Comments:Gidday all, You dont have to be Einstein to say that this weekend's game against Ringmer is crucial and could decide the future of the club. It's great, no fantastic to see that Worthing United have finished their season. At least we know what we have to beat. Shame that they are 3 points above us. Goal difference doesnt seem to be factor now. No doubt the backs to the wall fighting spirit of the Oakwood F.C. will come to the fore with the help of the all the locals. Wish I could be there to help in any way. Im eagerly looking forward to looking back on the game on Sunday here. Best wishes for weekend. COME ON THE MIGHTY OAKS! YOU CAN DO IT!

Comments:Hello all, It is great, no..fantastic to read that the MIGHTY OAKS have had a few good wins lately...against Shoreham and Hailsham in the League and East Preston, in the John O'Hara Cup. Comments:Hello all, Hoping that the mighty Oaks will improve their form over the next month or so. Seems the results dont give a true indication of their play. Best wishes with getting a few more well deserved points. GO THE MIGHTY OAKS! P.S. For those interested. With our footy (Aussie Rules) today is Grand Final day (Probably the same as your F.A.Cup) and Geelong are playing Port Adelaide. Geelong would be the first team from Victoria since 2000,(Since the MIGHTY BOMBERS,Black and Red) to be good enough to go all the way.Oh, the Mighty Bomberrs just missed on playing in the finals. Once again, GO THE MIGHTY OAKS!!!

Comments:Hello again. It was great to see the club win enough games to stay up in first division next season. Best wishes with the game against Worthing United. No doubt it will be another 3 points. Our footy has started and the mighty Bombers have started the season really well. Winning their first 2 but losing the next after being well in front. Once again all the best for the weekend. GO OAKS!

Comments:Hello, It is great to read that the Oaks have enough points to have another season in Division 1. WOO HOO! Shame the home game record wasnt that good. A few more home game wins could have put them up with the stronger teams. Hopefully, the coaching side of the club camn recruit a few more players before next season. My team over here (Essendon Bombers) have had a brilliant start to the season. Last week they beat, Adelaide, one of the premiership favourites on their home ground (Not an easy task at the best of times)Then on Sunday beat Freemantle over here after looking beaten. 2/0 after 2 games is quite a nice surprise ? Looking forward to our arch rival Carlton next weekend. Finally got my Oakwood sticker on my dad's car. He told me a few people have asked him where is Oakwood FC? Best wishes for next weekend's game. GO THE MIGHTY OAKS!!!!

Comments:Hello all, Sorry to see you have so many postponed games in a row. Has the weather picked up yet? Nobody been seen building an arc yet? LOL,LOL,LOL. No doubt the firsts players will be eager to get back onto the park for a game or two. I see that it is a difficult draw in the next few games, however, I'm sure that we can gain a few more needed points from them. Hoping that the games in hand compared to the teams in the drop zone will help us stay in first division for the next season. Once again, to the reserves, all the best with the game against Hastings Reserves on Saturday. Best wishes from Melbourne.

Comments:Hello, Sorry to see the 3 games postponed. What a bad time for it to happen. With 2 exteremely hard games against hassocks and Eastbourne Town. Hoping a couple of points at the least, or is that too much of wishfull thinking? Have complete faith in the team staying in first division next season. GO OAKS! Best wishes Kirsten.

Comments:Hi All,

Good to catch up with some old faces on my recent visit back to the Oaks and I'd like to thank you all for giving an old player (92-95) such a warm welcome. Shame the result against Arundel didn't go our away, however I saw enough to suggest that there is enpough talent at Oakwood to maintain the current 1st Division status. Best of luck for the future.

Comments:Hi ! This is a fond hello from Ken Kilcullen in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
Just found the website - and great to see my old club hasn't lost the magic ! Well done on the long overdue promotion !!
Is there anyone still around the scene who played in the team with me 1980-84. I had to leave to go and work in Cyprus in Nov 84, just after we'd moved to the new ground and I drew up the plans for the new Changing Rooms etc.
I haven't lived back in UK since then, and have only managed two fleeting visits through good old Crawley (used to live in Holmcroft) but I bet you can still hear my dulcet Scottish tones screaming at you from the back !!
I retire in September this year and intend to get back to UK for about six months before finding somewhere else in the world to retire to.
It would be great to catch up with any news of/from any of the old team-mates from what was a great period in my life !
Awerebest to a great club with a great past and hopefully an even greater future.
I'll make a point of coming to see at least one match when I'm back in UK sometime.
Thanks for some great memories !

