Cast your mind back to July 1996 when you helped me get my Class 1 licence. What a great feeling that was to pass my test. I'm still working on the Windfarm near Launceston, but trucking when I get time. Do some for Samworths at Callington, and Intercounty at Launceston. Was at SA Trucks today, thought I would say hello to you............you've moved! Anyway, I hope you're keeping well.

Comments:Dear Steve,

I hope you are well. Please give my regards to Peter, my great instructor.

Thought you might be interested in an update on progress.

Class 2 work was very slow coming after I first qualified but then I forged a good relationship with an agency in West London and, as a short notice stand-in, I obtained free HIAB training & qualification.

Since then, my phone has never stopped ringing (one day FOUR agencies wanted my services) and I have also had the opportunity to visit Heathrow T5 and many other interesting places.

I am now working every day, if I want.

Just to give you a flavour: last Wed I drove an 18t 6-speed DAF HIAB, last Thurs I drove a 24t 3-axle Merc HIAB, last Fri I drove a 24t 3-axle Scania (with 4t forklift on the rear). 6-speed, 4+4, 4 over 4, all within 3 days!

My 95% work now is HIAB, usually on 3-axle jobs for Jewson or Travis Perkins.

Athough, I learnt my HIAB skills elsewhere. But, when I drive, I am constantly reminded of your excellent training and you can tell Peter that the safety-first skills I learnt under him have both not only been well remembered but have also been applied in deploying my new-learnt skills.

With best wishes to all at SRTS Limited,

PETER FORREST

Peter was fantastic and I appreciated his knowledge and his delicate way of putting his point across.
I have nothing but praise for the whole company, if you were thinking of training for any of the activities that Steve deals with, you'd be hard pushed to find anyone better.
Many thanks once again, best wishes to you all.

Here's yet another email praising Trevor - the man is, quite simply, a diamond. He is a calm, professional, friendly and just generally excellent instructor who got me through my Cat D Coach test. He had faith in me even when I was doubting myself, and I will miss him - driving without his calm instructions just won't quite be the same!

Thanks to you, too, for being consistently friendly, professional and accommodating right from the first day I came to chat to you. I've felt welcomed and supported throughout the whole process, and am absolutely made up that I've finally fulfilled my dream of getting my coach licence!

I would thoroughly recommend your school to anyone - I saved up to do this and it was definitely money well spent.

Thanks again to you both,

Comments:Steve,

I’d like to say thanks for the excellent two refresher training sessions that I had with Trevor. He is a fantastic instructor and I came away having two very enjoyable sessions, as well as some very valuable experience (especially with the strong wind and rain on Wednesday) and some great tips from Trevor on how to handle certain situations.

The coach was brilliant, far better than the others I have driven and in great condition.

I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone, and I hope to come back a little later in the year to do the same thing again.

Kindest regards to you and Trevor,

Richard.

Despite living nearly 200 miles away in North London, I chose SRTS because my web searches indicated that SRTS were professional, represented good VFM, and would train me using a vehicle which would give me more confidence (many companies seem to use 'mickey mouse' flat bed vehicles).

I was not disappointed. The training provided by SRTS was comprehensive and delivered in an informative, effective and no-nonsense style. PS. having a sense of humour helps!

I would recommend SRTS unreservedly. Repeat business is always the best advert so let me say now that I shall be using SRTS when I decide to go for C+E.

Comments:Hi Steve,
I promised Trevor that I would send you something for your website.
Basically, thanks for everything. From the first day with Peter training on LGV C, to the last day with Trevor taking my LGV C+E test, everything has been professional and totally competent. I was made to feel welcome and capable at every stage. We had some laughs and we got the work done without any problems. I took my training while on holiday from my job, so it was really a busmans holiday, but as such, I really enjoyed the experience.
Having passed my LGV C+E on the 3rd March 2006, I applied for several jobs, and within 2 weeks , I had an interview lined up with Redland Distribution Limited ! Consequently, due to giving a months notice at my old job, I start for RDL on 2nd May 2006.
Not a bad result, I have improved my basic pay by a minimum of £5000 a year, and I'll get to drive a variety of vehicles, drawbar, artic, crane and moffett.
Thanks for everything and keep it up ;-)
To anybody wondering whether Steve Robertson Training Services are the ones to use, stop wondering, and just DO IT !
You will get the best training out there, the rest is up to you.

Best regards

The best news was a pass on the theory test of 35 out of 35 and a pass of 57 out of 75 on the Hazard perception.
Thanks once again for the help and see you for my practical instruction couse.

Dear Steve

I am writing to thank you for the professionalism of your company during the past week.
I passed my test first time and believe that choosing SRTS was the best thing I did. Peter is an excellent instructor, has a good sense of humour and plenty of patience. When I apply for my C+E I would like to be trained by Peter if possible. I already have a job lined up for Monday and within the next six months I will book for my artic course.

Comments:I can hardly believe it is already 4 months since you got me my HGV1 licence, and 6 since my HGV2. Time flies though, working 60 to 70 hours a week. For a few days after I got my artic licence I carried on doing agency work, but then joined a big outfit up north driving freezer or rather "temperature-controlled" wagons. (Mostly chilled or frozen loads, but sometimes bananas.) I get to see a heck of a lot of places from Cumbria down to Kent, Northumberland to Somerset. Just a pity I am still waiting for a ride as far as Exeter. One of the best has been Cromer on the Norfolk coast, where the lorry park is right on the seafront. Unobstructed view of the sea plus a nice cafe nearby serving full English breakfast even at the crack of dawn on a Sunday in mid winter. Britain is a really beautiful country, and much better seen from the vantage point of a truck than a car. So I am really glad I decided to go for my HGV driving licences, and only wish I had done so a lot sooner. And after all I have heard over the last few months, I am still convinced I chose the best school in the country to learn at. With the benefit of teaching from Steve, John, and Peter, the words of all 3 of you still ringing in my ears, I seem to have overcome most of the nasty habits I picked up since I learnt to drive car back in the early seventies. I sincerely hope so anyway! If not, I only have myself to blame. Thank you all again for all you did for me. I hope to get the chance to see you soon. Kind regards, David Wharton.

Comments:Well... I did it!! I passed my LGV Category C test first time and it's all thanks to Peter! He never gave up on me even when I'd given up on myself (never managed to make it a day without hitting at least one curb!) - he even put in extra hours to help me, which I think got me through the test.

I passed with only 8 minors - Peter said I could do it and he was right! I can now go and get a job doing something that I've always wanted to do!

If you're considering training with Steve, do it! Both him and Peter are excellent instructors and it's definately worth travelling that extra distance to come to them.

Cheers Guys!

Dan

PS It still makes me laugh when I think of Peter shouting "Wowowowo" which I think translates to "I do believe you've accidentally selected reverse gear, maybe you should brake before you hit that car behind you!!"

Comments:Yet another vote of confidence for Steve...

I passed my Cat. C test first time in 2002, and I've just got my shiny new licence back from the DVLA after passing my C+E two years later (first attempt again). I've had a small amount of LGV driving experience in the meantime, and despite it being two years since being taught it, I still remember "GOSH" before pulling off (and yes, "Observation" still has /four/ syllables.)

I particularly like the way that Steve does very little to make life easy - a full-sized vehicle with limited visibility, and he's very insistent when you start making repeated mistakes...

Anyway, thanks for getting me through, Steve and John, and hopefully I'll get some good use out of my license.

PS: Have you got the office level yet?
