| Comments: | I have made a few rather rough knives but have allways had to muddle through by looking at pictures of finished knives and trying to work out how it was done.
I found a book and a web site which gave me more of an incite but your page has done a lot more than just show me how to overcome the problems which occur. It has inspired me to be more ambitious and shown me what is possible when you look at the project with artistic eyes instead of seeing those problems as a chore to be overcome. You are a generous man with the information you give and I thank you for giving me something to aspire to. |

Found your site while looking for supplies from my friend Dennis Holmbacka's BRISA KNIFE SUPPLY in Finland. Its always nice to see the work of northern knife makers and their special use of Reindeer antler and the engraving that is done on the bone. Fantastic work! I have been making Puukkos for 1 1/2 years. They are my favorite knife to make. Not only are they quickly built, they are infinitely more interesting because of the natural materials used. I thought your use of the "bullet hole" in your hunting sheath was great! Very Clever. I have a framed piece of hide, with the hole, from the first deer I shot hanging around the house. My wife is not too crazy about the thing. But she does like the knives I make because I am able to sell them. Do you sell your knives? If so, Do you have a price list? Just curious. I also liked your sections on the making of knife and sheath. Very informative and generous of you to help us new makers. Thanks very much! Well, better run. Lately I have been making knives with Scandinavian blades and handles of materials from the southwestern part of the USA, where I live: hardwoods from the desert, silver and elk (wapiti) antler.
