hope you've found your own space now. I paint portraits in realistic style and am managing to stay broke most of the time - I'm sure there will be new avenues for you in the U.S., if you stay. good luck... I can only imagine what Oklahoma might be like for an artist.

Just a little note to say that Maurice presented his wife, Margaret, with her surprise portrait on their 50th wedding anniversary and she was delighted. Many thanks for a super efficient job, undertaken with great skill from just a tiny b/w photo. Many thanks, and good luck with the studio.

Just checked my newly published web page and your website is promoted on mine. I clicked and saw the most beautiful paintings! I hate to see that you are now homeless...that tells me that if cant sell, I don't have a chance. But from one artist to another, Good Luck!

Great work! I am trying to do portraits and fine art for earn a living but it sure seems difficult. I just started to try about a month ago and I'm using the airbrush mostly and starting out doing black and white. I am taking a portrait class in a month from Dru Blair. I hope to get a handle on adding color to my portraits. Great work and I hope you find time to do more paintings. Tim

Hi Simon, Just a comment on your experience at art school where you were discouraged to paint properly.I am shortly to graduate with a BA in illustration and I,like you, have been 'strongly advised' to abandon my photorealistic style by tutors. It seems that realism attracts very low marks these days! Please don't abandon your style. You have great ability and it is your duty to save the world from the tyrannical orthodoxy of contemporary 'art'!Keep up the superb work.

woow! When I saw you pictures I thought they were real, I didn't believe that someone had painted them, I got totally speechless. They were really good!! I guess you already knew that, but I just wanted to say it. I like to draw portraits, not from my fantasi, but of people and pictures, but I didn't think that was any special about just paint things that already was there, and I didn't thought I was any good in drawing because of that. But when I saw yours I saw that you don't have to have a good imagination to draw good pictures. Once again, really good pictures. i love them.

Thank you for truely inspiring me to paint and to post my paintings. Usually i am shy and don't want to share my work, but you make masterpieces. I paint and draw more sexual portraits such as nude men and women. But just like you i take pictures and work from there. May i make a suggestion? Instead of using pictures you could ask people to come in and post for you. I find that far more fun and interesting. I do that for many of my nude shots, and have exoctic nudists come in to pse in a risque kind of way. It expresses what i am feeling inside and want i want to do on the outside. Thank you for inspiring me.
