Great site, I just nicked a copy of the 78 TD wagon because it's almost identical to the one I owned (sure miss it).
I live in Venezuela now and all we have is the Chevrolet Chevettes over here with the poxy Opel motor.
One thing we do have that could interest people in Oz is utes. Yep, you heard right, Gemini utes. I'm sure someone could trick one up nicely back home.
I will try to send a pic if I can get one.

South Africa never got that model Opel Kadett. They now have the Brazilian designed Corsa 'bakkie' (that's Barina ute to you).

Comments: Hey, cool site. I am in the U.S., and I own a 1976 Opel by Isuzu that I am slowly working on. It's pretty messed up right now, but hopefully it will eventually be done. I pulled out the Isuzu 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine, and am now working on installing a Chevy 2.8 liter V6 with a 5 speed manual transmission behind it. It has a hood scoop from an 81 Ford mustang on it right now, as well as wheels from a 76 Chevy Vega. I have (but have not installed yet) a dashboard from a Vega GT that is going to go in there, too. Just wanted to let you know that i think you have a great site here, and keep up the good work!!

Comments:Well I must say I can tell u that my first car was a gemini and i wasent sad to see it go.I had my fun with it and then i let it go, and as the saying gose if u love something let it go and if it loves u it will come back,Well I must say that the other saying is right to (in the gemmy world) U all ways come back to a gemini and here i am.I went from an 80 model TE sedan to an 92 model diahatsu applause then with a baby on the way I had to get a bigger car u know for the pram nappy bag tool box sub amp spare tyre so on and so on, so I then went to a 91 model vn berlina and man I love the power. But now i have a new car on the way a 79 model TD gemini that is ready for the paint and im looking for help on a cheap qwick motor were and how the wiring loom gose and how much u think i should spebd on a buget of a govenment hand out as well as my baby boy to support.Well i have to tell u about my last gem red 14" try spocks i got rid of the 1600 and got a 1800 stage 2 cam ( nice and lumpy)ported and polished full worked nikki carby (the carby was jeted like a 40mm webber so it was pesky porker prof as in if thay did the once over it looked standed)a set of custom extractors to suit the motor, from the extractors back it went 2" pipe to a turbo exhust to 2" pipe in to a 3" hotdog in to 2" pipe on o a 2" chrome tip.I know thats not much but for the gemini that was heaps, the motor was the only thing going fro it the paint was on it way out and the rust well it had had its day. I bought the car for $3000 and sold it for $3600 and the kid how bought it just said il take it no test drive nothing, well i was glad it was fucked. But on the other hand he was an apprentace spray painter and it was the best thing the car ever had a full coat of paint and some long awated tlc. Ha and your dight very good i will be back soon to see if i can get some addvice for the Td got to go see ya

did not have only 1 engine,it did have a 1600 and march 83
onwards had the option of 1800 and 1600 cc.
as well as that a 1.3 litre suzuki sierra engine is an

Comments:Mate... I don't think I've ever encountered a more deluded
bunch of KIDS in my life.... I must say from the outset
though, you do have quite good taste in cars. I myself am
the proud owner of a genuine 1977 TD SL/E Gemini Sedan
which I have put a great deal of time and effort (and
$$$$$) into. I know how quick Gems are, and to all of you
who have holley-fed 1600cc naturally aspirated motors -
give up now. The best performance you'll get will be by
whacking in some flat-tops, shaving the head past the
limit, massive port job, 350cfm holley and a "largish'
cam... This combo will go all right - you may even beat a
VK commodore with a starfire!!! If you want real ball-
tearing, seat-nailing, brick-shitting performance I suggest
you look into forced induction. And don't tell me it's
unreliable - because I live in FUCKING DARWIN - possible
the most harsh and unpredictable climate in Australia (with
the worst fuel). But a word of warning to those who quest
for the elusive "Isuzu Horsepower" grail - it doesn't
fucking exist!!! I've probably blown more isuzu bottom ends
than you've had hot dinners, and had them built tougher
every time. All to no avail.
As my motor has just shit itself for the umpteenth time I
find myself looking into putting a Buick V6 or even a
rotary motor (god forbid) in the beaaaastie. So if any of
you out there have some decent tech facts that relate to my
situation - MAIL ON DUDES!!! And to those who want to mail
me just to shit on me - MAIL ON DUDES!!! I welcome it.
Oh - the Gem also runs Camry DBA rotors on Gemini hubs with
Volvo 4-spot callipers, a full Whiteline Suspension Kit
(yes, it really is worth it) 215/50X13 on the front,
235/50x13 on the rear, and does get regularly raced at our
Hidden Valley raceway!

Comments:Yeah man,
Good site - nice and informal. Yep, Geminis do rock.
People will knock them, but if the Isuzu Bellett can become
a classic, then the Gemini will just do better one day.
I've got a tough little TD Gemini panelvan. I've just
lapped Mallala raceway in 1:39.10 which isn't quick, but
it's a lot quicker than a stocky will do. Actually, my
G161 is stock, aside from a head rebuild, new pistons and
rings and a DGV Weber carby. Can stoke up the fat 14" 205s
from about 2500rpm too, so it's got plenty of grunt for
what it is. Can't wait to fit the VN Commodore engine
though........

Comments:Hey chief!
Your a legend! This is one of the best gemi sites I have
seen. My names Tina ( teenie ). I have a yellow Tf gemi.
I sprayed the interior black but itz a bit stuffed. I'm
recovering the door skins tomorrow. The paint was half
good stuff and half cheap shit. The last time I go cheap.
The roof still isn't dry so I have to get a new one 2morrow
from the wreckers and the door skins are a bit sticky so
i'm just covering them with material. Anyway betta go.
Keep up the good work. Teenie XXX

Comments:What's up Splatt? Great site!!!! What irony, here in the
U.S.(Los Angeles)people used to laugh at Isuzu(Holden)
because the cars were to small. Americans still like big
gas hogs, especially now with these big suv's that look
like big boxes with wheels(can't stand them). I myself
own a Saab 900 turbo,Audi Quattro and last but not least
a 1988 Ford Festiva(fun to drive. One day these americans
will learn to appreciate smaller fast cars especially when
they start paying as much for gas as they do in europe.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
