Hey, SwankiVY! I love what you have to say, love that you want to help inform others of what asexuals are "about," even though it's a surprisingly simple concept: not being interested in having sex. The sexual people out there just cannot wrap their heads around it. lol And while I mainly think this is hilarious and a huge intellectual hindrance for them, it's also other partly frustrating. So again, thank you for your time to do what you do in making yourself an open book.

Hi Ivy. I stumbled onto your site after viewing some of your videos on asexuality. I wish I had seen your site a few years ago; now it.
I also get told a lot that "sex/reproduction is the purpose of life". I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers to transcend in more creative ways. I noticed in your "about me page" that you described yourself as "VERY antisocial" in your childhood. Were you using the word to mean "asocial" or were you really ANTIsocial, as in, aggressive or hurtful? I know your vocabulary is better than most people's, but I'm hoping you made a mistake there, because I can't imagine you as an antisocial person. Anyway... Haha. Not in a creepy way or anything, I'm a 17 year old straight female. XD I just think you're a really awesome person! See, I just wanted to let you know that you inspire me. Not sure how, or why, but although I don't even know who you are, I sort of admire you and want to be a bit like you. Okay, yes I am a bit creepy. Lol. I have bipolar disorder and major anxiety issues. But your page somehow inspired me to make my own "website". (it's not really a website like yours, it's just a blog-type thing. Haha. I fail.) But anyways, the blog/site just helps me keep my thoughts out, feelings, and allows me to be more creative with what I do(drawing, writing, etc.) It's helping me out a lot with my issues, and honestly, you're part of the reason as to why I made one in the first place. I also learned you were an atheistic-pagan. I sort of want to be that. I don't believe in any deity- I want to, but I just can't force myself to do so. However, I do have have very strong spiritual beliefs, and Paganism/Witchcraft seems to fit this. It's nice to know I don't have to believe in deities to be a witch! :D So, yeah, although this is a bit weird, random and awkward, I just wanted to let you know that you're an amazing person, although we've never met. Thanks for listening. I imagine this bit about needing to work on my higher notes was offered as constructive criticism, which I am open to. However, as a music teacher, I'm sure you know that it's difficult to really make anything of such a vague suggestion. Here are some ways you can further help me if you so desire: 1. What did you listen to? If I can have an example of something you listened to which you thought needed "work" on a higher note, I might gain perspective. With only the information above, I don't have any idea if you listened to my pop or my more classical stuff, and don't know what constitutes a high note that I need work on. 2. What do you suggest would result in the high notes coming out better? When I was a music major with a voice specialization, my vocal coaches never just told me to "work on" something--they definitely had advice. I don't know if perhaps you're a more general or non-vocal type of music teacher, but unless you can give me a hint as to a technique that will result in better high notes, all I really have is "make it better," which doesn't help me much. 3. What did you think the high notes lacked? Did they sound too soft or too loud? Uncontrolled? Strangled? Flat/sharp? (And, again, as mentioned in point #1, I'd need an example to back it up or I won't be able to benefit from your advice.) I realize you probably didn't want to barrel into my guestbook with an in-depth analysis, so maybe that's why you didn't include much in the way of applicable advice, but if that was what was stopping you, feel free to unload!
