sad and hurt by the news of her sister and nephew, whom she raised for quite a few years while his parents were going through a rough divorce and transition. And myself.
