Comments:What a splendid site! I have been obliged, through my occupation, to reside away from Arnold for over thirty years, and have now retired to this paradise. I was first introduced to The Lakes via 2nd Arnold scouts and became hooked. More importantly, I can never forget where I found Christianity - at St. Mary's. You will find my name in the choir register( used to be kept in the clergy vestry - choir vestry too in those days - circa 1951).The choirmaster was Mr. Bell, whose teachings made my education the richer. It was a mixture of sadness and pleasure, on my recent visit, saying goodbye to my old friend, Tony Dickman, and hello to others, not seen for too long.

Comments:Hi All,

I have removed the email address field from the guestbook because unfortunately email addresses are harvested from guestbooks by spammers. (In fact I found two "MUGU" calling cards (now deleted) that Nigerian 419 scammers leave to indicate the addresses have already been harvested.

If you do want to publish your email address in a post here, I recommend that you do it in the body of your post in a unicode encoded format -which won't be understood by most harvesters.

Tool for converting your address can be found here: Unicode Email Address Converter.

The converted format will look funny in your post (full of % signs and things) but once posted and viewed in a web browser will appear normal. Please note that this won't protect you against manual harvesting though - so if you can avoid doing so - I'd avoid posting your address publically.

Kind Regards,

Andy

Comments:Another shameless plug for Mirabile but we're giving a christmas concert on Sunday 12th December and we'd love a full house. It is once again for the youth worker project so not only will you get an evening of high class and beautiful singing you can also do your bit for JR and future youth workers. Unlike our previous concerts it will be festive music and the chance for some audience carols so you'll get a chance to be part of the evening's entertainment. Am presuming that there will be mince pies aswell so what have you got to lose???
Please also support the 'Wine & Wisdom' evening in aid of cot death in November-it's a little less refined but a guaranteed great night out with food and wine!
Please come to one or both; they are both in aid of fantastic causes close to mine and many other peoples' hearts.

I am planning to do a prayerwalk and meditation around our church with the Pond Hills Lane homegroup later this year and would find more photos and info. to print out helpful. You've put my telephone number next to Roy's name by the way.

Comments:An excellent website. I very much enjoyed reading about your church. It was interesting to see that we, at Christ Church, Cotmanhay and Shipley (Erewash) have very similar activities as yourselves, but not the history! our church is quite small and only about 14 years old, built to replace a Victorian church which was badly effected by mining subsidence. We have a website too, but not properly developed yet.

Comments:Hi Everyone! I have been a member of the Church Choir and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far. It is excellent practice for your vocals because you sing high and low. The people associated with the Church are very kind and helpful, and I have made lots of new friends, some of which I will know now when I move up to Arnold Hill in September. I would recommend this Choir to someone who would like to be in one, it's good fun. Also, this website is very well organised and interesting. Well done!!!
