| Comments: | A friend pointed me to the name SV - I rescued a dog 2 years ago from the pound and was told at the time that they they she was a Corgi Mix. I never felt that was correct, she looked more like a small wolf. Well after looking at a few hundred pics of SV's I really believe she is at least part SV - but really, she looks just like them !! I'm enjoying learning more and can see myself finding a puppy someday to bring home to Isabelle so we can have our own little family. Loved the sight .. . thanks for all the info. |

I had never heard of this breed, but they remind me of a cross between a corgi and norwegian elkhound. "Dobby" is now 4 months old. Everyone who sees him loves him, but no one has heard of this breed - even our vet! I'm so glad I ran across SVs. I love this site, has tons of information. Thanks so much. |

| Comments: | Just wanted to let others know that there is a DNA test done by Mars Veterinary (Wisdom Panel and Wisdom Panel Insights)that now includes the Swedish Vallhund. I always suspected my rescue dog was a Vallhund so I just did it. You can either do a blood test by going to your vet or getting their new cheek swab test that you can do at home (the one I did). Finally a DNA test that includes the Swedish Vallhund! |