Yours aye,

Ken Kilcullen

Comments:Hello, Im Geoff, Kirsten's dad. Not long after posting her last notice on here Kirsten began to feel ill. She was taken to (Maroondah) hospital. That night she was operated on and had her appendix taken out. She stayed there a few nights and now recovering as well as expected and resting at home. She asked me to wish everyone at the club and whoever reads this a merry and safe Christmas. (She would hate missing saying that herself) Hopefully, she can post a notice before the Three Bridges game on Boxing Day. Best wishes Geoff.B

Comments:Hello, As usual I wish the team well with today's/ tonight's game against Hassocks. No doubt another 3 points. Seems the 3rd Test is getting away from your team. Langer going first ball of the 2nd innings should have got them fired up but they let the chance go by. Hope the series isnt over before they play here. Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to everyone. Just in case I can not get back on here next week. Oh, best wishes n that from a very smokey Melbourne. Go Oaks!!!!

For those interested..... Today is grand final day for the AFL (Aussie rules) West Coast Eagles play Sydney Swans in a repeat of last years final. Tomorrow night the NRL have their grand final. Melbourne Storm play Brisbane Broncos. GO STORM!!! For years the two codes hated each other. Now we might see Sydney win the Melbourne competition and Melbourne win the Sydney competition, in the one year. LOL. Best wishes and that from Melbourne. GO THE MIGHTY OAKS!!!

Comments:Hello everyone, It was fantastic to see the team get back to winning against Chichester City. Sorry to see the average? ordinary? home game record. I wish them well with the crucial game against Selsey today/tonight. Over here, my Bombers had their worst season since 1931. it could have been worse, as thge could have finished last not second last. Having said that the last few games gave the impression that there is some hope for "us" next year/season. Best wishes and GO THE MIGHTY OAKS!!!!!

As usual it will be fantastic to see the Oaks beat Crowborough Aths, Rye United and especially Whitehawk, as it will be played on my ##th birthday. My team over here (The Bombers)had one of their worst seasons in 120 years. Roll on the 2007 season. LOL. Best wishes from a warmish Melbourne. Oaks will win the league. Go Oaks!!!!!!

Comments:Hello, Sorrry to take so long to write. Thank you to everyone for all the things the club sent. I appreciate them so much. Congratulations on being promoted. It got a bit streessful near the end of the season though. Or was that me just worried about nothing???? I cant wait to see how the Oaks go in a higher grade of football. No doubt the boys, err, men, will be up to the task with ease. With my team over here, the Bombers, they are not going that well 1 win and 5 losses from 6 games. I see in the record its been 20 odd years since they have started a season that badly.:( :( :( :( :( :( Best wishes and thank you once again.

Comments:Dear Mr McArat.
Thanks for taking the time to look at and post on the Oaks website, but Scott Kenward and Zak Newman were hardly "nicked".
Both players were approached in the correct fashion and chose to ply their trade at Oakwood Park.
However, I have to admit that we have lost several players that were "nicked" over the years, what sort of squad would we have had then!!
Come on you Oaks

Good luck with your league application let's hope the Kent FA see sense. With all the new ground grading legislation coming into play, facilities like yours are a major asset.

With our schedule for pre-season friendlies being looked into I can see a trip to Sittingbourne coming up.

Comments:Hello, Great to see the Oaks only a couple of wins away from being automatic promotion. Hope you managed to see some the Commonwealth Games. Wasnt as bad as I expected. Got sick of Advance Australia Fair though. They could have let a few other countries win a few. Our footy (AFL) kicks off tomorrow night in Perth. My team Essendon, the mighty, (black & red) Bombers play Sydney on Saturday night where the Comm Games had the rugby 7's. Unfortunately that is the same time as my cricket presentation night. Oh well, these thing happen. Best wishes with the games against Wealden and then Midhurst and Easebourne. Go Oaks!!!!!
