My geckos tail fell of today and I was wondering if it was because of the food. I feed him mealworms and the fact that they change to beetles would that make him scared enough to lose his tail? I hate him with a passion when I first saw him cause just like yours, he lost his tail and like other people say, it looks like he has 2 heads. His name is Carl (don't ask wasn't my choice) But when he eats his food, he shakes his tail and then eats them. When I pet his back he arches it. My whole family loves him so much he is the cutest thing ever. He has been alive for so long! Good to see other ppl like his just as much as I do! |

| Comments: | Our friends just gave us "Scooter" our 4 yr old "Fatty". The crickets were in the first night and that was the last. They moved to the garage :) "Scooter" ROCKS!!!! My three children rotate on "who" gets to feed him. It's been a month now and they are diggin him. So is Mum and Dad! If we are to go on vacation (we have had several offers to watch him which we will take them up on if we leave more than a couple of days)for a weekend how many crickets do you suppose I should give him? We were told 3-5 daily but it's so new I think he is getting a couple bonus like 5-7 daily. Is that to much? What is this sweat house I have read on your comments?

| Comments: | This is an amazing site!!! Thank you so much, I read the whole site it was very informative. I wish you would get a leopard gecko so you can make a site for them too. I just recently purchased an African fat tail gecko. I was looking in getting another leopard gecko. I have had Alphie (female leopard gecko) for a year now and was hoping to get a friend. Well the pet shop had two fat tails and one (my Fezz now) was so lovely and friendly, unlike Alphie who prefers to explore instead of being held. Well I fell in love with him and got him last week. Plus tanks were on sale so I got Alphie a 20-gallon but I am going to have to get Fez a 20 also. So now I was just looking up how to properly take care of him and your site has been a great help. I’m not so worried that I’m doing a bad job any more. |
