My husband and I are feeling like we have alot of love now to share with a new puppy. I have just started to explore on the internet and came across High Calling Cockers today. It felt like a "Calling" all of its own. The sweet faces that looked back at me has left me limp and I have cried with excitement for the past two hours. We are looking to have another Buff or Cream girl. As fate would have it, we are going to be in New York next month, very close to you. Is there any information you could share with regard to available puppies? We are older folks, my husband is 65 and I am almost 62. We have grandchildren but they are getting older now and are very respectful of animals so they would be very kind to a new baby in our home when visiting. We, on the otherhand, have plenty of time to love and spoil a beautiful little girl! I have noticed that the puppies are all named, are these names to be kept of changed? I have never signed your guessbook, so I wanted to leave some special thoughts for you. I too was like many other people who have loss a pet. I was looking for something to help my sadness, after the loss of my Siberian, Keely last September, and that is when I came upon your site with all the special readings about grieving a pet. I also found joy in the pictures of the Cocker Spaniel puppies, dogs, music and of course the beautiful faith you have in God. I knew I had found something special, and made many visits to your site when I needed to lift my spirits. Many years before my Siberian, I had owned a Cocker, named Wishbone, and I remembered how wonderfully sweet he was, and had always planned on getting another one; so that is when I contacted you. I thought the hope of getting a puppy from you was just maybe a dream, since I live in Illinois and the distance would be too far, but I remember in one of the E-mails you said, "you prayed I would fine the perfect little Cocker Spaniel puppy". After, talking to many other breeders I would always come back to High Calling Cockers, as I knew that was where my heart was. Well, with prayers my dream did come true with my little GEM, Sparky. I've been doing a little reading up on what to look for, what their characteristics are, problems in the past due to overbreeding, etc. My husband and I just moved from the Mexican/Texas border to northern Indiana about a year ago. We have a nice backyard and no other pets. I also wanted to make sure that one of our sons and his wife were not going to move in before buying a puppy. We still have two sons who live with us, but they are in college--pretty quiet around here. I have just been dying for a cocker spaniel puppy for so long now!!!!!! My great aunt and uncle used to have a buff colored cocker spaniel back in the 1950s and 1960s. My folks and I had two different poodles and assorted other animals through the years. | Comments: | I am one of those people who just lost their baby. We had to put our 13 year old sweet "Taffy" down due to a malignant tumor in her small intestine. We lost her older brother Mocha to lymphoma about a year and half ago. I'm not ready for a new puppy yet, but when we've had a little more time to heal we will definately be looking for another cocker to love.

Lani was born on June 20, 2008. Following a VERY short discussion, we decided to purchase her on the 21st, and we checked your web site VERY often to admire her. We truly feel that the songs and inspirations you have on your web site helped us decide that we needed to get back to church. We attended for the first time in a long time on June 29th, at Princeton Pike Church of God. (link above) Last Sunday, July 6th, we re-dedicated ourselves to attending church so that we can worship the Lord. Even though there was no official "altar call" that Sunday, we felt the need to go to the altar. We knelt at the altar, asked Jesus Christ to come into our lives, and we were born again. We are certain that all the time we spent on your web site helped the Lord to speak to us, and tell us what He wanted from us. We are still listening, and we plan to never stop! You can rest assured that Lani will certainly be living in a Christian home! I would never have believed that God would speak to us through a puppy we only saw pictures of on the internet. | Comments: | Your web site touched us deeply. We are still mourning our two Cocker Spaniels, Misty and Molly, and you seem to understand exactly what we are going through. We lost Molly in May of 2007 from heart disease, and Misty in January this year due to liver cancer. Molly had been fitted with a pacemaker, and it gave us another couple years with her, but Misty's cancer didn't show up until she was already too far gone to do much for her. They were 13 and 14 years old, so they had fairly long, happy lives with us, but it could never be long enough. They live on in our fond memories.

I have always had a male and female but fell ill after a operation and they had left a foreign object inside me for 19 mo.. You are right about loving a "merry cocker". Once you've had one you can't live without one. I have been lucky to had raised two. Sonny I had for 11 years and my last, Oliver, only 7 years. I was unlucky in finding Oliver at a puppymill breeder. I knew the minute I stepped into the house the breeder wasn't reputable but I could not leave without one of those puppies. Ollie gave me so much love and we loved him as well. But the next cocker I get will be one bred for the love of the breed and not for profit only. I have a beautiful all black cocker spaniel named Cheyenne. She is about five years old now. I got her from a rescue home three years ago. She had several health issues at the time, but will excellent care and lots of love, she sailed right past them to become my most cherished pet. Last Monday, I learned that Cheyenne has lymphoma. My heart is broken, as you can imagine. Even just writing this brings tears to my eyes. People have different feelings about how to move forward when something like this happens. Of course, she is getting the best care possible and I will love her with all of my heart to the very end. Cheyenne has always loved being around people and other animals. I feel it would make her happy to have a brother or sister to take care of Mom when she no longer can. If you have any puppies available, I promise they will have the very best life can give. My friends say that they would love to be one of my pets. Additionally, my Mom who is 92, lives with me and she is beside herself with grief over Cheyenne's illness. | Comments: | After seeing your website and crying , sobbing actually, I realized it was divine intervention.. I haven't been able to really grieve the loss of my precious Muffin of 16 years and it's been 4 months since she's been gone.. Thank you for your beautiful,loving,caring website. I'm not sure I will be getting another dog but have felt all along if I do I want another cocker.. Muffin was red, they said she was a "field cocker" and I did have papers but it didn't matter because she was the most incredibly loving cuddley dog ever... Never barked and greeted everyone with her sweet face and friendly nature... During our bible studies in our home she had to be on someones lap and managed to make it difficult during prayer time to hear due to her snoring...seriously...She was the runt of the litter so never was over 20lbs or so... I would love another cocker her size...when I do get one... Is that a possiblity or are most cockers larger.. We've had two dogs each living 15/16 years... I can't imagine living the rest of my life without one.... they are such a wonderful example of God's unconditional love... I cared for and lost my brother to cancer just a month before Muffin died.... My hubby isn't to sure he wants another dog....I would....just don't know the timing...would love a solid color... brown or black...or even red...just can't resist the sweet face with big brown eyes...Anyway.. thanks for listening...what a great family you have.... lots of kids and puppies too.... I had Luke I did not take a vacation or leave him at home for too many hours - I didn't feel right about boarding him ... so now I have planned my first vacation in 5 yrs!
