Comments: The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair. (Douglas Adams)

Comments: I drove through DE this weekend to visit friends in
Wilmington and could not believe that in September 2004 it
will have been 20 years since checking in at Dickinson "D."

Hello to all the friends I have not seen in years.

A quick update since graduation...

1/89-5/90 - Dose of reality. Short stint in NYC with a
publisher.

6/90-12/90 - Even shorter stint in CA writing for an
engineering company. Thanks, Sqwalker, for giving me a
place to crash in KC, KS (or was it MO?)

1/91-5/94 - Restaurant Mgr in Valley Forge and Princeton.

9/93 - Married, Eva. Getting close to ten years with my
best friend.

6/94-12/95 - "Early-life" crisis.

1/96-6/99 - BSCE Ohio State. Going back to school was one
of the greatest decisions I ever made. A great place to
get an education and see a football game. The OSU
Cheerleaders are STILL great gymnasts. BUT THEY STILL
CAN'T CHEER AS WELL AS WE COULD.

7/99-present - Officer, USN, Civil Engineer Corps.
Currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC.

6/2000 - Born, Grant Maxwell. This little guy is a rip.
For all you parents out there, you know what I mean. All
he does is smile and make friends (future cheerleader?).
I'm sure he gets it from his mom.

I wish everybody the best. I haven't made it back for
homecoming in years but am looking forward to our 20th in
2008.

Peace and Love, Andy

thank for our amazing friendships!!

Comments: Go Blue Hens!!! Seems like such a long time since I've
said those words. Lets see... after graduating in 1984 I
became a stockbroker and worked on Wall Street and then an
office in Northern New Jersey. I moved to California in
1987 because of a friend and former cheerleader
Ron "Hoover" Hahn who went into the Marine Corps. and was
stationed out here. I opened my own financial services
consulting practice not long after arriving in California
and have been self-employed ever since. I now live in the
Palm Springs, California area with my wife of 9 years
Tracey and our two boys Chris 7 years (3-3-93) and Eric 4
years (12-14-95).

I still think about my cheerleading days at the U of D
fondly and would welcome any communication with fellow
alumnus. It was truly the best of times!!!

Comments: Hi Everyone! I writing this because I am in dire need of an
assistant coach at the Charter School of Wilmington in
Wilmington, DE. Coaching experience is preferred. The
responsibilities of the assistant coach
would be as follows: In charge of JV squad ( you decide how
many practices they have per week), help me with the Varsity
squad's competition routine, assist me with the Varsity
squad whenever needed (games, some practices, etc.)
The cheerleading squad, in general at this school is only 3
years old. I have been the coach for 2. This is the first
year that there is both a varsity & jv squad. Interested?
Want more info? email me back ASAP.

Comments: Hi there,
I wanted to say hello again, and also say that I have
enjoyed a successful year here at Towson University.I
coached the team through the school's first-ever performance
in the UCA nationals. We did great and learned what will
need to happen to become a competitive squad in Division I.
Thank you to all of the UD parents, friends and the UD cheer
team and staff for their support. Our team was excited to
have so many of you cheering for us. The "rivalry" between
TU and UD cheer is sure to be fun and friendly.
Congratulations to the UD mascot, cheer and dance teams! You
did great!

Years cheered: 1981-84
Comments: Since graduation in 1985 I've been all over the place.
Worked as a park ranger at the Grand Canyon and Everglades,
2 years in Germany in the Army, moved back to Maryland, then
to State College PA, then to my current home of Santa Cruz,
California. Been working as an instructional designer and
programmer since 1989 for the same company -- now work from
home and keep busy with this website in my spare time.
Got my masters from Towson U in '95. I'm married (since '91)
to Kirsten, have a boy named Aidan (6-29-96) who at age two
knows to yell "Go Hens" when he sees the UD pennant in his
room. Still hasn't figured out YoUDee's name though --
keeps calling him I-Dee!

Comments: It would be great to find out what our old team mates were
doing today. I am working as a Facilitator of Curriculum /
Instruction for the Christina District in Newark, Delaware.
I work with the "gifted" students, do staff development,
etc. Also, do independent consulting for districts
particulary in the field of instructional technology. I have
season tickets to the UD football games and naturally sit in
the section next to the band in front of the
cheerleaders.Reminds me of all the fun we use to have during
and after the games. I use to own private gymnastics clubs
in North Carolina and Texas where I trained gymnasts for
competition. Gave me an excuse to still do back handsprings
and flips until my mid 30's! After my divorce I moved back
to Delaware and settled into my oringinal profession
education!

Comments: Hey y'all... this is a forum for us to share news with each
other about what's going on in our lives. Please keep in
mind, however, that everyone has access to this. Feel free
to announce job changes, marriages, new family members,
coordinate tailgates from here... whatever you want. After
100 notes appear, the system will start to recycle the old
notes as new ones come in. You can also leave a note here
if you want your e-mail address added to the alumni
directory, leave comments, make suggestions, ask questions.
Enjoy!
