| Comments: | Hi, I don't have a homepage. I am not very computer literate. I am researching the William J. Palmer family of Culpeper/ Orange counties, VA. He married Ellen E. Hord in 1835 and they moved to Giles County, TN and spent the rest of their lives there. That section of Giles is now in Marshall County as of 1870 because of boundry changes. They are buried in Beechwood Cemetery there in Cornersville, TN. I can find lots of Hord family information, but nothing to connect Ellen. The name Dwyer made me stop by, my ggrandfather was John S. Dwyer also of Middle Tennessee, in the 1830's to about 1874. I have no idea where he is buried or much about him. I am searching for my gg grandfather b. 5/8/1798 who was born in Culpeper Co., Va. He later listed in a diary that he was from Jeffersonton, Va. He moved to Missouri and married Sarah Jane (Jones) Huffman on 9/1/1835. She was from knox co., tn and b. 1810. I know very little about his life before 1835 and I don't know for sure who his parents or siblings were. We think his parents were John and Elizabeth Huffman (John b. 1764?). The Bible of this John and Elizabeth was (is?) owned by Mrs. Estelle Huffman Ellett of Rixeyville, Va. Please note that Rixeyville is near Jeffersonton,Va and also several of the children of John and Elizabeth had names the same as those used by Alfred and Sarah when they were naming their children. Many times in those days children were names after siblings. I still haven't found the proof for the above guess but hopefully it will come soon with the finding of pages like this verygreat one. I have not been able to successfully find any info about them. Sadie's maiden name was either Moore, or Smith. William (the father)left home in the late 1920's and his children nor wife never heard from him again. He was connected with the O V Catto. |
