Exhaust is rusty from front to back. A/C worked when I got it but now needs a condenser. Radio does not work. No body rust. It had sat for over 20 years, much of it inside, and we had little trouble coaxing the engine to life, but had to replace many other parts like brakes, fuel pump, belts, hoses, etc. It is in very good condition (a "twenty footer") overall and gets lots of looks and pointing whenever I take it out for a drive. It's a real crowd pleaser. |

I can not describe how much I enjoy this vehicle, not to mention the attention it gets. Quite the ego boost. To date I have yet to see another 108 locally where I live, which is in southwest Missouri, near Springfield. This makes owning a 108 even more of a thrill. The picture I linked to was taken right after I bought the car. I have done some interior work since. But the pic reflects the overall condition of the car. I think I got a pretty good deal at $1800 purchase price for this beauty. |

| Comments: | this is my fisrt car and to be honest i love it. so far i have taken her up to 137mph, and thats cause i got pulled over right after, she has a history behind her: the original owner was a drug dealer and crossing the border he got caught with cocaine. i still have the hole where the feds had to take out the packages. later it was used in a "sting" ending up in an auction. its all original all i need is a valve body for the 4spd transmission in which im having a really hard time finding. to finish this off i just want to say that this has been the best car for me |

| Comments: | I just bought this car today for $1800! Body is perfect with the exception of paint chips. All the chrome is great. The interior is a little rough in the seats and wood. It has the 2.8 straight 6, but the last owner took off the fuel injection and rigged up a carburetor. I don't much care for that and would like to reinstall an original fuel injection setup. However it does run good and the suspension seems to be perfect. All the power windows work except one and I have the motor for that. I have always loved Mercedes but this is the first one I have owned. I gotta tell ya I'm really excited. |

| Comments: | These cars are what you call classics, none of the new cars being made these days. I first met and fell in love with my Brown W108 when I went out to buy the local newspaper. I first saw it on an MOT ramp, it had failed its MOT and the owner wanted to get rid of it as it needed more work than he could do. I believe I paid £1200 for it, and that must have been about 10 years ago. I agree I have had problems with her, but she is a classic and she is there to be used.
The silver one I acquired not so long ago, the previous owner spent about £6000 on it before selling it to me for under half of that. The interior is spotless, the engine never misses a beat and the looks of it just make me want to drive it. It doesn’t sound as meaty as the brown one, but the ride is like it was just bought from the show room. The last one, my "baby" (W114/250) I bought very recently, it had been stood in a garage for more than 17 years. It hadn’t been run and the brakes were seized but after a new battery, some wd40, some nitro methane with methanol (works better than braddex) and a little bit of elbow grease she struck into life. She has a few imperfections but with 54,000 miles on the clock she is again in very good nick. It's an unrestored Mercedes, bodywork is in very good condition and there's been no more welding since it left the factory. The car still has its first paint and even the "Pullman" upholstery is in good condition. The chassis is numbered: 10901812006111 and the engine is the original one. There are things to be repared like the air suspension and the exhaustpipe but I think I 've been lucky to meet a Mercedes in this condition. Pieter. |

| Comments: | I'm the third owner of this car that has lived it's entire life in San Francisco, CA. Meticulous records kept for the last 24 years. Still I find myself investing in fixing the 'little' things to bring it to its original splendor.
I've replaced all air-bellows, main-valve and leaking leveling valves on the air-suspension. Still, the front-end will drop when parked. Oddly though it might drop in two hours or it might drop in two days. Does anyone have an explanation for this? |

Originally supplied by MB dealer T Gargour & Fils in Beirut to a Mr Fiad Hamde Idilby, registered on 24 April 1972, and came with him to UK in mid 1970's when he moved to London. Has spent most of its time since then in an underground car park in central London. Mr Idilby was believed to be the personal physician to King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, and the car is thought to have been a gift from the King. The car is in amazingly good condition bodily, mechanically and cosmetically. The fuel system was completely overhauled by Greenvale MB specialists a couple of years ago and the car drives superbly. A small amount of mechanical and cosmetic work is required to make it perfect. We have the original service book showing regular servicing upto 1987, the handbook and factory data cards. The car can be bought as it is for GBP7,950, and we can arrange the necessary work at additional cost using our network of specialists if required. |

Some person drove this over Minnesota's salty roads every day last winter with the appropriate results - Rust in the wheel wells and beyond. It runs and drives, gets about 7 miles to the gallons and will a good tune-up shortly.
I love how it looks and drives. On the way home I got it up to about 65m/h. It didn't overheat, didn't complain, only the steering system doesn't sound happy. My first Benz, hurray! |

Car had been left in a barn since 1982 so I had to replace a lot of rubber hoses and even bought a brand new gastank cuz the original one was full of rust. Fuel lines was filled with rust and bits and pieces of dirt so the car was almost impossible to drive due to fuel starvation. Many so called "experts" missed this simple fact and said it was something wrong with the fuel injector pump, ignition etc. Turned out to be this very basic simple fault. Looking for fresh drivers seat in cloth/vinyl in the yellowish brown color that the interior has.

As per normal she needs some TLC, but luckily mostly rust free, except around the trunk area, but doors and sills etc. are rust free which is the reason I bought the car. Motor still runs well, but needs a tune up, but has a lot of power for such an old vehicle........ At the moment I have too many projects and we are storing the car till I get some time to start restoring it. Would like to see it back to it's former glory, as the interior is still good and as a whole the car only needs no major restoring. This weekend i'm going to check the engine, transmission ans electrics. Next week i'm taking it to a mechanic-shop for a complete, professional check-up. It drives smoothly, but i want to start a maintenance-book and i want to be sure it's in the best shape possible. Some chrome parts need attention (any advice?). It is solid and very unmolested but needs cosmetic work, which I will do myself except for paint and wood refinishing. Mechanically, it just needed new fluids, ignition wires, and the fuel tank and lines drained, and it started right up! After a few miles, though, brake issues (namely, no brakes) developed, so the shop is figuring that out now. |

When it arrived at the shop by tow truck, we check the engine oil, added coolant and turn the ignition. After several attempt it finally came to life. Except for the original Blaupankt radio, everything works as expected in a Mercedes. I have a 1987 420SEL and 2005 350SLK and this 250S is the best.
