I am the proud owner of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy named Blackjack. We have had him since he was 3 months old and he is now up to 10 months. He is my first Staffie, and I am totally in love with him. Talk about your Type A personality, he definitely has it going on. This was my first experience purchasing a dog thru a kennel, and I was told that he came with a health guarantee. I did not find out till after the first week that their guarantee meant they would give us another puppy. Well, of course we bonded with him from the first second that he picked us, and of course we just kept him. Anyway, he has suffered from generalized demodectic mange since the first day we had him. I have been thru months of Ivermectin treatment, and he gets better then he will get worse. I supplement his food with vitamins, a fatty acid supplement, and extra protein. What I would like to find out from someone with some knowledge on the breed are the following things: #1 What dog food is reccomended for this type of dog with the above health concerns #2 Any special shampoo to relieve itching? #3 Should I have him neutered? I paid alot of money for this dog,absolutely adore his personality, and would love to breed him once, just so we could have HIS puppy. I just don't want to create a litter of unhealthy dogs, as I am afraid that the dogs from this particular breeder are. #4 Do I need to be concerned about using a flea & tick treatment on him? I live in the mountains, and the tick & flea season is upon us. I am concerned that mixed with Ivermectin & demodectic mange, I could end up irritating his skin even more. I know this is alot to ask, but I am so happy to have found someone else with dogs like this. The vet that have been using is one of those anti-bulldog types, and I am also shopping for a new doggie doctor. I also believe that this particular breed is specific in some different health and diet concerns, so I am really in need of another Staffie persons expertise. I have to say this is one of the most beautiful breed books ever published. It gets better and better every year - the quality is outstanding and the presentation is very professional as well as beautiful. I like the special little touches too. Each book comes with its own Stafford World bookmark and comes wrapped in cellophane. I appreciate that Juanita takes the time to personalise the books for the advertisers - this makes receiving your own copy quite special. I like the new A4 size too. Stafford World claims to offer "fact, opinion, education & experience - the four elements essential to the development of any breed". It lives up to its claim. I love the features from Australia, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.K. & the U.S.A. To sum it up in three small words - IT IS GREAT !!!! :-) I am already looking forward to next year's. |

| Comments: | Chester Mollart entered the world on November 26 1999, the
first and only son, to date, of Peggy (Ramblestaff Dana Scully), and Rufus (Tolien Terracotta Soldier). He was swiftly followed by two adorable little sisters. We took charge of him on January 7 2000, and life has been a riot since! He is pure joy. We lost our beloved Staffy, Bomber, on December 5 1999 after being blessed with his presence for almost twelve years (he would have been twelve on December 10 1999) and it was the most devastating day of our lives to date. He was one in a million. Unfortunately, we never got around to registering him with the kennel club as we lost his pedigree papers etc. and we heard that soon after the breeders that we had bought him off had emigrated to Australia. It was unimportant to us that he was not registered as we only ever intended to have him as a pet so we never really pursued the matter. Now the story is different as both myself and the breeder that we have had Chester from are convinced that somewhere down the line they are related. I would love to hear from anybody who purchased a black or black and white S.B.T. from Fenpark, Stoke-on-Trent, from a person I believe to be named Mr.Simpson. Their D.O.B. was 10/12/87. Dam was known as "Jess", sire as "Bomber", they also had an American Pit Bull known as "Duchess", who was so sweet and gentle. From what Ican remember Mr. Simpsons wife was named Bev. I would really appreciate any help on this matter. |

Great head, front and topline. I know very little about judges. Any advice would be very welcome. I have him with a handler now. He seems to want to "play" with me in the ring! I intend to finish him, and special him. I know very little, except that he's something else! |
