I got our male when he was five years old, beautiful dog, great temparement, very protective. He left us four years ago at the age of 15. Our female we got when she was 8 weeks old at a breeders in Mission, BC. Sweetest little girl... very precious and great with the kids. She hasn't been the same since her male left for the rainbow bridge. She got hit by a car a month ago and sadly passed away. It is very devastating and I am still grieving. Just wondering if I want to get a collie, do you guys sell to Burnaby, BC? Thanks in advance and thanks for such a lovely website and pictures. |

We recently adopted/rescued an 11 year old sable collie from Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio. She and Gordy get along great. I think he will keep her young in her last years. I was wondering if this is commom problem with collies, as she is my first big breed i have ever owned. Im having a hard time emotionally seeing my little girl having to get older and have these sort of medical issues. I wish there was something i can do to make it easier for her somedays.

| Comments: | I will say that you have some of the most beautiful collies I have seen for one breeder. Sadly our 14 year old smooth collie mix crossed the rainbow bridge on September 14 and I can't stop thinking about her. Ours was a tri-color but she looked so much like Jada as Jessie had the straight up ears, not the folded ones like most collies. It would be hard to find another dog like her but you guys are on the top of my list. I definitely want to get another smoothie and you will be the first place I inquire. We have two poodles and I'm not sure the wife is ready yet for the flying fur but I know I'm ready so you may be hearing from me sooner than later.

I have been visiting your web page for quite a while. You have exquisite Collies. Lovely ! I have a 9 year old Shetland Sheep dog boy. And a 3 year old Rough Tri Collie girl. She is my first collie and I am blown away by the breed. Absolutly love her.. Love my Sheltie boy too. She had 3 heart defects. Had one surgically fixed when she was 12 weeks old. She is on bettablockers 3 times a day. Just happy to have her.. as many days/years we can. I am crazy about the breed. So soulful, loving, dedicated.. so darn sweet. Henced.. She had a tumor removed about 2 years ago but the vet said he was only able to get 90% of it so we think she lost her life because of it. My world is empty now as I loved her soooo much. The house has lost it's life too. Tears in my eyes are a common thing now. I struggle to write this. But, I hope that time will help me get through this and I will be able to get another "best friend" someday. It will be another smooth. Collies are the greatest. | Comments: | We have a 2 yr old rough wf sable merle who is a complete joy. I am hoping to work more with our Murphy so that he and I can be certified with the Delta Society as pet therapy partners. Murphy was our first puppy ever and first collie after rescueing 3 adult shelties, one a mill rescue who'd been kept in a cage and forced to breed for 10 yrd. She was a double dilute and born deaf and with vision problems but for the two short years we were blessed with her, she was an angel, especially when you remember she had absolutely no reason to like us people at all after the way she lived!
We researched collies quite a bit for a couple years in fact before deciding this was the breed for us. Besides that, I knew what to expect with grooming needs. Although shelties and collies are both herding breeds-their personality is totally different. I've know an older lady in Northern Michigan for 15 years who has a small collie kennel and is very dedicated to the breed. She is now 75 years old and just finished her first home bred chamion. Her love of her dogs shows in her voice, her eyes and her dogs. She kept telling me once I had a collie, no other breed would do. What I did not expect was the amount of laughter Murphy brought into our home. From the chomping jaws when he is talking back to us, the total couch potato attitude while inside the house, the wonderful companionship and the entertaining collie singing. I'm never in danger of oversleeping because the minute the alarm goes off Murphy comes over and noses me, then slided his front legs under me in bed to make sure I really did wake up, then he gently grabs the sheet and pulls it down. Then he brings me one slipper at a time after making sure it's good and dead by shaking it thoroughly! He makes it hard work to start your day in a bad mood. We are constantly amazed by the love and joy Murphy gives us.My friend was right, no other breed but a collie will ever do for us again! The love you give your dogs shows in that spirit shining in their eyes and that wonderful collie expression. Keep up the wonderful work in all acpects you do-showing, breeding and collie rescues! I wanted to let you know how much i enjoyed your site. Not only was it friendly and chatty but at the same time, informative and serious. Not only does your site let us, the visitor, know how much you personally care about about your collies but also illustrates the seriousness with which you take your breeding. You have no idea how much I have always wanted to keep a collie. I once realised my dream and, for a short time, owned a lovely tri-colored male. Unfortunately, after his coat began to gain length, my allergies prevented me from keeping him. Luckily, the parents of the little eight year old twin girls down the lane, who always came up to play with him(I wanted him well socialised to children and allowed the kids to come and play with him), gave the girls permission to keep him. Seems they had had to put down their beloved collie just three weeks before. Everyone is very happy, particularly the dog. He is extremely fond of the girls and now has even more acres in which to roam. The greatest curses in my life are allergies to horses and dogs. I am not allergic to cattle or birds.LOL! I am fine with non-shedding breeds and have a lovely bischon and have owned scotties. I am thinking of purchasing a lovely standard poodle.. but how I would have loved a collie vicki |

I had a shih tzu for 15 years that "ran away" a few years ago. We are ready for another pet, but less maintenance. We have just started looking, but after research, I Maybe we could visit. we are moving up to chatsworth, ga (2 mi up a mountain)and are looking for a good watchdog (not an attack dog but one that would get us up if there was a need). country (mountain) living will be new for us (no close neighbors)since we've always lived in a large city. we love dogs but it's been awhile since i owned one. would a border collie be better? or another breed? any thoughts you have will be appreciated. thanks. |

Sammy, smooth sable merle, is 8 mos. old now and weighs 60 lbs. He is a great puppy. My kids remind me every day on what a great choice he was. Sammy reminds me of Cruise. | Comments: | Dear Lacy, Just a note to say hi from Moscow, Russia, Shadow and Cassie are enjoying their third snow filled winter here. They have flown home with me every summer and seem to take travel like it's normal. They are both healthy, happy, and the center of our family. We live in a town house community here that has an area for letting dogs run free. When the times work out right they can have up to 4 other retriever etc to play with . Shadow gets along with all other dogs. Cassie is a little pickier about her friends. Cameron's a junior in high school this year and so we plan to be here at least through his senior year. He's in a Christian School and is planing on going into the ministery. He and Cassie are still bonded at the hip. She only looks my way when he's gone and I say Walk or food. Shadow has decided she's mine. She is with me all day everyday. She is the dearest dog I have ever owned.
